SriLanta Resort and Spa

I think the staff here are definitely committed to improving the resort with the ongoing renovations to the property, but as of my stay in early November 2025 there is still a long way to go and you’re rolling the dice as to whether you’ll have a room in acceptable condition.

My room was clearly pretty tired, with trim work falling apart and the drywall being in super poor condition. The room smelled strongly of mildew and the water in the shower was lukewarm at best at the highest setting. The public areas of the resort are okay (the pool wasn’t in great condition though) but there’s some sanitation issues around the resort and it smells like sewage pretty badly.

The pizza place on the resort was fantastic. Service was good as well and the employees are clearly dedicated to improving the resort which is admirable.

The resort was very quiet when I was there at the very beginning of tourist season - it’s well located, but only stay if you rent a scooter because getting around only using tuk-tuks is pretty difficult.

Stayed here for a family trip and overall enjoyed the peaceful, quiet atmosphere. The location is right by the beach, which is definitely the highlight. Staff were friendly and helpful, and room/transport requests were handled easily via WhatsApp or Line. I stayed in the KiriLanta Star Path Suite facing the garden/jungle — nice, but I’d recommend choosing a beach-facing room if you want the best views.

Do note: some rooms are located on hilly areas (not ideal for elderly guests), and the resort is under renovation so several facilities aren’t open. Breakfast was a bit disappointing — no buffet, just basic set options. Also, mosquitoes are common given the natural surroundings (though coils are provided on request if more is needed). If you visit in October, expect windy and rainy weather — umbrellas are a must. Still, a relaxing beachside stay if you pick your room wisely.

It’s a difficult one as the staff, particularly the manager of the resort - Pop - was extremely helpful throughout our stay and had exceptional customer service. Thank you Pop. However, onto the reasons why we had to converse with him on several occasions… very tired rooms, a lack of hot water and broken bathtubs. All rectified by Pop very swiftly however I’d only recommend this resort if you choose the budget friendly room options. The upgrades - in my opinion - are simply not worth it.
