Chaantalay Hotel

Really enjoyed our stay at Chaantalay. We had a triple room for our family stay over New Years. Great room with views and balcony. Location is ideal, quieter but easy safe walk into town. Great pool area, friendly helpful staff, hotel can provide easy taxi pick up from around the island which was great. Highly recommend and look forward to coming back.

Excellent hotel located 12 minutes walk from Sairee beach. Hotel is uphill, and provides great views from the pool. Staff were helpful in assisting with tour bookings, and if you book through them they provide a free shuttle back to the ferry port. Rooms were clean and serviced daily. Would recommend this for people travelling to Koh Tao for a few nights and don’t mind spending slightly more than the budget hostels, it’s certainly worth it with this hotel.

Great Hotel. Nice personell and owner. Rooms have a lot of space. Nice and clean pool. Very good cleaning of the room. They helped us with our questions and spontaneous extending of the stay.

Also perfect location to stay (couple).

The hotel owner and staff are excellent. Although the hotel is not directly on the beach, they offer motorbike rentals, making it easy to explore the entire island. The street in front of the hotel has many places to eat, and there is a convenience store nearby. If you value privacy, I highly recommend this place. I came with 13 friends, and everyone was very impressed.

The hotel and its facilities are good and new, nice and spacious rooms, nice swimming pool, good restaurants. The location is a bit far from the village but it is a 15 minutes walk that can be done. There is a tiny gym. The staff are nice. Unfortunately they are obsessed with rules and extra charging for everything. If only they were more flexible they could please much more their customers (in the end you say no to any stupid charge they come up with).

This absolutely beautiful and gorgeous little haven on the island offers the perfect blend of convenience and tranquility. Room is very clean. Pool is gorgeous. It’s close enough to restaurants, bars, supermarkets, and even massage and gym facilities, yet tucked away to provide the peace and serenity you crave on a vacation. The hotel manager is super nice, helped me extended my stay, booked my tickets, and found my forgotten AirPods upon check out. If I ever come back to the island, this would be the hotel I’d stay again!

The hotel is super clean and has everything you need. On top of that, the staff is absolutely amazing! They will do anything to make your trip as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Book as much through them as possible. And definitely rent your motorbike here if you plan on driving

I was happy with what I've got for the price. Pool bar was closed and you had to go to reception to get drinks. Room was really nice, strong and quiet AC, very good shower with cold water and good pressure (not standard in Tao). Pool was cold (again not standard in Tao) enough to have a swim.

Edit after reading other reviews: I really like pools and the ability to cool down in them and I choose accommodations based on pools to some degree. Koh Tao is not Phuket. Infrastructure (water/electricity) are still a luxury. I stayed in several places and you won't find a better pool in Tao in this price range.

My main issue was with the pool area. Everything is covered in black tiles which get super hot. There is not any shade anywhere. If you want to hide from the sun, you need to go to your room. Your beer gets warm in a couple minutes. Even after you finally get some shade after 5pm, everything is still super hot for hours. Hotel could really use something to cover sunbeds from sun or at least provide umbrellas. When I was there people were using empty mineral water bottles to get water from the pool just to cool down sunbeds.

Nice modern hotel away from the noise of Sairee Beach but close enough to walk. Excellent pool for cooling off and near a supermarket and lots of restaurants. Staff helpful and will book trips and ferry. Free shuttle when booking a ferry and 150 Baht per person for pier pickup

Nice modern hotel just outside of the busy area of the island. The room was spacious with a quiet A/C and the whole property is well maintained and in a super clean state.
