Monoceros Resort

My second stay at this wonderful place. Initially I was attracted by the beautiful, authentic Thai style of the restaurant along with its excellent food and great service. Next I fell in love with the lush and exquisitely planted garden. This was before I ever stayed here. Finally we booked our first holiday in one of the gorgeous cottages and were able to enjoy the beautiful pool, very tranquil setting and warmth and hospitality of Paul and Orm and their lovely staff. There is a very relaxed, homely and peaceful atmosphere. The location is great for exploring the many attractions in the surrounding countryside and yet is still close enough to Chiang Mai to be able to combine days in the city with easy retreats back to the oasis of calm and relaxation that Monoceros Resort provides. We love the beautiful, comfortable simplicity of the rooms and everywhere the very tasteful, Thai design. The small size of the resort affords a pleasant sense of privacy and a feeling of never being surrounded by too many people or too much noise. We love to sit out on the cottage terrace in the cool evening air when the only noise is that of the insects or occasional lizard. It is truly magical as is the very atmospheric illumination of the garden at night. The whole resort reflects a genuine passion and interest on the part of the owners to create and maintain a unique and very special place which is really a little piece of paradise. I currently have reason to be in this area twice a year and am thrilled that this means I get to stay here each trip! Monoceros will remain one of our very favourite holiday destinations in the world. Thank you Paul and Orm for providing this gorgeous haven!

Although I mistakenly booked the stay for the same day while making the reservation in the evening — meaning the check-in time had already passed by about four hours and I am quite far away in PAI (leaving next day to Mae RIM). Since it was a non-refundable, no-show booking, I initially thought I had lost it.
However, Paul, the reception manager, reached out by email to ask what time I would be arriving. I explained my mistake, letting him know I had meant to book for the following day. To my surprise and gratitude, they kindly adjusted my reservation at no extra charge.
The resort itself is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by lush greenery and filled with tranquil natural sounds. The cleanliness was outstanding.
The huts are very nice. The toilet and shower were stylish, modern, and spotless. I had a very comfortable stay, and the breakfast was of excellent quality.

I've be coming here for years. It's simple, green, and welcoming. I try to come here every year.

Comfortable bed, room is cozy, the garden is a masterpiece. It’s just so relaxing in this place, breakfast is nice and coffee was decent.

Highly recommend the place for quality rest.

An oasis near Chiang Mai
This is our go-to place to relax and work. The grounds are so beautifully taken care of, and the staff are lovely. A bonus is the amazing food!

Christmas Stay
We checked in on Christmas evening and had a cozy Christmas dinner in the resort. Nice ambiance with nature surroundings.

A hidden gem! Lovely place to get away from the busy city and chill. Lots of trees and a big swimming pool to relax in. Bungalow room is spacious with good privacy. Would definitely come back to stay again.

We went there looking for a quiet time in the jungle.

We got exactly this. The rooms were nice and well equiped. The swimming pool is beautiful, and cold enough to cool off after a hot day. And the restaurant is delicious and not expensive. The staff is amazing, very kind, and hard working.

Overall, we got exactly what we were looking for, and even more. I recommend ++

I am in the middle of a month long stay here. Unlike many hotels and resort, this place is more beautiful in real life than in pictures. Lush with tropical foliage, the property is impeccably well cared for, as are the cabins that surround the well maintained pool. Due to its boutique nature, it is a very calm and serene place to stay. Rooms have complete amenities, strong and consistent WiFi signals, everything is there and it works. Each room is its own separate cabin with a nice porch. The owners and staff are wonderful and friendly. The restaurant serves very good food, mostly Thai but with a few western options, including a western breakfast. The location is nearby everything in Mae Rim. Highly recommended.
