Durham Marriott City Center

We had a great stay recently at this hotel. Very modern, newly furbished rooms and fantastic location in downtown Durham. What took the cake was that we forgot a laptop in the room so the General Manager called us asap and took a lot of trouble to ship it to us safely. This hotel really went the extra mile to ensure our laptop made it's way back asap to us in one piece.

amazing hotel with great staff. rooms and clean and the beds are amazing. You must checkout the lounge in the lobby. They offer light snacks and happy hour. The host in the lounge is fantastic. Amazing customer service and very knowledgable about Durham and very approachable.

Really nice hotel. My room was very clean and comfortable. The M Lounge was a nice perk. The gym was well equipped. Excellent location close to numerous bars and restaurants.

Such a great overnight stay! I was giving a talk in Butner and this was the nicest closest hotel. I love they have added a local flare to the newly renovated rooms. The hotel is in a great location, easy access to walking to dining options downtown.

Don’t let the exterior fool you - this Marriott is nice!

So the building has definitely seen some better days and is dated but the entire interior has been renovated. The reception hall is open and welcoming with the lounge access and breakfast bar. The rooms are updated, with comfortable beds, large screen TVs and a nice bathroom. Downtown Durham does not have a lot of y’all building so chances are that if you get a high level floor, you will get a nice view. The hotel is located in central durham in walking distance to great restaurants, the DPAC, and the Durham Bulls stadium.

Best parts: the staff. Everyone I talked to was incredibly friendly. From the front desk, to the bar tender, to the waitress to room service - everyone was very nice and made me feel welcomed.

The one bad - the elevators are dated and slow. Perhaps a leftover from the building but nothing that would ruin your trip.

Conclusion - you may pull up to the building and regret your choice but give it a chance and walk inside. You cannot beat the location, and the friendliness of the staff.

Got a great king sized room that was nicely finished for a great deal! Staff was very nice and attentative. Only preblem we had was that the floors in the room, which were a wood look laminate, were a little dirty but was quickly rectified by the cleaning staff. The bathroom could have been bigger and more renovated: the toilet seat needed to be replaced and the shower was a bit small in room 412. The bed was comfortable and big, and there was a nice couch to lounge on.
