We had a fantastic stay at Monkey Island! The owners, Pan and Micky, were incredibly welcoming and went above and beyond to help us organize trips, massages, and even provided some fun evening entertainment. The food was absolutely delicious and reasonably priced. Our hut had a stunning ocean view and was very comfortable—perfect for relaxing. We truly loved our time here and can’t wait to come back!

I couldn’t imagine staying anywhere else on the island! The rooms were comfy, right on the beach, and conveniently located for exploring. Micky and his wife took amazing care of us. They take Thai hospitality to the next level. Pan’s cooking was incredible and Micky kept us constantly entertained with stories of the resort, history of the island, and an unforgettable evening concert of original yukelele, and kazoo singalong beach songs. We can’t wait to go back during high season for one of his famous parties! - Blade and Jeanne

This old resort needs more action from the owners and staff, mostly of the huts are abandoned and destroyed full of trash everywhere, there are just 5/6 huts still going old style basic but ok for 800 with fan. Sadly the beachfront and the garden are full of plastic drift from the high tides but the staff is not cleaning it and the scene is not good. The girl at the reception speaks perfect English and managed to rent us a scooter and to do the tickets for boat bus and train very quickly and kind. Another dude is rolling joints 24./24 instead of keepin clean the place. Next time I would go on the opposite beach that is so much cleaner and nicer even if the huts are more expensive but worthy

1 star for its location, restaurants & shops super close by & 2nd start for her food! Other than that it was a real disappointment, nothing like its forever glory in 2018. Yes, Corona happen but it seems that the priorities are set on smoking 🍃 rather than looking after the property. The few huts that have been rebuilt look great on first sight but its damp inside, the mattress is harder than the ground and there are plants growing through the floor. The old bar is completely destroyed and no attempted had been made to rebuild. Sad! Hopefully it returns to its former glory and we can come back then.

Truly beautiful place, fantastic islands, fabulous sea, exciting and unforgettable trips, definitely worth visiting.

I think this place has seen better days. The location is great, right on the beach, but there are better budget options on the island. I stayed in a bungalow with a shared bathroom which seemed dirty, had lots of mosquitoes and you were lucky to find toilet paper. The manager also seemed to be a combination of rude /confused/incompetent. Also they play live music until late at night, so keep that in mind if that's not your thing.
