Arrived 2.30pm, front desk meant to open from 2.00pm, no-one there, man working next door phoned for us, woman appeared 20 mins later with no apology, unsmiling, not friendly at all, I took an instant dislike to her, she proceeded to argue with me at the desk about the city tax which I had on my confirmation sheet as 1.50 euros each per night, she said it was 2 each per night, showed us on her computer, it wasn't for the money but the principle as i had the e-mail confirming the 1.50 price, she made us feel very uncomfortable, and not welcome, a very dour faced woman. Room was fine but as it faced the road a bit of traffic noise, we had asked for a quiet room but were told none available. Breakfast continental, not much laid out, the morning before we left we were going to ask for a breakfast bag for our last morning as had to leave early for our flight, equally unpleasant young person working at breakfast, however when we asked about taking a few items for the following morning she provided us with small plastic bag and napkins, not much we could take but the few packs of wrapped biscuits we took turned out to be out of date, we noticed after we'd left. If you’re looking for a diamond in the rough, look no further. If you don’t want to spend all of your vacation in the hotel room, this is the perfect location in the center of the town. Best markets and night life. You have the beach, mountains and all the tastes of the local cuisine within 5-10 minutes. Another benefit is you don’t need a car in this area.
The service and cleanliness was all top shelf. They have the kindest receptionist. Whether on vacation, or stay for work, this a perfect spot.
I’ve spent many many summers in this part of Italy, and for me has all the benefits of the area, and not the negatives. If you really want a local experience and not a tourist trap, this is the spot and location for you.
Breakfast was served each morning. My room was spotless each day. Towels and linens were all fresh. I could even park my rental car out back which is a nice luxury. The entire staff was beyond kind and friendly and really assisted in providing options for local vendors and day trips. They know the area very well. Regardless of how many stars, you get 5 star customer service without all the hassles.
So for the laid back vacationer or business trip, this is perfect place if you don’t plan on spending all of your trip in the room! All the needs for air conditioning, WiFi and TV had no issues the entire stay.
It’s a great place to walk around and be in the quaint marketplaces and town. You get all the Tuscan colors and feels, without all the cinque terre type of over the top prices. This is really where the locals hang, and you don’t have to be standing in line, or shoulder to shoulder the whole time.
I would definitely choose to stay here again. It checked all of my boxes…no complaints and was sad when it was time to leave.

Right in the middle of a very charming town, near to the coast yet very authentic Italian atmosfere and quite pleasant and beautiful.

It was my only option to stay one night a Sarzana center, but never ever. The room was full of smoke and everything was smoky and smelly. I tried to change room without success because the receptionist had to close she hurried home. Very poor experience. My reccomandation if you want to stay a city center in this area go to La Spezia no Sarzana.

Albergo la villetta is an hotel in downtown of Sarzana, it's a very clean hotel and it has a very excellent breakfast.

Air conditioner worked great and the beds were clean, which was all we wanted at the moment. The shower head was falling apart but we were still able to get a warm shower. The floors had not been swept or cleaned in awhile so walking around barefoot for even a short time resulted in sorry feet. Not a bad place to stay. It just needs some attention to detail.
