This is literally the best resort to stay in the whole of Thailand. Better than six senses, four seasons etc. The service and the food is amazing, the whole place is beautiful, you will not find a more beautiful beach in the whole of Thailand than the beach in this resort and I have lived in Thailand for many years. I totally recommend it.

We just spent a week at Soneva Kiri, and we’re so happy we found this hidden gem. From the moment we arrived, everything about our stay was amazing. The resort perfectly balances luxury with a sense of connection to nature, making it the most unforgettable place we’ve ever stayed. And to make it even more special they take you by boat to their private and absolutely stunning beach paradise.

Our villa was stunning. It was massive, beautifully designed, and completely private, with a gorgeous infinity pool overlooking the ocean. The outdoor bathtub surrounded by lush jungle was a highlight—it felt like an oasis.

The food was out of this world. Every meal was a delight, but the breakfast spread was the best we’ve ever had, offering a wide variety of fresh and locally sourced options. We also couldn’t resist visiting the chocolate and ice cream rooms every day—it brought out our inner kids!

There was so much to do, but it never felt rushed. We spent our days sailing, snorkeling, and relaxing by the pool. One evening, we watched a movie at Cinema Paradiso, their open-air theater over the lagoon, and another night, we stargazed at the observatory—both were magical moments we’ll cherish forever.

The staff made everything even more special. Our butler, Fon, was incredible—so kind and attentive, always ensuring we had everything we needed without ever being intrusive. Fon even arranged for our private movie showing, which was such a memorable experience. We also had a wonderful time with Dmytro, the water activities manager, who was always helpful and had such a positive attitude. Additionally, we had the pleasure of meeting the Reservation Manager, Dhanushan, the General Manager, Manish, host Spy, all the guys working at the private beach and many other staff members whose warmth and hospitality made our stay exceptional. The entire team genuinely cared about making our experience unforgettable.

Soneva Kiri is a perfect escape for couples and families. Whether you’re celebrating a special occasion or just need time to reconnect, this place is pure paradise. We’re already planning when we can return—it’s that incredible!

We don’t own the world that we live in; we are just guardians of it, a world that is powerful, just as it is fragile. This is the emotion that fuels Soneva Kiri, a magnificent resort in Thailand. Mr Sonu Shivdasani, doesn’t believe that he ‘owns’ the beautiful islands that house his resorts (the others being in the Maldives), but refers to himself as the Guardian of the Culture of Soneva. Language truly breeds behaviour, and it is evident all through the resort. The staff, or the hosts, are rigorously trained, yet deeply courteous. The resort is rustic, with a blend of luxury and comfort. I must admit, it took us a day or two to acclimatise to the eco system. Unaware of the sounds that the night would bring, we made our fair share of errors in judgement. Eventually, we learnt to recognise and expect the song of the cicadas, the patient game of hide and seek of the geckos and the whole set of sounds that make up a forest ecosystem.
As a resort, Soneva Kiri is wholesome in many ways. The food is not only nourishing and delicious, it is prepared and presented beautifully. The view from the beach view villa is what I could wake up to forever…
At Soneva Kiri, one can find a lovely mix of restful days and fun activities. There are stunning waterfalls, gorgeous beaches and hidden gems dotting the island. Our favourite had to be the tree pod dining, where, suspended from the magnificent trees, one can enjoy a great meal, served by a waiter who brings it by zip line!
Now to the real people who work extremely hard to make all this look effortless. Mr Manish Sharma, the GM, knows the island like the back of his hand. He was able to create and curate experiences for everyone at every age in our group. Our barefoot butler, Fern, spoilt us so much, we started every sentence with calling out to her after a while ! The FnB team is exemplary and the visiting chefs leave one satiated yet waiting for the next treat!
On this beautiful island, with the soft sands, majestic trees and sparkling waters, it feels like nature wrote poetry, but Sonu took it up and elevated it into a ballad that found it’s own tune. For when the forest meets the ocean, the soul heals in many ways. Every imperfection that the forest and beach lend to the immaculate resort add to the beautiful feeling of wabi sabi- where everything, even the imperfections make the world perfect.

Soneva Kiri is, simply, exceptional.

It’s a luxury experience, but completely free from stuffiness and formality. Being barefoot the whole time is a total joy. The villas are out of this world. The food is, without exception, outstanding. The spa treatments are excellent. Getting around in a buggy is brilliant. We did a cooking class which we loved. The beaches are stunning. We’ve been lucky enough to stay at Soneva Jani and Soneva Fushi in the past, and both were superb, but Kiri was ahead of them both for us.

The thing which really made the trip for us was Best, our Barefoot Guardian. She planned our itinerary and made everything special. From beginning to end she anticipated our needs almost before we did. She is an absolute credit to Soneva, and it was a delight to have her as part of our holiday.

But all the staff were great. I could go on and on about how brilliant this trip was, but I will just say we will remember it for the rest of our lives, and I cannot recommend a trip to Soneva Kiri highly enough.

Hello! My husband and I stayed at Soneva after our wedding and had such an amazing experience. Our host, Ploy, was exceptionally attentive and accommodating, making our stay truly unforgettable. The food at the hotel was absolutely delicious, and the service was top-notch. We highly recommend Soneva for a relaxing getaway!

Thanks you once again to everyone at Soneva Kiri, this was our 3rd visit and each time the Martin family loved every minute. The staff are absolutely amazing, our Barefoot Butler Fon is an excellent asset to Soneva. The rustic villas, golden beaches and food is out of this world. Our two boy's adore the eco dens and gives us adults some downtime. There is so much to do, outdoor cinema, this time we had a wonderful massage, Thai cooking course and all very well organised.

What can I say? This place was absolutely fantastic. Until now, I've never been able to say that I had THE perfect holiday. From the food to the activities to the scenery to the 5 star service, absolutely nothing has compared to my stay at Soneva Kiri. Our barefoot guardian, Best, was indeed the BEST, anticipating every one of our needs, even before we realized we needed them. Everyone on staff was so friendly, helpful, and nice. I highly recommend the cooking class, snorkeling, the wine dinner, treepod, fishing... ok, I guess I recommend it all. You will not be disappointed!

Outstanding service. I've stayed in multiple hotels in Thailand and I'd say this is better than four seasons options here. Absolutely stunning location. But level of detail in service and hospitality is what takes the cake.

Unbelievable service down to every little detail — they think of everything. We celebrated our daughter’s 5th birthday here and were blown away by the effort they put into making it special, with handmade decorations, a video compilation with pics from our stay, and invites that they made for her to hand out to the other children. That’s just one example of several. And everything is thoughtfully eco-friendly too, using recycled materials in the kids club (the Eco Den) and minimizing the footprint whenever possible…which leads me to my only caveat, which is that the rooms are all made from bamboo and wood and very beautiful but a bit rickety, which would be no problem for adults but gave us slight concern with small children. It just meant that we had to be extra vigilant accompanying them around the property, but a small price to pay for truly exceptional hospitality in a fantastic location with amazing food and activities. It’s a very special spot.

Soneva Kiri is now our favourite resort in Thailand! We flew there from Bangkok International Airport to what is apparently the smallest airport in Thailand. Landing in this bare-bones jungle airfield immediately conjured up feelings of yesteryear air-travel to far flung lands. And being then whisked off to a waiting launch to take us to the resort only added to that feeling.
Staff lined up to meet guests on arrival where our butler introduced himself. We were given our own buggies to get around with and so we toured the resort, which turned out to be quite large. It really wasn’t until the third day before we stopped making wrong turns when getting around.
They have several restaurants within the resort, as well as one just outside which can be accessed by road or boat. All serve excellent food, with many ingredients home grown. They have an all-you-can-eat vegan chocolate room and ice-cream bar, which I often stopped by at. Most memorable moments for us were a dinner at their restaurant on the mangrove, which we took the boat to just at sunset, and the Treepod Dining where we were lifted above the jungle canopy for a meal overlooking the sea.
Our accommodations were gorgeous with our villa having not only its own pool but also a private beach. Nice touches with a Smeg fridge and other cute amenities. The outdoor bathroom was beautifully designed and comfortable. Usually you’d worry about mosquitoes in such a jungle setting in Thailand, but we didn’t notice much of them here.
If you’re looking for great selfie moments, this is the place! I couldn’t stop taking pictures of our villa and the way the sunlight played on it. And the sea here is crystal-clear blue. Beachside dining, clifftop dining, and the aforementioned treepod and mangrove dining all lend to amazing moments. I found myself constantly eating so though there’s a nice gym with organized programs of yoga and taichi, I never went to them. Haha. I did use their spa though, which was great.
If you’re looking for a totally relaxing luxury getaway destination, this is the place!
