Comfortable rooms. Friendly staff. Good pool. Free breakfast. Caught a large roach in our room. Front desk staff seemed largely uninterested. Maybe that's a regular occurrence? Okay as a budget travel property. Definitely not a luxury property.

I normally stay with Hyatt hotels as I am a member but this one has been the worst one I stood at. They are not that big at keeping the place clean. You can see the stains on the couch as soon as you walk in the lobby. My room was on the first floor and the bathroom had mold in the grout. The walls are thin. I can hear everything the person upstairs was using the bathroom or taking a shower. The front staff was fine nothing special.

Comfortable, quiet, well appointed rooms close to where you want to be. The surrounding area is being developed so it will only get better. The staff was pleasant and attentive.
If I had to make one gripe, it's that the toilet on the 4th floor ran a little slow. Not exactly a small complaint, but not trip ruining either. A great experience.

Disgusting location. One of the less appealing looking out of all Hyatt locations I’ve stayed. Upon entering, the building smells stale and you can tell it’s old. This is the only Hyatt I’ve ever seen that charges for late checkout ($20-30 for an additional two hours), breakfast (another $20-30), etc. (even for members) and has you sign some form saying you won’t make noise basically. The worst part is that the customer service is abysmal. After reserving a room and traveling all the way across the water, we were left stranded because they don’t tell you until arrival that they also have a policy that only allows certain type of debit cards that you MUST provide even if you pay in cash. Service couldn’t seem less sympathetic or interesting in providing a solution. Basically just shook their head and said “no” repeatedly after trying with TWO different cards they rejected. Not surprised other reviews have commented about racial discrimination. RUN away from this place, genuinely made me rethink ever visiting another Hyatt location.

This resort is the best rated in this area. I've been coming here for a long time. If you stay for a few days you definitely will love it I'm sure!
We drive cross country to visit family for a couple weeks every year and last year we found this place, we LOVE it so much we came back again this year. Our daughter absolutely enjoys being here (and of course loves the pool). The staff is amazing and actually remembers us from last year. Will definitely make this our yearly stop.

Awesome hotel & the staff up front is stellar! I agree with the other shower comments. I don't think it's a GREEN initiative. Just luke warm & low pressure. Other than that. This my new spot!

This hotel was exceptional, affordable, clean, and all around exactly what we had hoped for during our three day stay. There are staff everywhere maintaining the hotel, breakfast was stocked, fresh, and there were wonderful options. The indoor heated pool was a highlight of our stay with our two children. The staff kept the pool room stocked with towels and the bathrooms exceptionally cleaned. Our room was functional and comfortable for all of us. This hotel seemed to be popular this particular weekend we had stayed and we met some wonderful people to hang by the pool with. I feel that we were accommodated and the environment was comfortable, and our state was affordable. We will definitely be staying here for future visits again

I love Hyatt Place and it is my go to hotel when traveling. This location is my first pick when visiting Norfolk VA area due to it's proximity to good dinning and being central in Hampton Roads Southside. I often travel w my dog and it is very dog friendly. This location is starting to show it's age in the carpets and my bedside light didn't work. I had to request towels as there were none in the room upon check-in. Overall it's still my top pick.
