Reviews
Location is quite good. Not far from center, easy to reach by taxi. Place is quite silent night time, good to rest
Our family recently stayed at Hotel Lunay, where we reserved two rooms during a busy holiday season. Unfortunately, the only reason this hotel had availability became apparent once we checked in—it was not a good experience overall.
One notable issue with the room was the inability to lock the bathroom door. Furthermore, the shower door was missing, resulting in an open shower area that caused water to splash all around. This lack of privacy and constant wetness was quite inconvenient.
On the positive side, the sleeping area was satisfactory, and the sheets were clean. However, the study area was quite small, and beneath the desk, it was cluttered with a small ottoman and a mini fridge.
Throughout our stay, we noticed that the hotel seemed to cut corners wherever possible. For example, all the electrical outlets shut off when leaving the room, which made it impossible to charge any electronics while having breakfast. This approach felt stingy and inconvenient for guests.
The breakfast buffet, on the other hand, was a redeeming aspect of our stay. It had all the basics we typically look for, including a variety of cheeses, olives, eggs, fried fries, butter, jams, sliced tomatoes and cucumbers, watermelon, and tea.
In one of the rooms, the air conditioner was functional, but its positioning over the bed made it impossible to keep it on while sleeping comfortably. This seemed like another sneaky design flaw.
Unfortunately, both the bathrooms and the rooms themselves did not appear to be cleaned thoroughly. There was a persistent bad smell in the room, which required us to keep the air conditioner running constantly to contain it.
There were two remotes provided for the TV, but none of them successfully opened any channels. To make matters worse, there were no guidelines on how to operate the remotes, leaving us without any entertainment options.
Another inconvenience was the absence of a phone in the room. Whenever we needed assistance from the reception, we had to physically go downstairs, only to find it empty. It seemed as though the receptionists were nowhere to be found, making it difficult to distinguish them from other guests.
Although the receptionist who checked us in was polite and nice, we never saw her again after the initial interaction. It felt as if she magically appeared during check-in and then disappeared entirely.
Overall, our experience at Hotel Lunay was quite disappointing. The lack of functional amenities, inconsistent service, cleanliness issues, and cost-cutting measures detracted from our stay. While the breakfast buffet was a saving grace, it was not enough to compensate for the hotel's overall shortcomings. We would not recommend this hotel for future stays.
Apart from that there was no soap , no trash can , no kettle, mini fridge was not working, the Muslim wash in toilet wasn’t working, the shower broke. Upon complain the owner said “this is how it is and wash yourself with hand soap”. Only towels were given by hotel. The toilet was disgusting permanent brown stains all over.
