Westgate Branson Woods Resort

I am currently sitting outside my room …. …at 4 AM…waiting on maintenance to bring me batteries to replace the dead ones from the smoke detector that has now been going off for over 30 minutes. I called the front desk to see if they had batteries that I could come down and get to replace them, since it is 4 AM! “Hazel” told me no but she could have someone come to change them, I asked if I could just have maintenance give them to me since my family was inside trying to sleep and it is 4 in the morning…. She said yes, I asked how long it would be… because it is 4 in the morning, and her reply was, “I don’t know, it depends on what else they have going on” IT IS 4 AM …. Really???
This was just the icing on the cake, we will never stay here again. Upon arrival and checking in, when we got to our room, it was not what I reserved online. I went back down to the front desk, told them I paid for a room with a balcony or terrace, they told me since I booked through a third party company there was nothing they could do. And that was that. We did go to the pool and that was nice, a little over crowded but nice. After leaving the pool a little after 9pm, we wanted food of course… the marketplace is already closed, the restaurants are already closed…. It wasn’t even dark yet…. They have one drink vending machine with 3 choices, and don’t even have an ice machine for guests to get ice. It’s quite ridiculous. You can’t accommodate guests after 8pm…. Literally. And did I mention I’m still waiting for batteries for the smoke detector… for almost an hour now… why may you ask… even if I take the batteries out, the beeping doesn’t stop!!!

The grounds were nice and the place was just beautiful. We were invited in to hear a presentation on their vacation club in exchange for discounted tickets. The presentation was nice, but our sales person was very rude and did nothing but argue with us and put us down. He actually suggested my wife seek help for her phobias!! While the place was beautiful, we will never attend one of their resorts.

THE WEBSITE HAS NOT BEEN UPDATED FOR 3 YEARS SO DONT GO ONLINE TO RESERVE OR LOOK AT THE PROPERTY! We were guaranteed many amenities that were not accessible on the property. The door to our room had been kicked in and spray painted, we found a pair of reading glasses right next to the bed so we knew the room wasn't cleaned properly, and they promised us free breakfast and when we checked in they wouldn't provide it. They constantly reminded us that it's a "resort accommodation" however the motel we stayed in was far from what they made it sound like. They told us as a benefit they would put us as close to the pool as possible, BUT the pool was empty! And the cherry on top was when I went to get coffee the coffee pot wasn't cleaned and I called to request a new one and they acted like it was so inconvenient having to bring it to the room. I stay in Branson often and I'm positive you can find much better accommodations for the same price.
