Simple Life Cliff View Resort

I stayed at Cliff view for 3 months whilst doing my Divemaster and IDC courses with Simple Life and can’t rate it enough. For me the location is great it’s walkable to Sairee and walkable to Mae Haad as well as being a minute walk from the dive school. The staff are so lovely, friendly and helpful. The food is good. The pool and sun lounging area is absolutely stunning me and my friends used it all the time it was always so quiet! The housekeeping team are so efficient and the rooms are always kept clean. Overall brilliant stay here. ✨

The resort has 3 different locations
- simple life cliff view = main resort. A bit pricey but this is the best compare to the others.
- simple life Talay: Bungalow = 100m walk away from the reception, decent room, good price.
- simple life Talay: Tenement = opposite cliff view, old building and low maintenance room. Avoid this one if possible.

The rooms are nice although they need a little sprucing (the shower ceiling was peeling in a few spots). Overall the service was good but there were a few times I had to ask for things. Not a huge deal but for the price I was paying, I expected it to be a little bit more on point. The front desk staff was always lovely and smiling. I didnt feel unsafe but there were a few times I came home at night and the "security guard" was no where to be seen. Anyone could have walked in off the street.

I’m honestly shocked by some of the negative reviews here!! I had the pleasure of staying here for three nights, and it was easily the best stay of my Thailand vacation!! Perhaps it’s because the room I stayed in was Seaview, but the room was incredibly clean and the view was like none other!!!

My only complaint is that the boardwalk down to the rooms is a huge slipping hazard in the rain- the boards become very slick and most don’t have the grippy tape. Would highly recommend the property fixes that before someone seriously injures themselves!! That’s the only reason I am giving four stars instead of five. The room itself was definitely 5/5

Do not let my 3 stars spoil it for you! This hotel is well located and really nice. It's getting a little bit old BUT we did not mind that. The view and the staff make up for that.
The restaurant on the opposite side of the road is not bad at all. They make a ham and cheese sandwich which we asked with some changes and we ordered a few take-away for our trips.

Let me explain the 3 stars for the rooms. We took the amazing sea view, which you should only do if you sleep with earplugs and are half deaf. During the evening and a large period of the night the sea constantly breaks waves on the rocks at a few meters from you. To enjoy the view yes but to sleep... no thanks. If you are not sure don't spend the extra money for the sea view, on Koh Tao you will see the sea all day anyway.
I had a second problem, the mattress on my side had a bad smell, which woke me up as well as the noise. The staff tried to fix it but did not replace the topper. I can not say if the sheets were replaced before I arrived but the smell partly went away when they replaced the sheets... BUT I will come back to Koh Tao and big chances are I will book in this hotel again !
