Il Borgo degli Ulivi Resort

My family and I booked the apartment for 3 nights. The staff was very friendly and we were even able to use the pool before we checked in ( we came at 1 pm and check in was at 2 pm ).
The apartment had a nice view and we got a lot of towels that we were allowed to use. The rooms were clean and nice.

Now not the very good part:
- no knifes ( only butter knifes )
- no coffee machine
- nothing to boil water with
- no dish soap or dish towels
- VERY thin walls
- no stable WiFi
- AC only in a living room ( it was extremely hot in the bedroom for 3 people )

You will also see some ants sometimes, but it didn't bother us, because it's just nature.
You also have to use gas stove, so be careful if you didn't use something like this before.
It's only 300-400 meters to the sea and in the city are some local shops and pizzerias.

Overall it's a nice place, but to become really nice 3 star resort they have to improve a lot of things.

Minus 1 star! The worst hotel I've ever been…and I didn't even stay there!

We arrived at the reception and waited quite a while until we have been checked in. We then learned that our room has not been ready yet…at 5pm!
When expressing our displeasure on this, it seemed to be their justification that check-in time is starting only at 3pm (=2hrs earlier)…euh what???
In the room (which was still dirty, smelly and the blank pillows looked disgusting) we saw that there has not been an A/C which we booked. First, they wanted to fob us off with a fan which we did not accept. They were then looking for an alternative room which took them >1/2hr. They finally gave us one but >500mtrs away from the main hotel area with the swimming pool.
Having arrived there we have discovered with horror that there were ants everywhere, even on the boards of the kitchenette. So back again to the reception to complain that we will not stay there…we finally were given our money back and had to find s.th. else on such short notice with 2 little kids and a baby at 7:30pm…not a single word of sorry but an arrogant attitude instead.

4 more anecdotes:
1. We have by far not been the only ones whose rooms have not been ready after 5pm and others needed to ask for toilet paper right after having moved in.
2. A Danish family who also had to wait for their room and we decided to have a drink while waiting. We went to the restaurant area where the hotel manager told us that it is closed, only the pool bar is open. Ok, no problem, we went there. The Danish wanted a draught beer and we ice cream for the kids and an Aperol Sprizz…the lady at the pool bar then told us that this is only available in the restaurant area…we thus went back there…such a bad organization
3. Even though a long queue waited for the check-in at the reception, the hotel manager caring for the check-ins preferred to answer a call for a restaurant reservation for that evening…strange prioritization
4. Our follow-up hotel told us that excursion agencies quit the cooperation with this hotel because guests complained to the agencies on the hotel service

I have been to many hotels in my life already but never experienced such a bad attitude and low aspiration to serve guests.

Terrible in every way. There is usually something positive about a facility and something negative. Not here. Stay away, that's the only advice I can give. Now I understand why it was the only facility with available places.

The bedding in the room was dirty, probably never changed as soon as the children were bitten by bugs. There was not enough food for breakfast in the restaurant, and on top of that, the children were served last because the waiters are albanians, and the children are from Serbia. Recommendation - do not stop by. If you are from Serbia you will avoid seeing the Albanian eagle with their hands and the statement - albanians do not like you Serbs

New Year's Eve stay. Family with two girls aged 4 and 8. We are staying in a building where all the other apartments are occupied by groups of young people who, although they were very polite, did what young people do on New Year's Eve and the day after: celebrated noisily. The managers did not even have the foresight to give advance notice. Another point: we had called to ask if they accepted a certain type of card, answer: Yes. When paying: No. About the apartment: improvable (dirty walls, dirty sofa, bathroom with tub and curtain, you can't see it on the photos on the website). In conclusion - and I say unfortunately - the usual Ligurian structure that, even if with good premises, disappoints you every time.

A long line at reception should have already made us suspicious... In the first room for 2 adults and 1 child for 160 euros, the beds weren't freshly made and the trash can in the bathroom was still full from previous guests. So we were given a different room, this time without a separate bed for our child and with two entrance doors, one of which we couldn't even close! Guests also have a certain need for security. The furnishings were also more poor than good. A noisy refrigerator in the bedroom isn't helpful for guests' well-being either.

Dated hotel
Old worn out hotel. We only had one AC in one of the rooms and it didn't work which made it unbearable to sleep. When the sun came up we had to leave. Only stayed one night.
The tennis court was in very poor condition.
