Beautiful very traditional hotel with all th pluses of tradition and yet up to date when it comes to the facilities...

My stay at the Hansa Hotel in Swakopmund was a delightful experience that perfectly blended history, comfort, and warm hospitality. Nestled in the heart of this charming coastal town, the hotel’s timeless classical architecture, dating back to 1905, adds a unique character to the stay.

From the moment I arrived, the staff ensured a seamless and welcoming experience. The hotel exudes old-world charm with its elegant interiors, yet it offers modern comforts that make the stay relaxing. My room was well-appointed, spacious, and carried a cozy ambiance, making it the perfect retreat after exploring Swakopmund.

The dining experience at Hansa Hotel was another highlight. The breakfast spread was excellent, featuring fresh and locally sourced ingredients. The restaurant’s evening menu was equally impressive, offering a fine selection of dishes that reflected both Namibian flavors and international cuisine.

One of the best aspects of the hotel is its prime location—everything in Swakopmund is within walking distance. Whether it’s a stroll to the beach, visiting historical landmarks, or exploring local shops and cafés, Hansa Hotel serves as a perfect base.

Breakfast was excellent

Nice hotel with a big room with access to a big shared balcony. Friendly service and easy to book activities in town direct with the hotel. Stayed 2 nights and had a pleasant experience. In a good location where you can walk to everything too.

We had a great dinner at the restaurant. Everything was delicious! A special thanks goes to our waiter Samuel, who made this evening even more special with his smile and his recommendations! Thank you!

What a precious experience it was to spend two nights at this lovely hotel.
Once in a while you want to stay longer when something is so good and it's the case at the Hansa Hotel.
It's a beautiful old hotel with a rich history. The decor is gorgeous.
The atrium garden is a beauty.
But it's the staff that make this hotel so special.
Helena at front desk was so incredibly helpful with any request and went out of her way to ensure we secured a booking with the best sandwich bay desert dunes excursion (the Ewe one).
Erkki, our porter was also so helpful with directions.
The restaurant staff were incredible.
Martha made us feel so at home and has the most beautiful smile with her gorgeous dimples.
Claudia was equally a delight.
Dennis and Samuel were brilliantly attentive.
An, of course, there's Carlos...tall, handsome and the expert at flambé of the crepes suzette (what a show!).
Thank you also to Lucia for looking after us so well.
So many lovely touches.
Santa chocs under our downturned coffee mugs on arrival at breakfast...delivery of an extraordinary platter of Christmas cheery treats on-the-house by the lovely Lucia...with a smile.
Stuck without a Chrstmas night restaurant booking, Helena booked us a table at the in-house restaurant.
We ordered the kingklip which was offered Mediterranean style topped with mango, mushroom and plum tomatoes..
a risky departure from our comfort zone of lemon garlic.
But what an extraordinary dish! Absolutely superb. Easily rivals and matches any fish dish offered by the fancied beachfront restaurants.

It was a very happy 4 nights and 5 days.
All the staff were friendly,
and the location was perfect, needless to say!

Absolutely loved this place! Wonderful service. Great breakfast (although a bit chaotic with two tour groups present). A superb location. Rooms were very spacious and spotless. Enjoyed the separate bedrooms. Bathroom was clean and beautiful. Everything felt well-appointed. Hotel had a real old time, colonial feel. Wish we could have stayed longer. Lots to do in walking distance. Great restaurants nearby.

The location is really good, old style decor but big rooms, could have more commodities like pool but overall a really nice place for the money.
