Hyatt House Anchorage

My company booked a 2 week stay for our employee. They were unable to check in smoothly due to not having the correct payment on file. They called late at night to request someone to come physically provide payment, despite it being a weekend and after business hours when this is not possible. They had the correct email on file for the staff member to get the payment information from and stated they would contact them. Four days later they told our staff they could not get a key back until payment was received and that they had been calling and calling but not getting information. They listed my own personal cell phone number back which had not been called once. I again relayed they were to contact our travel department during business hours. Yet, they were addressing this issue late in the evening when nothing can be done. I was told that the hotel would not contact my business as it was "your responsibility to provide payment." I requested for the form needed to be emailed, I was told I needed to go find it myself. I asked if our travel staff could call to re-provide the credit card number on the phone, and was told this could not be done. The whole experience has been ridiculous.

The room is beautiful. Nice and comfy when you need time away. HOWEVER!!!! The staff is absolutely rude and very judgey. When trying to give a compliment towards the look of the hotel it was just shrugged off with a dirt look. Then after asking what time the pool is open till the front desk attendee said “20 more mins, but will reopen at 07:00 tomorrow morning, but its not like you going to be here anyways.” in a very snide tone. My first thought at that moment was, “What are your thoughts on why I am staying here? Do I come off as a prostitute?” Which is totally not the case my husband is standing check-in with me. She stared hard at our ID’s as if checking the address on both ID’s. Fun fact they are the same. Then snipped at us when handing back our ID’s shouting our room number. Afterwards we gathered our bags and made our way up to our room.

The customer service agent made us feel cheap and judged. Its a parents night with a babysitter not something dirty and ronchy. Again beautiful hotel but horrible customer service. We won't be staying here again. Which is shameful.

The room we stayed in was not clean. I’ve stayed in all levels of hotels and for $400/night this one is gross. I’m glad I didn’t bring a black light as I’d be scared to check the sheets.

It doesn’t look like any attempt was made to vacuum the floor, wipe the countertops or flush the toilet. Someone dropped it like it was hot and left a welcome gift for me. 🤮

The only positive thing I can say is the employee at checkout (4 am for us) was great. He offered us prepacked breakfast bags so we didn’t go hungry. That was a nice unexpected touch.
