Avondale by the Sea

Was supposed to stay there in October for a long weekend. Unfortunately, the Tuesday before we were supposed to leave there was a medical emergency in the family and we were unable to go. I called from the hospital in tears asking if I could move the dates to November for I saw they were open through Nov 15. When I called I talked to an older man who I explained what I wanted to do. He explained to me that he decided to close early this year and will not be open in November when I told him his website says Nov 15 he says that it does say on the website he can change without notice. Fair enough so then I asked if I could move the dates to 2024 and was told no. I had no empathy to my situation and I really didn’t want to cancel just move my dates. So I if you want to stay somewhere that won’t accommodate you or listen and work with you then go ahead but a day later I called another place a couple doors down who was more then willing to accommodate me and move my dates if a family emergency came up so I would not lose my money.

When I made my reservation a week ago, I was assured that I would have a 3rd floor room at the best rate. Today I just checked in and the rate is currently advertised as $280 per night but I am still being charged $350 per night. On top of that, they have downgraded me from a 3rd floor room to a second floor room with the following excuse "We needed to accommodate a client staying for 5 days and we don't guarantee any rooms for stays less than 5 days." This is a disrespect and a shameful way to treat clients. I am appalled.

Good morning, I imagine that the hotel is wonderful but the staff is rude and racist, I am Latino and on Saturday I was for information for a room and since I arrived with my wife I was treated with contempt and the person who attended me with a bad character Because I didn't want to give the price of a room seeing that we were Latinos, they treated us in a grotesque and humiliating way, I'm not writing this to make a profit, but that type of person to serve customers shouldn't be like that! I hope someone has a better experience than me in this hotel because honestly I would not recommend it to anyone
