Hotel Haiti

One of the worst hotel experiences we’ve ever had – humiliating, unprofessional, and frustrating from beginning to end.

We arrived from Zurich after a 9-hour drive, tired but hopeful. That hope quickly turned into regret.

First: communication = ZERO. I had to call them 5+ times before someone picked up, and even then – no one speaks English. Not a single staff member. If you don’t speak Italian, this place will feel like a nightmare. No effort, no basic hospitality.

Second: the parking lie. They say it’s 10 minutes away – it’s not. It’s over 13 minutes walking from the hotel. After a long trip, that’s the last thing you want to deal with, especially without clear instructions or assistance.

Third and worst: the beach incident. We sat under a Hotel Haiti umbrella on an almost empty beach, just letting our 2.5-year-old play in the sand. An hour later, a man claiming to be the beach manager showed up – yelling, using offensive gestures, and speaking to us like we were criminals. He made a public scene, while others around us laughed. Then, only after the humiliation, he walked to a desk, read a list, and realized we were hotel guests the whole time. A disgusting display of arrogance and disrespect.

We reported it to the hotel. Their response? Nothing. No apology, no explanation, just an offer to “reserve an umbrella” the next day for 20€. Unreal – especially since on their own website it clearly says 7€.

The room? Decent in size, but forget about privacy. The bathroom door was a thin plastic sliding panel – not a real door. You can hear everything. Using the toilet felt more like a public restroom stall than a hotel bathroom. For a couple or family, it’s awkward and unacceptable.

Breakfast? A disaster. Poor quality food, extremely limited variety, and once something ran out – they just refused to refill it. Like they’re doing you a favor by feeding you.

This is not a hotel – it’s a cheap setup to trap budget travelers and treat them like garbage.

We made the mistake of choosing the cheapest price – and now we know why it’s so cheap. Don’t fall into the same trap.

Pay a little more elsewhere and protect your vacation, your dignity, and your sanity. Hotel Haiti is a disgrace. Never again.

I don't know where to start, so as not to forget, I'll start with the lifeguard where the hotel offers no, actually you pay for the service, it's appallingly ignorant, he never misses an opportunity to demonstrate it, let's move on to the cleaning staff who, in order not to be outdone by the lifeguard, start at 7 to shout about the floors without having respect for those who pay to stay in their hotel, the boy at the reception seems to be doing you a favor too I must say quite a bit but you don't have the same levels as the previous ones, breakfast until 9.30 but at nine already you could no longer find various dishes and they were not replenished, at 8.00 the floor staff insistently knocked on the door to do the cleaning when the room had to be vacated at 9.30 rather disrespectful, I could go on and on but I prefer to forget. Ps I changed hotels a stone's throw from the previous one and certainly the courtesy and kindness stopped there.
