Grand Hotel Due Golfi

I am utterly shocked by the unacceptable treatment my wife and I received during our stay at Grand Hotel Due Golfi. What was supposed to be a relaxing vacation turned into a nightmare. After purchasing a bottle of wine outside the hotel, I planned to enjoy it by the pool, on the sun loungers, taking in the beautiful view. However, the hotel staff rudely refused to allow me to do so, insisting that I could only drink the wine inside my room.

This absurd rule was never communicated to us beforehand. They were adamant that if I wanted to drink wine by the pool, I had to purchase an overpriced bottle from their cafeteria. Despite my explanations, the situation escalated, and instead of resolving the issue politely, the entire hotel management confronted me aggressively, even threatening me, saying they would “sue” me if I dared to write a review about this incident.

To make matters worse, when we arrived at our room, we had specifically requested a double bed, but instead, we were given two separate single beds. The room was also filthy, with disgusting findings such as pubic hair on the toilet seat from a previous guest.

Update: The situation worsened further later that night. After the hotel manager read our review, the same manager who verbally attacked us earlier at the pool called us at 8:30 PM, demanding that we leave the hotel immediately. She informed us that the manager was furious about the review and that if we did not leave right away, they would call the police to force us out. This outrageous behavior crossed every boundary of professional conduct and decency.

This entire experience was a complete disaster. From the aggressive management to the unsanitary conditions, Grand Hotel Due Golfi has clearly forgotten what customer service and basic hygiene mean. I strongly urge anyone considering staying here to rethink their choice. This hotel has proven to be a catastrophe from start to finish.

Disappointing Stay

We recently stayed at this 4-star hotel and were very disappointed. The service was subpar, and the staff seemed unhappy. Breakfast was the worst we've experienced, and any request we made was met with uncomfortable stares and conversations in Italian, making us feel like we were being talked about.

Upon arrival, we received just two small bottles of water for four people, and when we asked for more, we were told we couldn’t get any. We had to go down to town and buy a case of water ourselves. The housekeeping service was poor; they took our towels during cleaning but didn’t replace them, so we had to repeatedly ask for fresh ones.

Overall, the experience was terrible and not worth the high price. The only redeeming feature was the pool. Would not recommend.
