Koh Tao Cabana

My friend and I stayed here for 4 nights and our experience was phenomenal. The staff really do their best to ensure you are happy. I noted that the staff here seemed to speak the best English of all the island residents.
Our little treehouse was so impressive, incorporating modern comfort in to a traditionally built mud hut with incredible architectural touches. The free minibar was restocked daily and although we didn’t need to use it, they offered us an incredibly reasonable laundry service which I noted was cheaper than a laundry mat I saw outside the resort.
Being Australians, we have very high standards for food and beverages and we were blown away at the incredible menu at the resort restaurant. Noteworthy meals were the calamari (life changing), pad see ew and mango sticky rice. The hot lattes were particularly good too. The breakfast buffet is complete with both western and Thai options, and there is also a menu you can order from for free.
We ate dinner here 3 nights in a row as the food was incredible, and although there are cheaper meals outside the resort no other restaurants seemed to be as uniquely luxurious or have food presented as beautifully. They provided us citronella incense and mosquito spray each night that we came to the restaurant.
We had massages at the resort spa which again was dearer than outside the resort, but the facilities were luxurious and private whereas the other massages I had in Koh Tao were in shared rooms with many other tourists.
The pool was very clean and has a beautiful aspect over the beach. We went for a walk around the resort one day and found so many gorgeous little spots such as the boat deck and a swing atop a cliff with a great view.
I noted that the staff work hard to keep the resort pristine and must have picked up the trash washed in from the beach before guests wake up each morning, as there was no rubbish to be seen but it’s all along the beach when you venture outside the resort.
Lastly, I am not an Instagrammer and I paid for my stay in full like everyone else - I feel there have been some chronic whingers in the reviews for this resort which is why I wanted to leave a detailed review.

We stayed in the Honeymoon suit. The room was beautiful and has its own pool over looking the sea - stunning. Felt very special. The evening meal we had in the restaurant was average, but there were loads of places to walk to along the beach. Breakfast was good, with lots of self service options. If you are fussy about coffee, you may need to go elsewhere.

Staying here now and all I can say is this place is amazing. Everything about has been fabulous for us. Friendly Staff who can't do more for you constantly. They make you feel very special. Food has been fab. Rooms Are to die for. And the beach is exactly WHAT I expected a Thai beach would be like. Lovely sand and then coral For Snorkling. Plus gear you can borrow. A perfect week so thank you and 100% will be back here for sure. Can't recommend enough!!!!

After I ordered I read more reviews and was quite worried about reports of low standard and mediocre breakfast. What can I say: seems people are spoiled 😄. Everything is so beautiful and special here, and the breakfast is diverse and excellent.
The beach is fantastic, and with a few steps we get into a very animated street. All at once, quiet when you need it, and boiling when you need it. Perfect!
True, there are stairs. But that's what happens when you build a hotel on a slope of rocks. That's how you get an amazing bathroom built in the rocks. I felt like a king there.

We are not lucky with the weather. Living in a Paradise under the rain could have been hell, but with such an hotel were still having a great time.

We are still in the middle of it, were happy we have several more nights, and we pray that the weather will allow us to enjoy the amazing beach.

We stayed in the family villa with pool which was great. Amazing right on the beach. Resort feels run down and almost like a scene from far cry! Rooms lacked maintenance (locks not working, hot water etc). Restaurant was pretty average but an amazing spot. Unfortunately it spelt badly of grey water likely due to rain. Feels like it needs big $ spent to bring back to a higher standard. Great to be close but far enough away from the party scene.

We had SUCH a lovely time for our honeymoon at this resort.

It is magical. The staff are so helpful and very, very friendly. We stayed in the white sand villa. Lots of steps, not super friendly for folks not able or willing to walk.

Breakfast was included with room and it was absolutely delicious. Lots of different things to choose from, including western food and authentic Thai.

The beach access to Sairee beach is perfect with cabanas right next to the restaurant.

Location was PERFECT. It is a bit away from the hustle bustle of all the 18-25 year old backpackers, but walkable to the area with lots of activities.

Don’t forget to watch the sunset on the sunset deck up and over behind the restaurant!

Beautiful, peaceful resort, a bit removed from the party area in the central beach but only a quick walk over to join the festivities. Lovely pool, direct and private beach access. The villas are comfortable with incredible views. Free shuttle transfer to and from the ferry terminal. Free breakfast included and good food at the restaurant. Highly recommend staying here!
