1863 Inn of Gettysburg

This is a pet friendly hotel, but they do have rooms that pets are not allowed in. Walls are on the thinner side, and traffic can be heard inside even on the back side. Beds were comfortable, and the a/c will definitely freeze you out. There is a mini fridge, but there was no microwave in our room. Rita's water ice is across the street, as well as a lot of the ghost tours. The union cemetery, as well as a good portion of the battlefield. The breakfast was really good and there are plenty of places to sit while you eat. With pet friendly hotels, you should expect to hear animals as well as expect to see some stains on the floor. I felt that hotel was clean and the staff that I met were very nice. The location and value I felt were on par with pet friendly non chain hotels. My only down side was that there was no vent fan in the bathroom, so it did get steamy in there. That being said, I would definitely stay here again and recommend others to do so as well.

The staff are very nice, and the location as others have commented is perfect for exploring the town & the battlefield and beyond. I was teaching a class here in the area and so really needed to have a good Internet connection… It was only so-so… That’s the only thing that could be improved… The coffee in the lobby is excellent.

We stayed here for the first time and we brought my niece and nephew. This is an excellent place to stay if you've got kids! The breakfast in the morning was top notch and the kids looooved the pool!

Great Hotel...could not ask for a better location which was right on the main street! Room was very comfortable, clean. Looking forward to coming back to this great city and definitely going to book again at this Hotel!

Stayed 2 nights and enjoyed it greatly. Arrived a few hours early but the staff went out of there way to get our room ready. We checked in at 145pm tyvm. Location was perfect , several shops within walking distance as well as several places to eat. Jenny Wades house was next door! There was construction going on but the noise was not bothersome. The breakfast selection was excellent and fresh. Battlegrounds and points of interest are all nearby. Highly recommend this Inn, and plan to stay there again .

The room was very nice and we had a sweet little note in the room from the housekeeper, loved that. The breakfast was delicious and a large variety. The location was perfect, my husband and I didn't have to drive anywhere, everything was in walking distance. Parking was great! Definitely booking again with this hotel for our next trip.

Hotel is in the center of town and convenient located near shops, restaurants and right next door to the historic Jenny Wade house. We are frequent visitors of Gettysburg and have stayed in many hotels and campgrounds in town. We return to this hotel because of its location and the service they provide. The rooms are very clean and well stocked with toiletries and towels. The front desk are helpful and courteous and work to accommodate any requests you may have. Complimentary breakfast is served buffet style in their Rise and Shine restaurant and offers so many fresh and hot breakfast items. I would recommend staying at this hotel and plan to continue making our reservations here when we travel to Gettysburg.
