Courtyard by Marriott Amarillo West/Medical Center

Worst courtyard I have ever stayed in. They have the audacity to charge $10 for parking. Rooms are old bathroom is old looks like they tried to paint the bathroom and left different color paint all over the shower. I bought some snacks at the counter. The front desk lady could not give me a receipt for my job. do not stay at this hotel. It is terrible. Marriott should be embarrassed to have their name on this hotel

There was mold in the bathroom, the hot tub was broken, and there were a lot of unsightly stains in the room. All of this would’ve been easily overlooked if it wasn’t for the service I received after my stay. I was charged for two nights, despite only staying for one. I had a receipt showing the time we checked out. When I called to ask about it, the lady I talked to was very rude and told me that I shouldn’t have left my partner to check out for us, so it’s my fault that they didn’t properly check him out. Would not recommend this hotel

This was, by far, the worst Marriott experience I've ever had. Service was efficient, but not as friendly as any other Marriott property I've been to. They charge extra for breakfast, which I'd never seen before. They also charged for parking, even though they have their own parking lot. Many locations I've been to provide a parking "pass" to put on your car, or ask for your car information, so they can remove unwanted vehicles from their lot, but this location charged you for it.

The facility is old, poorly maintained, and my dog's nose went CRAZY here with all the smells from not being clean, which was also visually apparent when walking around.

That said, the room was warm, the shower worked fine, the bed was the standard medium-firm Marriott bed, and my bedsheets were clean. I wouldn't want to spend more than the 10hrs at this location than I did, but if you're passing through town and need a cheap Marriott property to stay at, take your chances here!

I have been a Marriott rewards member for well over 20 years going between Gold and Platinum depending on my business travel. This hotel is very tired and needs work. The door at the end of the hotel is not working. In addition, the hotel rate was $75 per night and they charged an additional $75 for a pet fee. When travelling personally we travel with our dog and have never had a pet fee anywhere near this amount. We arrived at about 7 pm and asked the front desk attendant for any recommendations for dinner. Not much help at all. We ordered pizza delivered to the hotel and went to use the microwave to warm it up and it appeared that the microwave has not been cleaned in weeks. It smelled very bad and had food splattered all over it that looked like it has been there for weeks. Also no coffee in the coffee pots in the lobby. Recommend that you not stay at this hotel as there are major issues that need managements attention.

Pool was ice cold. Hot tub was broken. Waived the parking fee because they decided not to offer breakfast the next morning. Traveling with myself and 4 kids. No bell hop carts to unpack the car and bring to the second floor. Had to make multiple trips.

The room: TV audio went in and out every 5 seconds. Asked for a replacement but said they couldn't replace with another TV. AC was broken. Only the heat worked.
Sofa bed did not come with extra pillows and blankets. Coffee maker in the room only had two packages of decaffeinated coffee! You are treated better at a 2 star hotel.
5 guests and only two towels in the room. No towels at the pool. The stay was not comfortable or pleasant.

I spent all night coughing and could not sleep. Once the sun came in, I saw clear evidence of a CAT being all over the room including a shredded lounge chair that was unmistakable. However, it was clear the hotel had TRIED to vacuum the cat fur off of everything to cover it up (which was not effective). So therefore, they knew there had been a cat in the room. The room was marketed as animal free. I am severely allergic to cats AND have asthma. This room was a severe health hazard for me. If I could give zero stars I would.

I’m fine with paid parking if the parking is secured by gate, but this is standard parking lot. What a farce. We were there for a single night and won’t be back. Room door kept sticking, water pressure was horrible with shower controls that were barely functioning. Room was in need of an update. Strange stains on the couch and ripped linings in lamp shades. I stayed on points and didn’t expect top-tier but this was sub-par to many of the courtyards I’ve stayed in. Plenty of other Marriott properties to stay at in the vicinity. Probably would have let the rest of the issues slide … but paid parking for your standard parking lot is just ridiculous.

I booked with Marriott because of the trusted name and quality. This hotel/motel was far from that. The room cards didn’t work. Hotel was not stocked with soaps in the rooms. The A/C didn’t work. Heater was stuck and taped down to one temp. No one was around to ask for help. Parking was shady. I do NOT recommend this hotel. I think this is the second one star review I’ve ever given out of a couple thousand reviews. Ice machine was broken too. And they charge $10 for parking.

My stay wasn’t great. Two separate reservations were made and when I got there I asked if it would be a problem? Did I need to check out and then check back in when the time came or could the reservations be combined to avoid the check in/check out? I was told there was no need to check out and everything would be combined. To make a long story short I ended up having to check out a day early because they said they couldn’t find the other reservation and if I wanted to extend my stay it would be an additional charge though I had already paid. So I paid for an additional day but didn’t get to stay. The hallways and rooms had a bad smell, the couch in my room had all kinds of stains on it. The elevator was slow and kept jamming.I fought with my room key to get in my room and to top it all off it’s a $10 daily parking fee. Not sure why because there’s no covered parking. I stayed from Friday to Sunday and got charged $40. The customer service wasn’t great and the lady working the front desk when I checked out was on the phone the whole time. I’ll never stay at this hotel ever again.
