Divan Diyarbakir

When we arrived at the Divan hotel Diyarbakir the Saturday 30th of July around 19h , we were very surprised at the reception. We were 3 persons and we booked and paid before our arriving 2 separate rooms. The receptionist began automatically to say that 3 adults in the same room was impossible. She was very strict, formal and unfriendly. Finally she looked carefully at the computer and found that the reservation on booking was well done! We were confused to have such a bad welcome in a 5 stars hotel. She gave us a nice leaflet about what to do in Diyarbakir, but she told us to give it back when we leave .We went very upset In our rooms. Nobody there spoke another language as Turkish!
The day after, Sunday , we did a beautiful morning walk in the old town and we went back to make a break in the swimming pool around 15h. The staff at the Spa reception told us that unfortunately it was closed today due to the powerful cleaning powder in the water : very dangerous for the skin!!!! We were not aware about it. If they could be clearer enough, we wouldn’t be so disappointed. During the conversation, the phone rang, and the staff answered, as if we were not there. We left him and went directly to the hotel reception. Here they told us that they didn’t know anything about that strange story and told us to go down to the Spa to have more informations 🙃.
Why do they clean an hotel pool a Sunday afternoon 🙄?
After an other walk around the city, we went back to the hotel reception and finally they accepted their mistakes, they apologised and offered us a drink.

Do not choose this hotel. We got to pay for beers in the minibar even though we told that we didn't see or drank them, very irritating. Very small money but a very bad attitude in my opinion. Another annoying thing was the cleaning woman who allways came to our room when we arrived to it or if we was using the shower. It was a strategy to not have to do the cleaning maybe. The breakfast buffet has a lot of plates but not much tasty on them. There was no coffee or tea at the buffet but there was staff for this. The problem was that it took 15-20 minutes until you get any service so the breakfast was almost over They did not even see us, we have to ask for yea ir coffee every day. It looks like a quality hotel and the rooms are very nice, the problem is their service. The reception woman told us that she must let us pay for minibar because of the manager so bad management is probably included. When we wanted to extend 1 more night(without breakfast) because of flight changes, they was given us a much higher price than on internet wich we not accepted ofcourse. So no recommendations from us. Will never turn back.
