Firriato Hospitality - Baglio Soria

Baglio Sorìa is listed as a 4-star hotel and having a 4-star means the details counts. That’s exactly where Baglio Sorìa fail and is clearly overrated in terms of value for money and quality of services.
So in short if you’re expecting a 4-star services at international standard, don’t stay in Baglio Sorìa overnight.
However the services of restaurant and Wine Experience was really great and the restaurant/bar staff really nice!

We booked a Deluxe room for several nights where a balcony and view on vineyard was specifically mentioned as added value vs a standard room. When we arrived at the hotel such room wasn’t available. We were upgraded to a Junior Suite (very minor difference) and were confirmed only two rooms in the full hotel as a (very small) balcony and were not available at the checkin. We had in exchange a view partly on some garden (no vineyard) and for the other part on the car park. This was our first deception and discussion with the receptionist was rude not trying or bringing any solution.
The Junior Suite was very basic, standard modern equipment and bathroom was not well maintained but overall clean.
Hotel was very close to an highway and all the suites are facing the highway, so you hear noise during nights of trucks passing on the highway, was not so quiet and not so relaxing nights.
The swimming pool was dirty and not maintained, no extra facilities, nor pool services where open during our stay, so mostly disappointing when you expect a more valuable service as initially sold.
At the end, despite our bad experience was shared (from the checkin) no any commercial gesture was offered despite we consume in the facilities (nothing, even symbolic and we mentioned we were not interested to a junior suite upgrade but was the only room available at checkin) and it’s also what we expect from an international qualitative service. The hotel staff were rude and no solution minded. It clearly makes overall from a quality, service and value for money pov Baglio Sorìa overrated!

For the rest, the restaurant was a nice experience and staff there was really nice. They also serve the hotel breakfast which was very good, good product and variety.
We also enjoy a wine experience with great discussions, explanation and top team. A bit disappointed that it doesn’t come with visit of the vineyard or facilities but I understand most of the wine facilities are in another location.

So, enjoy the wine experience and restaurant but prefer another place for overnight stay!
