Motel 6-Duluth, MN

I literally had a surgical procedure done at an office visit, so asked if we could check in at 1, they said earliest we could check in was 2 and we would be charged 25 bucks extra! We canceled and went to wyndham where they got us in at 1 and rooms were way nicer

The door had a half-inch gap all of the way around it that let in light and sound (we stuffed towels under the door to help with that). Our first-floor room must have been located near the stairs because we heard loud stomping and bangs as people tromped up and down all night long. The room seemed fairly clean. The bed was extremely uncomfortable; it felt (and rustled) like a bag full of tissue paper every time I rolled over. The shower, even when turned to "hot" as far as it would go, felt like a barely lukewarm bath. And there was no shampoo--I had to purchase some from a vending machine. I assumed that for $120 dollars per night, we would at least get a tiny bottle of shampoo. Also, after asking a few locals about the location of the hotel, we were told not to walk too far because the area isn't very safe.

Positives: The staff was amazing. They were unfailingly positive and helpful. Also, the Duluth Grill, which is located directly adjacent to the hotel, was absolutely fantastic.

Location was good....

This Motel 6 is easy on, easy off hwy 35....a good location. Bring your own soap and shampoo. Rooms had hard wood floor which made everything louder for some reason....you could hear everything going on in the hallways. Bathroom floor was not clean and had long hairs all over...not a fan :-/ Take your shower early....as hot water runs out fast. Beds were not comfortable, back hurt the next morning. Good cable service. Very simple motel...not a lot of parking. Guest Service people were nice. Very good, but pricey family restaurant in front of motel.
