Pullman Khon Kaen Raja Orchid

First of all this is NOT a 5 star hotel. The staff are poorly trained all across the hotel. I have been all over Thailand and even stayed at other hotels in Kohn Kaen and Isaan.The staff at the front desk is disorganized. They have plenty of staff it’s just the staff is not organized or efficient. Placing a room service call is very difficult. Communication issues are always present and again very unorganized. In the bar they are also very inefficient. I placed an order for wine and 10 minutes went by and then I asked about it and they said “oh sorry about that I forgot” the staff seems friendly but the problem is that they don’t understand their job. The chairs in the lobby are soiled and dirty. Maybe consider different upholstery so it can easily be washed and cleaned. So it doesn’t look so stained. The gym is very good though I would say that was a highlight. The room itself has dated and old furniture. The location of the hotel is really good. The hotel has potential but needs a face lift.

The Pullman in khon kaen is a hybrid beast. I like it. But it’s also disgusting

The good: The Pullman has a certain old-school charm, with lots of heavy wood and dark carpeting in the rooms. The rooms are larger than usual for Thailand, at a pretty good price. The location is very good, and the Staff is always been friendly and helpful. It deserves high rankings for all these

The Bad. It’s a pretty dark hotel. It also sits adjacent to an alley where all the bars are and that can get quite noisy. Adding breakfast to your room costs a ridiculously exorbitant ฿1000. No other hotel I’ve been in in Thailand charges such an excessive fee for breakfast. The Wi-Fi is slow and spotty.

The Filthy. The lobby is a disgrace. The carpet and furniture in the center of the lobby are disgustingly dirty and soiled. It should be an embarrassment to pullman management. When I stayed here during the Covid., I assume maintenance have been cut back to save expenses. But we are well past Covid now and nothing has been done. I won’t even sit on many of the items of furniture because they look so soiled and grimy. if I had a friend who had carpet and upholstery this dirty looking, I would choose not to enter his apartment. I can’t overstate how soiled it is.

Bottom line, if you don’t care what’s under your feet and like a somewhat dark old-school vibe, the Pullman could be a good choice for you. If you’re particularly hygienic and tend to look down, probably best you avoid it.

Very friendly staff, the hotel is already older for it very nice renovated.
The prices are too high, a cocktail by the pool about 300 Baht, also otherwise rather very high prices, for me too expensive for what you get. Unfortunately not really recommended.
The breakfast buffet is not good, always the same and very little choice.
It's rather loud, as it has many bars in the immediate vicinity, where there is loud music and party until the morning.

Stayed at this decent older hotel. Rooms are big, but there's this musty smell in both the rooms and hallways, probably from all the carpeting. Despite that, breakfast was good, and I gotta say, the Chinese and German restaurants in the hotel are fantastic. Impressed by the food overall, just wish they could freshen up the rooms and hallways to get rid of that unpleasant old smell.
