Clean room. Comfortable bed. Courteous staff. Conveniently located just off Hwy 53. Free tea making facilities available all day in lobby. Free breakfast provided but can't speak to the quality as we didn't try it.
we traveled to duluth for the weekend to snowboard at spirit mountain. loved that it was only a 5 min drive to spirit! also was only about a 10 minute drive to do just about anything in downtown duluth. so very convenient location. the staff was very friendly and welcoming from check in to check out. seems like the hotel had a recent renovation. they recently added a new elevator which isn’t working...
Very clean, well maintained motel. Convenient to activities. Very nice pool and rooms were nicely furnished. Staff were very friendly and attentive. We will definitely stay again. Thank you!
Very nice pretty clean room. Even had a jacuzzi in the room-my favorite part- as well as a separate shower and toilet. Only negative was that our heat didn't work and the AC fan wouldn't shut off so it was blowing cool air all night. But that Jacuzzi!??
Nice place friendly staff. Only stayed one night but room was clean and bed was comfy. Recommend staying here if you are in the area.
Clean room, up to date facilities, friendly staff, very clean pool, clean hot tub, quality sauna, discount for Spirit Mountain skiing.

Breakfast was great, I really like scrambled eggs. I like the location it's my favorite place, quiet area. I like the evening cock tail bar, makes it relaxing. I liked the TV because it was very user friendly. I liked that they provided a smoking area with tables chairs and flowers in a sunny spot.
Best hotel I’ve stayed at in Minnesota for some time. King bed was phenomenally comfortable, room was a 10 out of 10 for cleanliness (Mona was name on card). The provided shampoo and conditioner was not a nasty feeling. If your in business, plenty of plug ends and a 4-USB port station for phones etc. I did not use the TV but was large. The AC and heat worked very well to find my perfect temp. Didn...
Second time we have stayed at this hotel. They offer an online check-in which I really didn't like doing, but found out at the desk I didn't have to do it. The email you get doesn't make it clear that it is an option. Room was nice, bed was between ok to good. Everything worked and was clean. The breakfast was clean, lots of options, was very busy at 8:30 on a Monday. Would definitely stay again.
Very nice hotel, check in and out was easy and staff was friendly and helpful. They have a nice lounge area and decent size breakfast area and selection. Also have a mini bar that is open on Friday and Saturday I believe that also can make nachos and frozen pizza from what I was told. The hotel was pretty full when we stayed and there were plenty of parking. Also it is right across the street from...
A solid 4 out of 5. The hotel was clean and tidy but our room floor (at the entrance) did have stains. But overall the room was clean. The bathroom was clean. Toilet was spotless. Our beds were clean as well. Our room even had a "clean" remote which is a nice addition to the room. The TV worked as it should. Everything was good! The bed spring is just a tad bit harder compared to a softer bed so, be...
I’ll start with the negatives because I want to end this on a good note. The beds could have been more comfortable with a bit heavier blanket. The carpet was wet so that was a little gross. The bathrooms could use an update…. Now to the good bits! The ac worked really well, which we were thankful for because we sleep best when we’re chill. The employees here were fantastic, I can’t say good enough...

The rooms are what you would expect for a hotel, clean beds, bathrooms, TV, sink, refrigerator, microwave, desk. I wish they had chairs in the room to sit. They do have a computer chair at the desk but to be able to sit in an arm chair in my room at night and watch TV would be much more comfortable. The beds are pretty cozy, only downside is I wish they had more pillows. There was only 3 on each....
I would give this hotel a 2.5 stars . The staff were very nice and accommodating, but the issue comes with with the building Itself which is a serious need of repair or remodel. The parking lot is the only building in the vicinity that isn't properly paved and because of that there are large pot holes that are hard to avoid and the room needs a remodel. My bathtub did not drain which you could see...
Folks working there were very nice! The parking lot is full of pot holes and very difficult to navigate in and out of. The hot tub was down while we were there so that was a bummer. Rooms could have been cleaner but they were good for a quick night stay. Specifically where the wall meets the tile in the restroom and the bed covers were stained/spotted/dirty. We just took the cover off because the sheet...
I would recommend this hotel very much.except for the.parking lot which is horrible.breakfast was great.hottub and pool was amazing also very clean rooms very helpful staff
Convenient location from airport. 1st room we stayed in was nicer than the king size / accessible room on the 2nd (return) stay. Bathroom sink didn't drain. Housekeeping came to fix after we mentioned it however we were on our way out. Good discount with AARP. Place to lay your weary head. Good Value when vacationing on a budget.Pool and jacuzzi were working but no time to use.
I soo enjoy this hotel the hospitality is the greatest thing about this hotel to me.. I travel to Duluth 4 times a year I stay here EVERY TIME! The staff always remembers us they do such a good job informing us of events going on in tbe area and discounts even get you a cab or if it's quiet let you swim lil longer!! It is very clean comfy and affordable and to me personally it's a 5 star hotel for...

Beds aren't comfortable and lacked enough blankets for November in Duluth. Place feels sketchy. "Hot tub" doesn't deserve the title. Service was reasonable. Breakfast had like two things I could consider eating; technically exists but better to supplement with something else if at all possible. Overall it's ok, no bugs or smoke scent in room. The bathroom fan was a reasonable volume so there's that...

Room was clean. Staff was friendly. Good location. Did not smell like smoke as mentioned in other reviews. Only complaint was breakfast area is too small and breakfast selection is slim. Toast your own Eggo waffles or microwave a frozen breakfast sandwich. For the cost of this hotel, I think they could afford to do better. We paid 239 per night for a Friday and Saturday.

Went to Duluth on a last minute decision without hotel reservation. We called every hotel in Duluth with no luck. The Super 8 was the only hotel with 1 room available. I was a little skeptical with it also being the cheapest, but had no choice. Turned out to be the best hotel of our vacation. Rooms were clean, staff were friendly, a/c worked and water pressure was good. 10/10 would recommend.

Location was perfect. It's in the middle of everything you want to see and do in Duluth. The staff were accommodating and friendly. Our room had a hot tub and overlooked the lake. The bathroom shower was a bit small for my 6'5" husband, but he took it in stride. The room had a fridge and microwave that worked well. The rooftop patio was great. We met so many fun people on that deck. The prices...
Super friendly and helpful staff. Park in the immediate lot is limited but there is a free parking garage for guests right behind the building. The rooms are awfully dated but everything was cleaned as best it could be. At this price, you can't argue for much more.
My boyfriend and I stayed here for my birthday and our anniversary and the view from our room was amazing and the employees were very nice. We will most definitely stay here again
This hotel/motel (I can't remember which it's considered) is pretty good for the price and location. Rooms were clean and the beds were comfortable. Things feel a little outdated in the shower, but still a cool older hotel to visit, and the price was great for downtown (or anywhere else in duluth for that matter)
View of the lake from the 3rd floor was awesome! Price was reasonable, and motel is in a good location. Clerks were polite and efficient. Rooms are dated, but it's an older motel so we expected that, and older motels have more charm than the chain ones. Room was fine (we don't expect perfection) EXCEPT more attention needs to be paid to the cleanliness of the bedspread/blankets. I understand it is...
This is a retro motel with a casual atmosphere and staying there was an interesting experience. Bring a scented candle as even the non-smoking rooms smell like old smoke. :/

Rooms have been updated and are clean and spacious. Beds were rough, in my opinion. But if you want a decent place to sleep at night, I can think of a lot worse. I am always trying to be grateful at the same time as being honest.
This motel is a nice budget option that’s in a great location. We only stayed here one night but it was perfect for just the night. The room was clean, spacious and has the basic features. The only thing missing was a coffee maker. There’s coffee by the office but none in the room. The room does have a mini refrigerator with a large separate freezer. The walls are a little thin but thankfully other...
Rooms are clean and crisp. Everytime. Staff is friendly no matter what time you check in. Don't F_^k the rooms up. They are kinda particular about that. If you gotta "eff" up someplace.... "eff" up your own spot. Rooms are crisp. Staff is friendly. Very conveniently located. I don't usually give out five stars. They earned it.
It was okay for a late night stop after a long day of traveling. The overnight desk person was nice and told us he'd be there all night if we needed anything. The room was okay, but I'm not a fan of linoleum flooring. It always feels sticky, and I leave my shoes on until I'm ready for bed. The beds were very old, so they were thin, and you could feel the springs. I was tired, so I did sleep but woke...
Non smoking room was clean and didn't smell like smoke. The night service desk guy was nice and knowledgeable. The room by the stairs could have a door that shuts more quietly.
The motel was very clean on the outside with a fresh coat of paint. The grounds were clean, our room smelled and looked very clean. The people who worked at the motel were so nice. My family had a great 4 night stay here, and we will do it again next year. Duluth has the friendliest people I've ever met!

AG Thomson House is the best B&B around. It's quaint and private, perfect for a romantic getaway. You can choose to have your breakfast delivered to your room or go downstairs. Its located walking distance from the lake. And the meal is absolutely gourmet! You will remember the B&B for the mattrsss that puts you to sleep, the awesome jacuzzi tub, and the creative and delicious breakfasts. Worth every...
When we were looking to travel through Duluth, we saw this B&B with many great reviews and made the reservation to experience this wonderful home for ourselves. After staying there for 2 days, we can fully understand why it is so well rated. This is a truly special place with innkeepers who really understand how to make you feel part of their home and do the little things right to make your stay...
Owners Angie & Tim greeted us personally upon arrival, and saw to it that every detail was perfect for our stay. The room and house was immaculate, freshly baked cookies, handmade truffles on our bed, coffee in our room. Beautiful grounds to explore and enjoy, with Angie pointing out the highlights: mama deer and fawns who often visit, the cozy gazebo and waterfall with a swing nearby. We chose to...
Our stay at the AG Thompson House was excellent! Kirsten was so friendly - from coordinating a late check in, to chatting at breakfast, and helping pick up an item we left - the service was excellent! The room was very cozy and the grounds were inviting and well kept. We stayed one night before heading up the north shore and it was a perfect way to start the trip. Would recommend to anyone staying...
VERY IMPRESSED! My husband and I are currently expecting our first child and we had to cancel two trips due to the COVID-19 pandemic. While canceling those trips were necessary, we still wanted to go somewhere for a quick and relaxing getaway before the baby arrives. We took a lot of time researching for a place that is taking the pandemic seriously yet provides a nice stay at the same time. Well boy...
Extremely well done service that is top quality. The grounds are beautiful in July and our unit was most accommodating. Breakfast was superb. The staff (owners Angie and Tim) are highly professional, friendly and attentive. We stayed 4 nights and completely enjoyed our time spent on property.

The staff went above and beyond. We needed to briefly rehearse a dance number and they let us use their conference room free. Very helpful. The hotel is very large and was full but in spite of being across from the gym, the room was quiet. Lots of soundproofing. We just heard Lake Superior. Could also open a window, which was nice.
Great experience back in Duluth after a long absence! Keep up the good work! Planned an upcoming wedding and the Lodge and it's support, much appreciated!
The hotel was very nice and the pool was warm. We also walked to Little Angie's Cantina and Grill fo dinner. We got a good deal on a room for around $190 because there was bad weather.
Used this as a staging point to walk to Bentlyville. Rooms nice, friendly staff, good breakfast and coffee. Pool chlorine was a bit intense.
Great experience staying at the Canal Park Lodge. Very clean rooms, great customer service, and good breakfast selections. The management team is awesome! I would highly recommend.
Beds were very comfortable, Lake view room was amazing to see sun come up over. Breakfast was warm and filling. My favorite part was it was quiet, lots and lots of people staying the night but it was built for quietness. Not many places I can say that about but this place was quiet!!!!!

Huge room and costs about 1/3 of the price as other area hotels. And the room we were put in for the night even had a kitchen. Yes the room was a little outdated however I find that more appealing. Tells me that the place has been taken care of to last that long.
The owner and the workers are very good people and good at their job. It is an older motel but kept up very nice I have not have one problem here I've stayed here many times
Just stayed one night, but found it very quaint. Nice little room with all you needed. Staff is real friendly. Could use some updates but still very nice. Makes you feel you are way out of town, but Surprise! You're not. Well done.
Super cute little place, old-school charm, proprietors are friendly, nice selection of postcards & free newspaper. The grounds are lovely & peaceful. Freight trains just up the hill, and you can hear I-35. But it’s madeup for by the birds, woods, lawns, critters, and wind in the trees. Cute little brook right behind the rooms and a hiking trail. Rooms have lots of windows to open for fresh air & listening...
I've stayed here before and know this Motel. The price they ask is well worth staying here because it's not your 5-star hotel. The beds are clean I have a microwave and a mini fridge in my room, as you can see by the photos there are many updates that could be done but for me... I'm satisfied. Since it's an old Motel and it hasn't been updated the scars from the many years of people being able to smoke...
The people that own the allendale are very friendly. A great place in the city with a awesome touch of country
