Hotel Corona

I really wanted to like this place. As it's quaint, a good location, and it was a reasonable price. But I really wish I hadn't booked here :(

Currently lieing here in bed, after 2 hours, wide awake. As the noise is just awful, due to zero soundproofing. A constant unbearably loud drone and whining of some kind of generator outside the window, alongside loud road noise - which I can hear even with ear plugs in. There's also no fire doors on the corridor, so the reception noise echoes loudly up the open stairwell.

The bed is an old fashioned, cheap spring mattress. That's sagging and digging into me. With a thin summer duvet.

On the surface it's clean. But the decor must be 30-40yrs old, and the musty smell gives away the presence of decades of ground in dirt.

The bathroom smells awful. The shower is tiny, with disgusting dirty black mold. The room itself is basically just an oversized cupboard they've squeezed a room into.

The window overlooks a car garage, and close overlooking buildings. No black out curtains or shutters.

The two plug sockets spare were broken. The plug just fell out. Which made me seriously question the safety/ fire risk. I just charged my phone enough for my alarm, and I'll do it again on the train. Which is ridiculous for a hotel in 2024.

I have to be up in 6 hours for a train booking, and I'm completely exhausted. I've come from a shared dormitory in a youth hostel in Milan. Where I had a much more comfortable and quiet, good night's sleep.

So disappointed as I was looking forwarded to a nice restful stay. It's really spoilt tomorrow.....

I'm sooo tired!!! Ugh to that unbearable generator noise!!! It's driving me crazy. Oh for modern glazing and a modern comfortable bed!! :'(

It is a few minutes walk to the station if taking the Bernina express, but the the room we had is by the road so it’s quite noisy. The room is large but we chose the largest room in the hotel, and the hair dryer is difficult to use, stops after around 30 seconds

Staff are friendly, breakfast good and location practical, but the room was a desaster. No soundproof at all, so one wakes up to traffic noises and conversations two rooms down. The floor was sticky and dirty. In the bathroom, the floor was still stained by a fallen-over toilet brush. All in all, the hotel itself looks nice, but the room was terrible.

Not my favorite hotel of our trip. Beds have no padding and its like sleeping on metal wires. Pillows are all down and suck. Rooms were cleanish, with dirt and some mildew in the showers. Its located a block and a half from the train station which makes it convenient in a pinch.
