The location of this resort is quite good. The quality of your stay depends very on the house they will assign you. We had quite good ones but note that ways to the main building are not necessarily marked and some of them are quite slippery during / after rain. To my opinion it lacks some maintenance and house-keeping all-around the resort.

The price is way too high for what you get – a run-down bungalow, unpleasant smell, and lots of big cockroaches. The location is great, but that’s true for most places on Koh Kood. An absolute waste of money – I would never spend another night here. In fact, I ended up leaving the hotel.

We were lucky with our bungalow who was even sea view, although we have had booked garden view. The staff is kind and supportive but we didn’t like the food in the restaurant that much. The location is beautiful and with a little maintenance the place could be even nicer. The rooms are a bit old and we had some small bugs visiting from time to time. Would be nice if the hotel can invest into some nets that you can secure the beds. The close by almost private beach is amazing !

It’s a large cottage hotel and there is a private beach. We can enjoyed to stay the hotel by swimming, snookering and relaxing in the facility. Hotel staff are kindness and good service. Hotel foods also good taste.
We stayed zone A, and only one point shall improve that our room key half broken and the curtains could not cover doors completely.

This place has so much potential, however it’s clear the owners are taking all the profit and not reinvesting in their customers experience. This is proved by the room and grounds needing so much maintenance but they are currently building a new hut instead.

Pros:
Staff are lovely and helpful and the beach is amazing.

Cons:
Breakfast is terrible and they also put a lovely sign up saying it’s 2000Baht charge if you leave food on your plate, then the chef undercooks every egg and piece of bacon he serves. We stayed for two nights and after day one walked elsewhere for breakfast.

We had a beach room which has so much potential but needs some serious work, sink was falling too bits, air con unit full of mould, shower looks like it’s never been cleaned, they cut your water off on check out day so you can’t wash your hands or shower.

Staying on the beach is great but there’s a mouldy pond between your room and the beach which is disgusting to look at and stinks.

They have a small pond with some huge fish in the breakfast area. The poor fish are way too big for the pond and barely move all day.

Bikes are overpriced compared to other rentals.

Had a great time on the island, it’s truly stunning but A-na-lay was the worst part of our time here. Wouldn’t recommend.

Koh Kood is a little more expensive in general. So maybe i had the wrong expectations. The resort is a three star location. Some bungalows are a run down. Inside it was clean, outside less than i expected. There is a nice beach but no beach chairs, no food service.
My memories are mixed.

Horrible Experience at A na Lay Resort - Avoid at All Costs!

We had the misfortune of staying at A na Lay Resort in เกาะกูด, Thailand, and it was by far the worst experience we’ve ever had. We traveled all the way from the USA, only to find a place that is severely outdated and falling apart.

First, the bathroom door was practically falling off its hinges. The hot water was barely a trickle, more like a dripping rain than a shower. The refrigerator in our room was not just old but also incredibly rusty. To make matters worse, we found a cockroach in our room, which was absolutely disgusting.

The so-called "hot tub" took over an hour to fill, only for us to discover that the machine wasn’t even working. We were left with a tub full of cold water. The food at the resort was subpar at best, yet they charged exorbitant prices. To add insult to injury, the owner's nephew kept walking around the dining area, reminding everyone that they would be charged ฿2000 for any leftover food. This constant harassment completely ruined our appetite and dining experience.

Additionally, the air conditioning in our room barely worked, making it impossible to sleep comfortably in the sweltering heat. The resort grounds were poorly maintained, with overgrown weeds and broken pathways, creating an unsafe and unappealing environment. The staff were unhelpful and seemed indifferent to our concerns, providing no assistance or solutions to the numerous problems we faced.

Overall, A na Lay Resort was an absolute nightmare. We urge everyone to avoid this place at all costs. Don't fall into the trap of their misleading advertisements – save your money and stay somewhere that values its guests and maintains basic standards of hospitality. This was our first and definitely our last time at A na Lay Resort.

Pros: exceptional beach, views
- ground & house keeping staff are very friendly & helpful!
- Reception staff are courteous only until issues arise

Cons: resort is NOT accessible, extremely unsafe as far as walking around resort especially at night
Walkways are uneven, pieces of wood are missing from board walk, boulders are in the middle of main walkways
- restaurant is empty for lunch & dinner, tourists look for better tasting, much bigger portions & less expensive options from restaurants minutes from the main road

"Recently had an amazing stay at A Na Lay resort. The beach itself is stunning, with clear waters and a fantastic location. What truly stood out was the exceptional service – the staff went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. Highly recommend for a wonderful beach getaway with top-notch amenities and hospitality!"

We got a bungalow for three person. And the extra bed was like sleeping on wooden floor. Room was nasty looking. Price per night was so overpriced. Sink was fallen out of wall.

E: After asking the about the bed they bringed 3-5cm thick matress so no any help.

Highly not recomended this place
