TownePlace Suites by Marriott Galveston Island

This hotel deserves all the hype!!! I went down for my birthday and was not disappointed. Falina, who worked the front, was kind and got a room ready for us for early check-in. She called to let us know when it was ready. The room was adorable! A little kitchen, big comfy beds, a TV right in the center of the room, and a large closet space. We went straight to the pool because it is literally what makes this hotel even more special! The pool was one of the nicest hotel pools we'd ever been in. Clean, clear water, a water fall, and they had multiple clean restrooms you could use right by the pool! The only downfall with the hotel is the breakfast. The dining area is so small, and people posted a big continental styled breakfast, but that must be its sister hotel next door. Their breakfast here was a little basic, but it got the job done. Oh, and also, the Castaway Bar is seasonal, so it was closed during our visit. Besides that, we will absolutely be returning! Affordable hotel, great service, and a beautiful pool? Count us in!

I was in town with family the night before our cruise to Key West. We were greeted with a huge Texas size welcome, from the most professional, most knowledgeable and biggest smile a person could imagine; a man named Giovanni! From the minute we walked through the door, he was there for our every need! Extra towels, shuttle service to the port, and bar/restaurant were all mentioned at check-in, and he even helped our elderly parents with their luggage! Giovanni set the tone for our vacation and was really excited about the journey we were about to embark on...our first cruise! Giovanni is truly an asset to the Marriott Brand! I truly appreciate the excellent customer service, his "let's do it attitude ", just can't go without a big Thank You! You have a true "old school" person that knows what it takes to keep them coming back! Team Giovanni for sure!

Great stay. Quiet location and room. Air Condition worked as intended and it was quiet. Clean room. Nice breakfast. Shuttle to cruise is available for a fee. Great from arrival to check out. COMFY BED.

This is a great property right across the street from the beach! The pool is one of the best on the island as well. Great and friendly staff. Gio at the front desk was very helpful and made our stay! The breakfast and the AM staff is superb as well!

Giovanni checked us in. He was very attentive and got us into our room quickly, which we really appreciated since we arrived very late. He even gave us crayons and coloring paper for our kids to enjoy. Our room was clean and had everything we need. They recently remodeled so all the rooms are new.

My boyfriend and I came to Galveston for a cruise. We booked with one hotel and it was just an absolute disaster. At about 1230am on a Friday night, we called TownePlace, explained our situation, asked if they had any availability, and they did. Victor was amazing. He was so kind, empathetic, informative, such a wonderful face to see when we walked in after a rough day of travel and hassle. The beds were so comfortable. We saw a fridge, a little stove top, and new soap and scrub to do the dishes. If we were staying longer than a night, this would’ve been fantastic. The breakfast in the morning was some of the best continental breakfast we’ve had at a hotel. We will choose this TownePlace any time we come back to town, and probably anywhere else we go. Thank you for the fantastic service. I would recommend this hotel over and over!!

We haven’t even checked out yet, while I’m actively writing this review;
This place has been SO wonderful to us that I’m in shock. They went above and beyond in every way. They have been friendly, knowledgeable and helpful! Especially Jerry at the front desk. He deserves a major shout out for going above and beyond and being such a wonderful person.
This place is very clean, they have excellent staff, maps for out of town visitors, and an AMAZING continental breakfast!
I HIGHLY recommend staying here while you’re in Galveston. I will be coming back!

The rooms were impressively clean. Not too overstocked but good. The staff was great, especially our guy on arrival. Breakfast was impressive. And, the dog area is wonderful except for stickers out in the center of the dog court. I will be happy to come back here any time I'm on vacation in Galveston. Thank you 😊
