I recently spent two wonderful weeks at Good Time Sports Resort on Koh Mak with my son, and it was an experience we’ll cherish forever. From the moment we arrived, we were captivated by the resort’s serene ambiance and the warm hospitality of the staff.
Our villa was exceptionally spacious and beautifully designed, providing ample room for both relaxation and play. The surrounding tropical gardens were meticulously maintained, offering a peaceful retreat that felt like our own private paradise.
The resort’s central location made it incredibly convenient to explore the island. We were just a short walk or scooter ride away from stunning beaches, delightful local eateries, and charming shops.
One of the highlights of our stay was the array of wellness and sports facilities available. The outdoor pool was a refreshing oasis, and we both enjoyed daily yoga sessions in the open-air pavilion. The well-equipped outdoor gym allowed us to maintain our fitness routines, and we had a blast playing tennis and pickleball on the nearby courts.
Kerstin, the owner, and Peak, the manager, went above and beyond to ensure our stay was comfortable and memorable. Their genuine care and attention to detail made us feel truly valued as guests.
For those who cherish beachfront experiences, the resort offers access to a private beach, providing a secluded spot to unwind by the sea. It’s the perfect complement to the resort’s central location and lush surroundings.
In summary, our stay at Good Time Sports Resort was nothing short of exceptional. The combination of spacious accommodations, central yet peaceful location, excellent facilities, and outstanding service makes it a standout choice for anyone visiting Koh Mak. I wholeheartedly recommend this resort to fellow travelers seeking a harmonious blend of relaxation and activity in a tropical paradise.

Worst Experience as a Volunteer by Workaway – Not Recommended
This was my experience with Kerstin:
After countless messages and requests, I finally received replies only after 18 days. The tone was arrogant and selective, and I sensed a negative perception towards me following my introduction in the chat. This was later confirmed by another volunteer who had a conversation with the host about me.
The agreement was 6 hours a day, 6 days a week, with breakfast and lunch included.
I never had a direct meeting with Kerstin in the first few days, as she was always busy and canceled two scheduled appointments with me, delegating another volunteer to introduce me, show me around, and explain the tasks.
From the first day, this volunteer — who basically managed my tasks — told me to work from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., with a one-hour break. My duties mostly involved gardening, cleaning, and some simple repairs.
Apparently, I was working one hour less than what Kerstin expected. When she realized this — ten days later, since she provided no supervision or management — she didn’t take it well, believing I was lying to gain more free time without her knowledge. After I explained and apologized for the misunderstanding with the other volunteer, I asked to negotiate a bit more free time, pointing out that the working hours were closer to that of a full-time employee rather than a volunteer. As far as I know, the Workaway policy always includes two free days and a maximum of five hours of work per day. This was clearly beyond that.
Kerstin’s response was to ask me to leave 48 hours after my request, saying she didn’t want “unhappy” people at her resort, disrupting my plans since we had agreed on a three-week stay that ended after only ten days.
I wasn’t the first to be asked to leave early — it happened to others before me as well.
Breakfast was almost non-existent: water, tea, and milk were available, but there was little food and always improvised.
Lunch was excellent, always ordered from a restaurant.
The resort itself is very beautiful and in a great location on the island.
It’s a shame, because the atmosphere felt more exploitative than one of group spirit, communication, and local culture.

I had a fantastic time at Good Time Sports Resort. I had a very nice Thai style room, very spacious, with beautiful wood furniture, nicely decorated. It also had a really big terrace with view into the garden - which I loved, it felt like a jungle paradise with all its trees, palms, beautiful flowers and birds. It was so nice to swim in the pool and do yoga surrounded by this beautiful nature. A lot of restaurants and cafes were just a few minutes aways, still the place was calm and peaceful. The owner and team were great, caring a lot about their guests and making this stay just perfect.

I stayed at Good Time for one month, and it was the perfect place to rest and recharge. The environment is beautiful, with a peaceful atmosphere that radiates positive energy. The staff were friendly and it’s a great spot for a long, relaxing stay. Plus, it's a place where you can enjoy an outdoor gym, making it ideal for those who love staying active in nature.

I highly recommend coming to this place. A great view (depending on the room ofc), very friendly staff & owner, including pick-up and drop-off service to the pier.
Even though it was quite rainy, I was able to enjoy my time here!

We had a wonderful stay in Good Time Sports Village. Very friendly staff, Kerstin was very helpful. The resort has a nice yoga hall in the garden and provides yoga classes.
Situated up a small hill, you can reach beautiful beaches on either sides of the island, 5-10 minutes by foot, or rent scooters.
We had also a wonderful day snorkeling, which was worth it.
Thanks 🙏🤗

It took a while but we still needed to write our review from our stay. We visited last november and we can say without doubt that It was the best experience we had from our entire trip in Thailand. Kerstin and Mr. Peak Made sure that we where in the best possible hands and They are great hosts. The location is amazing, the facilities are superb. When one of our bags fell off the golf cart while we were heading to the docks, Mr. Peak scootered his way back in James bond style to retrieve it. Extra kudo’s. All jokes aside. Good Times resort is the place to be when visiting koh mak.
Much love,

We booked at Good Times Resort for an expected 17 days and initially planned to stay even longer from all of the positive images and nice conversation with the owner, Yodying I had.
Once we got there, the bed and pillows were extremely hard, and the "kitchen" I was promised was just a sink on the balcony outside with some coffee cups and an electric tea pot.
The room uses the same wifi as the check in "co work" station, so I could not hold a connection while in the room. Major issue as a remote worker.
Internet was good in the co work area.
They are horribly understaffed, with the co owner Kerstin working in the morning, and an older gentleman Mr. Peak working the entire rest of the day by himself.
He is always running around and while his energy levels are truly impressive, it leaves the resort very hard to reach anyone when an issue arises. There is just too much on Peak's plate for everything to be taken care of.
We were left without a ride back after taking a boat to Koh Chang, and I couldnt get a hold of anyone except Yodying, who was not on the island.
He was very emotionally charged and told me to blame Mr. Peak and threaten he will get fired. I told him it is not my responsibility to tell him that and I wasn't even that mad.. just trying to figure out if I should buy a taxi or not.
He offered a refund, which I took, because of the stress of not being able to get work done efficiently and the uncomfortable bed and kitchen.
Yodying proceeded to argue with me via text and was even rude at points. I will say Kerstin and Mr. Peak were very kind, but Yodying was rude and stress inducing to speak with
After some back and forth, he sent me a partial refund for the remaining time about 3 days after we left the island
As for the island itself... its pretty cool and little. Good for a short term stay in my opinion. The beaches have lots of bars along, so its not clear if you need to be staying at a resort or be a customer at a bar to use the beach. Free spots can be found though if you explore. Limited restaurants, so expect to eat almost entirely Thai food throughout the day. Food is great at them though
All in all, if you want to stay at Koh Mak, I'd recommend one of the other accommodations and resorts
