Everything met or exceeded expectations. I forgot something valuable in my room and they emailed me and sent a taxi to the airport to bring it to me just before my flight!

It's a great hotel in a peaceful location. The rooms are spacious and have a nice feel. We had a 9 year old son with us and other than the pool there isn't much for him to do, but he really enjoyed his stay. The staff are super friendly and helpful which we really appreciated. The breakfast is good with lots of options. If you're looking for a bit of peace in your life this definitely ticks that box

Had a very relaxing stay at Meridien Chiang Rai . Would recommend it and come back again. Service is very attentive. Gave a small present to my daughter on arrival + toiletries for kids. I took option with dinner included. It was at the Italian restaurant. Food and service ate good but should give more options to be chosen from the menu when you are staying several nights. Just came here for lunch, this was our stop during one of the tours. The food was buffet styled and pretty good. They had a bunch of different soup, rice, noodles, pad thai bar, etc. Lots of different selection and I think the food tasted pretty nice. Looks like the hotel might be a different story but the food was nice!

Comfortable, carpeted room, decent enough breakfast, big, old feel, staff changed the price on us by 100 baht after handing over the money, so we asked to take it back and booked online there and then for cheaper.

I stayed at 6 hotels in Thailand, and this was by far my favorite. I'd love to come back and just spend a week at the A-Star - it was truly magical. The food was good, the room was amazing, and everywhere you look there is beauty. They even grow some of the food they serve there. I'll be back some day!

Quiet accommodation Pool, beautiful view, service charge 100 / person.

The pool will take you on a wonderful journey into a past life where you were a petit bourgeois, walking on the cobblestones of Paris. No, the pool is really beautiful with a view of the Thai nature. The possibility of renting a small room with 50 bathrooms more. One of them is a small inflatable plane with a water gun, which is great for blowing up your friends for the day.

Facilities are a bit run down. The room was very old and dated - but we did go with the cheapest option. staff advised that renovations are about to begin. The pool was fantastic though. It was 15 Km out of Chiang Rai. So unless you have your own transport it could be challenging.

Exceptional value for money although i suspect prices are down because of lack of tourism. Rooms are large and modern. Pool not overly big but more than adequate. I had my own car and found that location was great... if you don't have access to a vehicle you will be using taxi's.

Spent a week here very friendly & helpful staff. 15 minute walk from bus station & night market. I managed to get one of the redecorated rooms which was right next to the pool.

A very enjoyable stay in this this traditional hotel, close to the blue temple. Spacious room and lovely grounds. There is a huge pool overlooking the river Kok, with several loungers. Enjoyable breakfast on the terrace overlooking the river. Free bicycles available, which we used to cycle along a lovely river cycle path to a flower festival. Excellent value and highly recommended.

Let's start with the receptionists. We came with a tour group so the tour leader did all the work for us. I was standing behind her so I was able to watch every bit of facial expressions on one of the receptionist. She was inpatient, a bit disrespectful, and even rolled her eyes at the customer as she left the front desk. Not sure what kind of customer service that was offered. The room: three floors...

Came here as part of a group tour, checking in and luggage was smooth. Rooms are quite outdated but perhaps that is the colonial style they're going for. Bathroom comes with a hand held bidet which we're noticing is a common theme in Thailand. Rooms are large and spacious. Bring bug oils or sprays as there are lots of mosquitoes. Balcony door isn't sealed tight when closed.

The place is great but the location is really hide, I want use the pool in the morning before to check out but they were cleaning it until 11am so I just enjoyed for 30 minutes… check out is at 12pm. They offer coffee and cookies free and I had the breakfast alone… not sure if more tourists stayed in the place… I shared bathroom but I only used it, I like the glass water. No aircon but the fan is close...

The hotel has a beautiful environment and elegant scenery; the reception staff provides warm service and the cleaners work hard; leaving a good impression on customers.

I arrived from Chiang Mai tired and stressed. So it was nice to find the Ben Guesthouse offered a nice respite with good amenities. I appreciated the hot water pressure and cleanliness of my room. There are also some great restaurants and cafes close by.
