The Legend Boutique River Resort & Spa - SHA Extra Plus

A wonderful hidden gem of a Boutique Hotel in peaceful environment in the outskirts of Chiang Rai... great private villa with terrace and garden facing the river... fine traditional Italian cuisine in cozy Restaurant... a well appointed breakfast buffet... attentive and friendly staff all over. Very professional Management. Well done!

Had to attend to some family matters and stayed here for a couple of days.

Located on the river, with lovely beautiful trees all around. The hotel is centrally located so getting into town to go visit walking street, or trying one of the many restaurants is easy and convenient.

Rooms at the hotel are well maintained and tastefully decorated, which added to the stay and made hanging around our riverside room even more appealing.

If you want to give going out to eat a miss, the dining options at La Casa shouldn’t be missed, we had a very enjoyable and reasonably priced meal there.

Cannot fault the service we received during our stay, everyone was super friendly and helpful.

We had an incredible experience at The Legend Chiang Rai. They were very helpful from the moment we left to our departure. We arrived in the rainy season, so there were times that we were unable to go out and fully appreciate the beauty of the resort but the staff still made it a very welcoming experience. The manager, Eric, was very friendly and personally took time to ensure all guests were being looked after. Lastly, the restaurants offer a wide variety of Italian, German, and Thai cuisines. We will definitely stay here on our next visit.

Very nice hotel, room and breakfast buffet!

Amazing place to stay in Chiang Rai. Separated from the busy center but only a 5 nin Grab ride. Several good local restaurants at walking distance as well. Manager and staff were super nice. Coffee was OUTSTANDING, using local beans and great espresso machine. Pool was fantastic and even big enough for some laps.

One of the best resorts I have stayed in. Beautiful grounds, Super attentive staff that will always greet you with a smile. The restaurant is incredible, and all the food is Delicious. The Ribeye steak was the best I have had in Thailand. I Highly recommend this resort.

Great resort for those travelling around. Fitness room is basic. Breakfast was great for the price/class of accommodation. Friendly staff throughout. Restaurant was tasty and reasonably priced with selection of local beers, wines and spirits - the local Chiang Rai IPA is a must try

We stayed at The Legend Chiang Rai Boutique River Resort and Spa for two nights and had a wonderful 5-star experience overall. The hotel is located slightly outside the main tourist area, requiring a drive through local neighborhoods to reach the resort, which adds a charming, authentic touch to the arrival.

Our room was comfortable, featuring a lovely patio where we could relax. While only hand towels and body towels were provided—no washcloths—it didn’t detract from the overall experience. Since we visited in January, when the nights are cooler, we appreciated the small heater provided in the room.

Check-in was smooth and straightforward. Breakfast is served outdoors, so if you’re sensitive to cooler morning or evening temperatures, it’s worth bringing a jacket. Bikes are available for guests to use, making it easy to explore the area. Alternatively, the Chiang Rai Clock Tower is just a 1.2-mile walk (approximately 2 kilometers) from the resort.

The resort does not have a hot tub or sauna, but the small gym is functional for a quick workout.

All in all, The Legend Chiang Rai offers a serene and comfortable stay with thoughtful amenities, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time there.

Stayed 23th to 27th February 2025: Upgrade to Grand Deluxe Room - Highly Recommended!

We initially booked a Deluxe Studio, expecting it to be top-tier, but were a little disappointed with the room. Consequently, we upgraded to a Grand Deluxe Room with a spa bath, which we highly rate. The entire property runs alongside a river, so expect abundant wildlife sounds and, of course, insects and mosquitoes. This is simply part of being immersed in nature, and easily managed with bug spray.
The room features a Harmon Kardon wireless Bluetooth speaker, an absolutely brilliant Ultra HD quality large-screen TV (the best signal we've experienced in 11 weeks across the Asia Pacific region), a sitting area, chaise long, a balcony, and our room overlooks a Koi carp pond. The queen-size bed has a mosquito net, and the room includes a fridge, pod coffee machine, and other amenities and 4 bottles of Drinking water a day.
Breakfast is excellent, with superb service and piping hot, freshly prepared food. Arrive early and secure a table right next to the riverbank (see the video). The location is a mere £1.30 Grab taxi ride into town, which offers a wide array of bars, restaurants, and entertainment. We cannot recommend The Legend Chiang Rai Boutique Hotel enough. Just ensure you book a higher-tier room; we stayed in room 272, and its location and features were impeccable. If there was any feedback wed say cleaning is only an 8 out of 10 but a clean behind doors and skirting boards would resolve this.
This is a great hotel, and they also offer free bike hire, a decent gym with new cardiovascular equipment (though the weights are a bit limited), and a 1.1km circular running track (not part of Hotel) just a 4-minute jog away along the river. There's also a lovely pool, and loungers. Truly, we're not sure what more one could ask for or want. Well done and thank you, The Legend Chiang Rai Boutique Hotel. Value, Service, Location and quality all good here.

Unlike most guests, we didn't just stay in the hotel for 1-2 nights, but 9! The hotel's location, on the river in the middle of a beautiful green area, is perfect for relaxing and you can still get to all the sights by Grab or Tuktuk. The extremely friendly staff leaves no wish unfulfilled. The management also regularly asks how the guests are feeling. All in all, a perfect stay! As frequent travelers, we have many things to compare and say thank you!
