Mira Montra Resort Koh Mak

The room had a sea frontage with a panoramic view of the bay and had a stylish design with two showers, one inside and one out. A welcome drink on arrival and complimentary snacks in the room. We enjoyed cocktails by the swimming pool and had massages both days of our stay. Swimming in a warm clear sea with a well kept beach and gardens. We stayed in the hilltop rooms which were the worst on the resort. You had to walk up uneven and badly kept steps to get down to the rest of the resort. They were difficult to walk on with wet flip flops The water in the shower also had low water pressure. The beach and sea view villas looked amazing though, so try to book them if you can. The pool overlooked the sea which was a delight and the beach although small was cleaned regularly and you could always get a sunbed. Plenty of shade too.The breakfast was average and they supplied sandwiches between 3-5pm which was a nice touch. The food in the evening was below average as well as the cocktails. They wanted to close early so the restaurant was closed by 8.30 and the doors were shut. Service was Ok but we have had much better in previous hotels we have stayed in on this holiday.This wasn’t a problem for us because taxis were cheap and we go into town where there were enough restaurants to choose from. Try out the Art Studio Bar at the top of the hill.

Really loved our stay here. The staff are so sweet and nice and the food is good too. I would recommend to rent a motorbike though to explore the rest of the island. (which can be rented at the resort itself)

Staying only at this resort would be a waste in my opinion, since there are plenty of beautiful spots to see. The rooms are of high quality and are very clean. We also had a balcony to dry our clothes. Best bed I slept in during my stay in Thailand too!

We spent 3 nights at the resort.
It’s a beautiful spot on Koh Mak. A little out of track, therefore needs transportation if you want to fine out or just explore the island.
The rooms are nice and big. The beachfront villa is wonderful and located 20 meters from the sea line (the only problem with it was many ants inside the room).
Kayaks and snorkeling equipment are free. There are nice beaches and small islands around. Snorkeling is a bit disappointing and better elsewhere in Thailand.
Moving around in the island can be done by many scooters (Scoopy) that the resort has (300 bahts per day) or by club car (1000 baht per day). It’s better to check the scooters as some of them are not well maintained (2 of the 3 we took were completely unstable).
The resort is not accessible. If you have problems with stairs, you will not be able to get to the reception/dining room or even to the regular rooms.
Sidehill rooms are away up the hill, even though they are big with nice view.
The pool is nice by away to small to host all the visitors. I went twice to see that all the beds are occupied and left..
The food is average, although breakfast is good with large variety. The service in the restaurant is lazy and do not match reasonable resorts/hotels (if it matters to you).
Reception is usually welcoming and nice. But, one of the ladies there were rude.

The resort is quite big but remote. That means if you do not want to have beach activities ( swimming in the sea or infinity pool or kayaking or on a board) or burn under the sun,the remaining activities are the petanque, table tennis or playing cards.
Rooms are big and of several types. Food is good on the premises. Breakfast can make you full for the rest of the day with a buffet with variety of food and drinks.
It is also possible to rent a motorcycle or an electric golf cart per day. Wifi is everywhere within the resort. Service is good

Room is amazing close to the beach, free use of water sports equipment is a big bonus. The pool is perfectly located by the beach. WiFi is good for this island. The food is bad, I had a glass noodle salad that had so much salt my tongue was raw after 1 bite, I couldn’t eat it but it’s 170baht!!! Penang chicken was watery and sweet. Rent a motorbike and go out to eat if you stay here, otherwise it’s very nice for 2 nights.

An incredible stay at Mira Montra from start to finish. We were so impressed by the service, including pick up from the boat (which we didn't even explain when we were due to arrive), the free kayaks/paddle boards, the complimentary afternoon tea, quality of the rooms and the caring nature of the staff. They helped to arrange and drop us off at our next boat, which made it much less stressful.
We really enjoyed the breakfast. The view was to die for, and the resort itself was a close bike ride to the other bars/restaurants. We can not comment about the lunch or dinner in the hotel as we ate elsewhere and also rented a bike from down the road.
I'm so glad we made this trip and chose to stay here. I would definitely recommend!
