Reviews
There are taxis to the central area at a very expensive and unreasonable price.
In addition, the hotel staff was very impatient, unfriendly and unhelpful. They did not respond to any request we asked of them and there were several times when we arrived at reception and there was no one there.
Third thing, the hotel has a lot of stairs, not suitable for the disabled/elderly and I think it should be written.
Fourth thing, the hotel's internet was bad, it didn't work in the rooms nor at the reception.
When we asked for help to see what could be done, there was no response from the employees.
On the first day we arrived, we asked the reception to check if there was gluten-free food (I'm allergic to gluten) and she told us yes.
The next day we came for breakfast and there was nothing gluten free, the employees didn't even know what it was.
When we asked the reception to cancel breakfast because I didn't have anything to eat there, we didn't get any response or help. And in addition, the breakfast was very poor.
*in short,
One of the worst hotels I have ever been to.
A very bad experience and I would really like the hotel to improve in many things and then present itself as a five star hotel.*
the worst experiance ever! the hotel was under MAJOR RENOVATION when we got there but there was no mention of it on their website or in our email correspondence.
When we complained about the noise to the hotel manager – she told us that we are bothering her and if we don’t like the noise we can find another hotel (it was the middle of the night and we were with 3 little children!!)
They are rude, they have the worst customer service ever, and will lie to your face just to take your money.
think 1000 times before making a reservation at this place. Worst hotel ever!!!!!
Recommend eating at Eagle View instead of the hotel restaurant, 10th of the price, more tasty and stunning view!
The resort will feel like climbing a mountain every day, so if you don't like hiking isn't the place for you, everywhere you go there are lots of steps.
The pool look amazing but it's full of chemicals and gave a rush to the kids.
Restaurant is nice but shockingly overpriced and without much choices.
Stuff is great everywhere.
There is no access to the beach.
The snorkeling experience, right off the hotel is breathtaking
Here are my 2 negative points:
-location isn’t the best if you want to go to the beach and it’s a pretty bad location if you want to go out, although they do have transportation taxis 3 times a day. So, you might be a little dependent on the restaurant which isn’t the best food I’ve had on this island but it’s not bad, and maybe a touch expensive (like 280 bhat for pad Thai). If you want to stay where it’s a bit more lively I’d recommend staying near the west coast.
-we didn’t have outlets near the bed which was a bit annoying.
Conclusion:
This was a 10/10 place for me and my girlfriend who are backpacking and just wanted to check into a nice resort for a couple nights before going to another hostel. I’d be surprised if you’d be able to find anything much better than this on the island. Also seems like a good place for kids/families.
However, the standard rooms left much to be desired. The outdated pink tiles in the bathroom and the tired red decor didn't quite match the modern feel of the Villas. While the balcony boasted nice views, the air conditioning unit was constantly dripping onto the cupboards and floor. It seemed like a chronic issue given the swollen wood on the ceiling. Despite bringing it up with the staff, there was little concern shown.
On the upside, the hotel's location is pleasant, offering privacy. But if you plan on exploring restaurants or beaches, be prepared for taxi expenses to add up quickly unless you have your own transportation like a bike.
One thing to note for those considering this hotel: be ready for a workout. With over 200 steps just to reach breakfast each morning, you'll find yourself climbing stairs at every turn.
Breakfast is average, really wished they provided better (real) coffee, but there are fruits, eggs, bread - the basics.
The rooms are spacious, however the details were not there - not much electrical plugs, and not located well. AC is older so it takes a long time to cool the room. Basic shampoo/soap/conditioner- better to have brought own. No body lotion.
Pool is beautiful, however many children during our stay. Didn’t get to use because it was crowded.
Many many steps/stairs to walk - can be a pro and con to some but at least we can strengthen our legs here and burn more calories 😆
If you rent a motorcycle- the staff can help with that when you check in. Just make sure you are a strong driver - and be extra careful coming up and down the steep road - i also imagine it is very slippery and dangerous if rained.
Overall I was actually expecting the hotel to be a bit nicer/newer but cannot complain due to the beautiful location. We enjoy the more quiet side and it only takes 10 mins with motorcycle to the center.
The staffs are very kind, hope to see improvements on the buildings, amenities, and breakfast. Again, breathtaking views and right on the beach where you can do some snorkeling.
