Of the resorts on Koh Mak this is our favorite. It is a small and quiet island sand it easy to get around. While staying here we checked out most of the other resorts on the island. Other resorts have better restaurants and reception areas, but the beach bungalows at Koh Mak Resort have better and prettier location. And the beach is better (less rocks in the water) than on any of the other locations.
If we should go back we would stay here because of the location and the beach which are what we value most.
Note: a family villa/bungalow is nothing more than 2 regular bungalows. It is two different units and they are not joined by an inner door.

WARNING THIS IS A FULLMOON PARTY PLACE AND BEACH,
This is probably the most difficult review I ever written, because Koh Mak resort is worth at least three stars. Why do I just rate it one?
We spent five night after Christmas here. Three nights and days was totally destroyed because of Full moon party’s with really really strong music on the beach until 06,00 in the morning. Those were held at our hotel and neighbourhood resorts. In my opinion the hotel owners choose easy and fast cash when agreed to let them have the party at their places before taken care of guests like family’s and elderly that can afford this hotels in the long run.
Our hotel solved it by giving us back money for three nights. But still my vacation was ruined and me and along several more guest will never go back.
JUNKIE ISLAND
All over the island we meet stoned people, junkies and drunken youth that visited full moon party night time. On the beach there were so mutch litter and even needels.
So I think Koh Maak hotel owners are up to desied what kind of destination they would like to be. SO THIS IS A WARNING, ask before you make a reservation at Koh Mak resort and other resorts.
Koh Mak resort it self is in many ways good. It’s located beautiful and the staff especially front desk manager and the two men there were great. Hotels restaurant ain’t that good, messy and not any cosy at all. Chose others.
The small cafe is nice!
The same family runs the neighbourhood resort Sevana. It’s fantastic!!! Cool restaurant, super friendly staff and great food. Thanks for a fantastic new year’s dinner.

Came here spur of the moment from
Koh Kood and am so glad we did. It’s a fantastic place to relax and chill on a beautifully peaceful, empty strip of beach on one of the least developed islands in all of Thailand. Service was excellent too - they let us check out late so we could enjoy the room until it was time to go to our ferry. Breakfast was ok. Will go back again one day.

I just had a beer on the beach. It's next to the pier. It's a bit pricey compared to most bars, but a great location.

Casual beach front resort. Other than the perfect sunsets what makes Koh Mak Resort so special is the staff. They are the best and really do a great job of making sure that you are taken care of. I will never forget these beautiful people and the memories that they helped us make.

Been to beaches around the island and this is the cleanest with a nice reef for snorkeling. The resort is a little long in the tooth, but has a beach charm to it. The onsite restaurant and bar has some of the best food and service in Thailand! The resort cleaning staff is awesome, I left my glasses out and got a very funny surprise. All in all my wife and I loved it here and had a much needed week-long vacation!

Very basic all sea view chalet that’s old and tired, located on the best beach in KM. Staffs are not very helpful and unfriendly. Breakfast was simple, the food at the restaurant was not good. The Information point centre staff (German lady) was unfriendly and abrupt.
There was a big spider crawling in our room one morning and every night I was woken up by lizard noises.
The staffs don’t speak English. We were not told there’s a swimming pool located at the end of the resort and only found out on our last day. The pool area was old and not inviting.
Seavana resort next door serves very good food with very friendly staffs and the price was reasonable!
Overall unpleasant experience, won’t be coming back. 👎🏼

The best....... surreal location on a quiet island. The bungalows are out of this world. Could definitely retire here.
