Ao Cho Grandview Hideaway Resort

AMAZING!!!! please don’t listen to the negative reviews. THE SERVICE WAS AMAZING!! The rooms were clean and newly renovated, i have had enough of old run down hotels and this did not disappoint. The staff went above and beyond to cater to my girlfriend’s elderly dad and made the experience so pleasant. The only downside was the price of the food and it was mediocre but there’s multiple restaurants next to the hotel so it didn’t matter. PLEASE PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOUR AND COME HERE.

Really central hotel, a bit further from the noisy town but close to all the beaches, everything seemed to be about 6-10 mins away on a motorbike. Really friendly and helpful staff, the rooms were a little older and they were doing some construction at the hotel but other than that it was a nice stay. Beachfront hotel - doesn’t have a pool but really nice beach there.

The hotel is located in a quiet area of the island and has nice, clean rooms with great beds including musquito nets. Staff is friendly and restaurant is good. The only thing we were missing as a family with young children was a swimming pool. For the

The hotel:
We stayed in 2 rooms suite with a private pool. That room is fantastic, highly recommended! We really enjoyed the pool hidden in bamboos.
Paid 250+ euros/night for 2 adults and a kid, and the room was worth everysingle euro.

Ocean front suites are also cool, the rest of rooms- I’d say they are overpriced given the quality

Reception is old, breakfast is poor. No common pool in the hotel at all. The good thing is that the beach is literally 10-20 meters away. And sunbeds are free for hotel guests

The restaurant
It sucks. Expensive and not really tasty. Be advised that they include into the bill 10% service and 7% “tax”
For example, I took pina colada for 350 + 17% extra charges, and it was absolutely plain (pina is 180 in almost all beach restaurants on this and other beaches)

The beach
Ao Cho is a perfect place for those seeking silence and absence of crowds. I came here second time and it is same great

This was my third visit to your lovely hotel in only a few months. During the last two visits I stayed in Hillside bungalow which I love. The bungalow has everything you need and with comfy beds and good working aircon. All the staff that I have met are professional, helpful and very friendly which makes me feel more at home. The beach bar makes good cocktails, and it is nice to "chill" on the beach around sunset (even if you cannot see it! :-)) and enjoy cocktails. Normally I do not eat breakfast. However, I think the breakfast menu is ok. It has the essential food (European) bread, butter, jam, cereals, yoghurt, egg-station, etc. albeit my favorite is the noodle soup or the congee.
I know I will return to Ao Cho Grandview Hideaway Resort for my next visit to Koh Samet.

Very typical Koh Samed accommodation. When you show up everything seems great and beautiful, but the longer you stay, the more you realize it’s a typical budget island resort. On first look, the rooms seem great(garden view room), but after the first night there are ants, then the toilet clogs repeatedly, and the fridge is exceedingly loud.

The free breakfast was awesome, really enjoyed the selection and the espresso machine. They have kayaks and snorkeling gear for free use. The private beach is quiet and very comfortable. The restaurant food is wonderful, however the wait can be exceeding long depending on how many customers are there.

Overall, we had a wonderful time, and I would say, for the price, we did feel like it was a good value, while booking on 1 days notice.

Also, the resort has quite a few resident cats, which we happened to see as a perk. Cool cats, especially Seymour, the breakfast cat. (Pictured)

I've been visiting this hotel for 4 times and I still can count on the service and how clean the hotel is.
Excellent internet speed
I'd like to give a shout out the staff, especially the bartender guy. He deserves the best staff award. He has been taking care of us since early morning all the way through drink service at night.

The beach was quiet and lovely and the property felt safe and welcoming. The location felt authentic and all the staff were very friendly, attentive and kind. I felt like I was part of a nice community. The breakfast was very good and the food at the hotel restaurant was incredible! Best curries and som tam I've had in Thailand!!! There are some stray animals walking around the beach area (dogs and kittens) so if you don't like animals you might not like that. Overall I felt very welcome and enjoyed my relaxing time here. The restaurant on the beach right next to the hotel is also owned by a really friendly family and they make great Thai iced tea. Loved the experience!
