Congress Hall, Cape May1 / 50
Cape May, 200 Congress Place 🧭 Map
There is no better spot than Congress Hall in Cape May. You are in the middle of the action so you can valet your car for the weekend and walk to shops & restaurants, not to mention the beach! That's if you even want to leave. Between the Brown Room and the Veranda, there is always something going on. The food and service at the Blue Pig are always top notch. It's the perfect home base for exploring...
Such a beautiful Hotel! It was decorated beautifully for the holidays. The bar was so cozy with a beautiful vibe and gorgeous fireplace. Going to make this a holiday tradition. The rooms were clean and quaint. Loved that they had outdoor seating with heaters in the winter. Great outdoor concessions for holiday shopping. Loved the churro and hot chocolate bar. Everything was just beautiful!
Not only is this hotel steeped in history and the tradition of the east coast's first seaside resort town, they know hospitality! The hotel is located perfectly near the ocean with views galore! Our room provided the unique opportunity to see BOTH sunset and sunrise through the same window! Fireside couches, a cozy upscale bar setting and dining/shopping options on site make for a complete vacation...
I absolutely love this hotel. It's the oldest seaside resort in America. It's absolutely charming. It has a restaurant, The Blue Pig, with excellent food. There's also a coffee shop with bakery goods and sundries, along with a couple of small gift/clothing/souvenir shops. I asked for a quiet room on our 3rd visit, and the request was not honored. Also, we were shut out of the fabulous Thanksgiving...
A wonderful place. Everyone is treated with respect here and this then brings a warm and friendly atmosphere that's unmatched! Call it southern hospitality if you will. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are always fabulous at the blue pig restaurant. Top off the night listening and dancing at the boiler room.
Had drinks & dinner with family on summer night in August. We all had a great time. Wonderful setting, we ate outside overlooking the Grand Lawn with a beautiful ocean view. Service was spot on, our waitress was attentive and very professional. The meal was the best one we experienced during our stay in Cape May. We'll be going back there again but in the off-season when it's not so crowded.

The view from our 4th floor balcony was incredible. Welcoming sunrise's over the ocean and gorgeous sunsets to end the day. Location, location, location. The staff were friendly and helpful. Andy overnight especially! He helped guide us into the parking after a 15hr drive and made check in smooth and quick.
Location is the big selling point on this. We had a King suite with an ocean view. The balcony is small but adequate and the view was amazing. We were on the fourth floor and I recommend at least this high for visibility. Staff was friendly and helpful especially the overnight guy...sorry don't remember his name. Down side is the room itself was eh. No microwave in a suite...bit of a letdown.
Ocean club is centrally located in Cape May. The pool area is beautiful and resort like. They have a full service tiki bar and live entertainment during the day. The pool is clean and the chairs are extremely comfortable. Sammy does an excellent job keeping the pool area in tip top shape and his customer service skills are impeccable. We reserved two connecting rooms, one with two doubles and the other...
Amazing comfort, service, food, views, … it’s resort stay in the middle of American History. You get the best of both world! Wake up in the morning, right out of bed, open your big sliding door and right away the ocean is so close you hear the waves and see the ocean directly in front of you. Have your gourmet breakfast seaside. Get your complimentary towel and sit by the pool, order a drink in the...
Exceeded expectations. Incredible staff works diligently to cater to your family. Exceptionally clean and updated. Private beach with chair/towel service. Honestly, simply perfect. Pool feels like you’re at a Caribbean resort. Private ample parking. Pillows could be better but that’s if I’m searching for a complaint. Will definitely be back again and again. Highly recommend!!!
This applies to the Sea Salt restaurant. The food was very good and was a delightful surprise. Eclectic and our server was attentive and fantastic with coffee on anticipation.

This was our third stay at the Periwinkle and once again it did not disappoint. The property is immaculately maintained and our room was clean and spacious. It had a little balcony with a direct view of the ocean. The pool is on the small size but very clean and perfect for the property. During our stay we enjoyed hearing Kellie Glover, a talented singer from American Idol. It was a nice unexpected...
My son and I did a quick mommy and me getaway and stayed at the Periwinkle- it was lovely! The woman who greeted us at the front desk was so sweet and accommodating. We were able to park at the hotel before check -in, change in the lobby bathroom and walked across the street to the beach. The pool and courtyard were perfect after a day at the beach. Our room was clean and cool! We will definitely...
I am a budget traveler and I'm always trying to find the best price mixed with the best rated hotel for any trip we take. I go back and forth and back and forth between multiple hotels whenever my family is booking a trip and it takes me forever to finally decide. I am so glad I decided to book at the Periwinkle Inn. My husband and I had a fantastic stay! As far as Cape May goes it is a very pricey...
I stayed at the Periwinkle this past weekend and it was a great experience, rooms are nice and clean and the location is about a 20 minute walk for Washington square which was perfect and across the street from a beach entrance. When we arrived we noticed our door wasn’t locking properly but once we mentioned it to the staff they came right away and fixed it. I have stayed at other locations in Cape...
From the moment we arrived, til the day we left (3 days), this place was nice. Our room was very nice. Had a queen room with a kitchenette with a back door out to the pool area. We would definitely use this place again when we come back to cape may. We walked everywhere too. A simple place to stay for a great price. This place was clean and looked so nice. The staff was so friendly! Thanks! I recommend...

We stayed one night at Hotel Alcott after Tropical Storm Isasias knocked out power at our other hotel. They were extremely welcoming of us and we so appreciated it. Very clean rooms (on the small side for a basic queen room) but a nice comfortable place. The location is good and it’s about a 15 minute walk from anywhere in town. It is one block from the beach. Would definitely recommend staying here
Very clean, with a quiet elegance. Just a few blocks from the center of town. Our room was small but clean and elegant in every sense. The sink was a beautiful porcelain period piece, and the shower was modern with a glass divider. There is a basic breakfast every morning. There is no parking but they do offer a pass to a local public lot. We didn't find that to be a problem in the off-season...
Me and my boyfriend stayed here while on a 5 day vacation. We weren't at the hotel much except to sleep and maybe stop in for a nap, but it when we were there it was lovely. The bed was AMAZINGLY COMFORTABLE!! Lots of people complain about the room size, but it didn't bother us. The a/c in the room was nice considering it was a very hot week. The whole parking situation was a little confusing at first...
A classic Cape May Hotel, with decent service and amenities. They could certainly use some updates of infrastructure, the heat in our room was spotty, but overall a good experience.
The hotel Alcott is a beautiful hotel, we stayed over night after a wedding was hosted there. The rooms were very clean and nice. With our room we were able to step out onto the deck which was very nice. The only downside to the room was it seemed it never cooled down. Always hovered around 73 degrees I would definitely stay there again.
ALL Staff very friendly and helpful, VERY clean. Elegant. Continental breakfast every am. Beach towels given fresh every am for beach. One block from BEACH. After noon snacks of cookies and fresh lemonade Decent price at this time of year for Cape May. The Verandah restaurant on site Excellent, BYOB

Rooms spotless, clean and fresh. Service is great. Check in was a breeze. The beach and promenade are right across the street. Restaurants, Ice cream shops, and a kids arcade are all right there,so it's great if you have kids or grand kids in tow! Definitely going to return!
Room was adequate in size but the walls are paper thin. Bed was not that comfortable and the condensation from the AC unit dripped onto the middle of the bathroom floor making it slippery. The shower tub did not drain well and the tub filled up quite fast as you shower. We notified the front desk but nothing was done. We brought it up again when we checked out and they said they would bring a snake...
Rooms are a bit tired to be honest but served their purpose as somewhere to sleep - all a bit dark. The front desk were great but the verbal mouthful we got from our cleaner for leaving slightly late on our last day of 4 over shadowed this. Location is great right across from beach entrance. Rooftop has a great view but cushions for the seats/sun beds would have helped enormously!
Great location accomadating and informative staff. They were able to offer a first floor room on a short notice. Close to the beach and local activities.
There are no words to explain how wonderful The Heritage Inn is. We first met Gwen in 2017 when we arrived on a rushed trip when my husband was told to do whatever he could in his short time left. Everyone was booked when we arrived in Cape May. We were sent to The Heritage Inn as a last chance. When we arrived, Gwen greeted us with compassion and miraculously made a room available and got us access...
Great family run business. The staff is very helpful and will make sure you have whatever you want. New rooms: changes in color of walls, new carpet, super comfy beds. Awesome location, across the street from the beach an within walking distance to just about everywhere you will need! Call Direct they offer cash discount.

This was my first time here and it’s my new go to place! One of the cleanest places in Cape May! Everything was new and modern. Nothing was worn or beat up despite being near the end of season. Jamie couldn’t have been nicer! What a wonderful woman! Pleasant and helpful. Wonderful people working there. Thank you, Jamie!! I hope to see you soon again!
What a hidden gem! Service was fantastic and the place is very well maintained. It's not new or particularly quaint (in the Cape May manner) but rooms as spacious and comfortable. You feel very welcome here and the other guests have been very friendly. Definitely will stay here again.
Wonderful place to stay for a weekend in Cape May! The Inn was very helpful and accommodating to our early check in, and the room was clean and simple. A little far from the boardwalk and mall, about a mile and a half walk. Still, for the price and the quality of the room, I highly recommend! The shower pressure was excellent, and there were more than enough towels. The fridge in the room was clean...
Staff is very friendly. Our room was perfect. Jamie checked us in, she was great! Thank you Jamie for all the info about the events in Cape May.
Just stayed here for the long weekend with my wife and 2 college age sons. We have been coming to Cape May for years but it was out first time here but we will be back. The location was perfect for what we set out to do. It was close to many restaurants, shopping, and the beach (added bonus - we were on the third floor so we had a great view of the beach - even saw tow dolphins swimming the first day we were there).
Avalon by the Sea is a terrific space to stay in Cape May. Right on Beach Ave in the middle of everything. Always enjoy staying here when we visit Cape May. Clean rooms , friendly staff, complimentary breakfast. Excellent location, walk across the street and your on the beach. Quick walk to everything … leave the car ,on site parking…
Avondale’s location in Cape May is perfect for both first time visitors and regulars. There are plenty of shops and eateries on the same street, about a block or two away, and it’s only a few minutes walk from the town center where the rest of the shops and restaurants are.
Great location and rooms were very nice. Issue is that "private" balcony is not even close to being private and ice machine wasn't working. Would definitely try again but now know what to compare.

The location, the cleanliness and the attached restaurant. You can tell the housekeeper on our floor took pride in her job. Thank you Maggie! The reason they ask for a key deposit is because they are actual keys..not key cards. You get the cash deposit when you check out. You are right on the beach..expect some grit. Hard as we tried not to bring sand up to our room. Sand always finds it's way in....
Great location. Very clean. However, when they say check in is after 4 they mean AFTER 4! The old lady at the desk had an attitude when I inquired why the room still wasn’t ready. I also didn’t like a 10 AM checkout. The only other issue we had was that the room is very warm. It’s central air and not cold at all. I would recommend bringing a fan. With all this being said I would stay there again just...
Place is right on the beach which was nice. Pool was nice but could have been warmer given the time of year. Staff was very friendly and cleaning crew did a good job. Dislikes includes: room beds were uncomfortable. One room had an odor when the air was started although it dissipated by day 3. Expected more amenities for being a resort. Would have been nicer for the resort to provide some other attractions...
Been going to the Regal with my children, now my granddaughter an her family. The best deal in town. Friendly staff and who doesn't like the ocean.

Great experience! Rooms were very clean, staff was friendly and location was great! We will be coming back next year
Building and vibe is circa 1950's consistent with the whole area of Wildwood. The service was great and the staff could not have been any more accommodating. It was clean and well taken care of. The bathrooms were not up to date but it is a beach hotel after all. The 4 stars represents the price point as well. Don't confuse this with a modern resort in say Las Vegas. But for the price and the location...
I've reviewed this place a few times and most recently my wife and I have been going to Wildwood for 9 years. The past several years we've stayed here at the Ala Kai. I loved the whole vibe of the place. The owner was amazingly sweet, family friendly place, exceptional cleaning staff, very accommodating, beautiful property, and i can’t say enough wonderful things!
We didn't come to Wildwood Crest to watch tv, but the lineup sucks. No ball. No game shows. Supposed to be an efficiency. Stove didn't work, no cooking utensils. The worst part was that on the floor above us it sounded like a bunch of mastodons were having a roller hockey tournament, even in early and late hours. The Pyramid is very well kept and the owners were pleasant. Good bed.
Awesome. The pool was incredible! The water slide was so fun! The place was so close to the beach. Very family friendly and quiet. The room wasn’t anything fancy, but it had everything that we needed. A full sized fridge, a little stove, microwave, storage for food. Perfect, so we didn’t have to eat out for every meal. Owners are very nice and accommodating. Rooms were clean and the location is GREAT. A little pricey for the size of the room… but overall we would certainly come back!! P.S. bring your own hairdryer.
The other reviews are accurate: this hotel provides a 5 star experience because the owners live on site and pay attention to every detail. Very family friendly and quiet after 11 pm. Whereas I wouldn't suggest this motel as your primary destination in the Wildwoods it is a good, clean, safe, accommodating spot to park your family for the weekend. Due to covid, cleaning rooms was not available...
Nice price. Friendly employees. A few friendly suggestions. The sofa bed should be in the front room where the TV is with the cocktail table and the double bed should go into the middle room where the bathroom is. Water pressure in shower very low. Not sure that can be adjusted but would be nice to have more water pressure. Also should invest in a gas BBQ grill for people to grill if they choose too...
The service was exceptional! We stayed in one of the larger rooms/apartments and it was really great! Everything was very clean and the decor was modern (unlike other places in the area). The pool pool was great size and has 2 nice Jacuzzis attached. My family and I will be back next summer for sure!

The room and location was great. Room was very clean. Service was great. The only reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is the bed wasn't the most comfortable, but everything else was superb.
Ample space for 4 adults and 2 children. Loved the deck space for cooking out and the kids loved the mini golf. Pool was well maintained. I loged the 1 foot section for my infant. They also have activites throughout the day on the deck. Best breakfast food at the beach at the restaurant! Banana chocolate chip french toast was amazing. Would go there again just for the food!!!!

I've been staying there several times a year for many years.....I have great memories being there with my late friend Jim. He loved sitting on the deck and walking on the beach. We stayed here for two nights and will absolutely come back. It's 2 blocks from the beach and the start of the boardwalk. It's a 5 minute walk to the convention center. I think the owner was the one who took care of us. The rooms were super clean. The pool was heated and felt great. We will come back next year.
We stayed here for a night which worked out really well for us because we had to get a room last minute. We ended up staying with my sister and her boyfriend. Thankfully we were able to get a room with two separate bedrooms. The only thing that is pretty bad is the parking. Each car is butted up against each other.
I was surprised at how freakin clean our room was. I normally hate hotels because of how dirty they are. THERE WAS NO DUST. There was no mold or mildew in the bathroom which is usually the worse. And it's an older style bathroom so you would really think there would be... nope. They have a stove, fridge(normal size), microwave, and pots and pans. Blankets were brand new which is another plus because...
We have stayed here in the past and would stay in the future as well. The rooms are always clean and well taken care of. The only issue we have had with the American Safari Hotel is the fact our sheets were damp from the air conditioner. We contacted the maintenance department and they came up as soon as we called and fixed the problem. I highly recommend this hotel
Very clean establishment. Staff was courteous. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in wildwood.

Very nice and welcoming service. Check in was a breeze. The room smelled very fresh and was nice and cold. King bed was great fresh sheets and pillows was awesome. Big bathroom with a great shower, bathroom was clean with plenty off white towels and wash clothes. I had a four day stay and room was vacuumed twice and trashed emptied which was great. A nice fridge bigger then a mini fridge. Both TVs...
Not the Taj Mahal but I didn't feel like driving back to Delaware after a service call for work and the room was cheap, clean and the owner was friendly when I called at 12:30am so this joint was a win for me.
We needed a place under $100 and this fit the bill. The staff is nice and helpful, the rooms are small, shower, fridge, microwave, tv, and two very firm beds. This was a clean place with a pool that was close to quite a few beaches. I would recommend it if your just passing through.
Good value, rooms were clean. The ac unit was a little loud and the TV barely gets any channels (doesn't get travel Channel or ESPN???) area is quiet and there is plenty of parking. Wifi signal is decent.
I stayed in 1 room with noisy AC and noisy fridge. The room was not prepared cooled for the guest, bathroom had one switch fan was forced to run with light which was quite loud, rooms noisy because close to highway, doors didn't insulte noise or air or bugs, half inch gap could be seen around the door. Overall not bad, but priced steeply. It's a motel not a hotel.
A great little hotel, very clean, 9' pool, friendly owner. A tad expensive, but worth it for proximity to Cape May.
