I really enjoyed my stay at Green Mango Bungalows, but there are a few things that could make it even better. It would help to have clearer signs or directions since it’s a bit hard to find the place at night. A little more lighting around the paths would make it safer and cozier after dark. The rooms are nice and simple, but small updates like better fans, fresh mosquito nets, and softer bedding would make a big difference. And since it’s outside the town, offering a daily tuk-tuk service would be super convenient. These small improvements could make Green Mango not just peaceful, but also more comfortable and welcoming for everyone.

Chilled and lovely place right at the riverfront. Lovely terrace restaurant. Rooms and restaurants reasonably priced.
I rented a large bungalow with a terrace facing the river. I contacted them directly and got a small discount.
The Bungalow terrace has a great view towards the mountains and a beautiful sunset.
Location is great. 7km from kampot, and so it's more quiet. It's just after the two rivers converge so you have quite an interesting spectacle in front of you: two different colors in one river.. Actually they don't mix and it looks like two rivers flowing in one river bed.

About location: it’s beautiful. Quiet and peaceful place far from town. You can swim in the salty river. Taking a tuktuk to town is just a few dollars and about 15 minutes. The ride is nice but maybe tiring to do often.
About food: The dinner menu is excellent. The cook is really good and the prices are totally reasonable for the quality. Breakfast options are not as good and I would say overpriced. I recommend eating breakfast in town. Also, there is only instant coffee so I suggest to try some amazing Cambodian coffee elsewhere.
About the room: I booked the economy room and it definitely was basic. No hot water! No hair dryer! The worst part for me is the bed has fitted sheet only and a fuzzy blanket. No top sheet. Also the fitted sheet is cheap material worn out with piling and stains. The fuzzy blanket material is also not nice on the skin for sleeping. Plus the dark colour makes me feel it’s unclean. The pillows also not good!

Magical accommodation to stay in
The Australian-Khmer-run accommodation is magical and the owners are very friendly and helpful! We lived beautifully right above the river and felt very comfortable. Our children loved the hammocks, the rustling of the palm trees and the house bat Barry. Delicious food!

The location of the room is perfect.

I absolutely adored my room with a balcony over the water. And even if you don't have one of these, the bar-restaurant has a very similar position and view. I was there for the rest and quiet, and I found it. Had a good swim in the river, which is ok clean for that. There's a small kayak to paddle too. And wonderful sunset by the way.

Kampot is a wonderful place to visit. With that said, I was lucky enough to stay in the most awesome location. I would recommend Green Mango Bungalows to anyone who visits Kampot. It's a beautiful place to stay, Kevin is a fantastic host. He's really sociable and great to chat to. I really enjoyed having some food and a few drinks here. The conversations we had were really fun, informative and helpful. Kevin's wife is native to the country and also is very kind and an incredible cook! I was blown away by the food, it was so good! 10/10. Everything about this place is special, made so by the location, the cool bungalow rooms (mine was the old kitchen!), the decking and cool bar, the hosts and the awesome view!) Definitely visiting here again in the future. Highly recommended!
