We booked a day pass to the waterfall and were greeted by Ken. He was wonderful and gave us a short history of the location. We had a 10 min hike down to the waterfall and lake and it was both beautiful and awe inspiring. It was like we were in a different world. Voyage to the middle of the earth kind of feel. We swam and enjoyed the peace of the lake, jungle and waterfall. I'm glad we went and highly recommend visiting. By the way, for about a half hour we were the only two people there.

Luckily we only booked one night.
We paid for this place more than $350 for small room. Maybe our expectation was too high.
Our disappointment
- Processes (e.g. check-in) are rigid, the lady working at the front desk is not helpful.
- Outdoor activities, waterfall is beautiful but do not pay for the activities it does not worth is. All equipment is old and not maintained with zero instructions….
- We felt this hotel does not trust guests. Surveillance cameras in all public areas even the waterfall (incl. warning "smile you're on camera"), late check-out fee of $100 in case of 15min delay, etc…
- the room was dark and bathroom was bit stinky.
Anyway the location is really good but price does not match.
We stayed other cheaper hotels in Big island but this was the worst place.

This was place was a HUGE disappointment!! The grounds were beautiful and if you want to do the waterfall activities I'm sure that would be fun but DON'T stay overnight. The bed had 10+ hairs in it and the general manager was not helpful or understanding in the least. We ended up only staying one night (versus two) and lost money since the general manager wouldn't give us any type of refund. The only thing he/she would do for us was offer us $100 off a waterfall activity simply so they could take even more of our money. This general manager definitely needs a course in customer service.
*Edited (In response to the owner’s response): we didn’t have an extra bed, we only had one bed so maybe get your facts straight. That one bed was tainted for us.
But also I didn’t ask for a full refund, I only asked for a refund for the night we didn’t stay. I even said I’d settle for a $100 refund on the night versus giving you more money and getting $100 off for an activity I could care less about. *

The inn keeper and staff were delightful, helpful and professional. The setting is profoundly magical and if you time it right you can have your own private waterfall to enjoy with no one around. Our room was nicely appointed and the lanai had a view of the waterfall - par none! We will definitely recommend to our friends seeking a restful, memorable visit.

Wow! What a great 3 hrs at the falls. Easy to book add on items when you get down there too. Great restrooms for folks going to the falls only. I guess it was so nice we left my son’s favorite hat! Ah well, great time.

Outstanding, accommodations are welcoming and cozy. The staff are friendly and locating is surreal. Love this place.

We went for lunch and a swim in the waterfall with a local your group. The lunch was just basic sandwiches, but the staff was great and the views and swim were one of the most amazing things I have ever seen. Truly once in a lifetime experience.

Loved staying at the Inn. It was very secluded, beautiful, peaceful, and a great base camp for exploring all of the Big Island. The staff is tremendous and helped find the perfect tours and things to do while we were there. They even have rappelling of the waterfall next to the rooms, if you dare.

We have only been here for one night and I am amazed. There are no words to describe the beauty of this location. It is absolutely breathtaking and serene. I have zero regrets about booking this place. We got in at almost midnight and Lara waited up for us to give us directions even though she had to be up before 6 am to put coffee out. She was super sweet. The room is gorgeous, clean, and at night you can hear all the animals - the perfect way to fall asleep. I have no idea what breakfast will be like but who cares?! I'm so excited to spend our vacation here! :)

Very nice bed and breakfast to stay at for a night or longer if you enjoy the remote feeling. This place is close enough to still see Hilo but you really feel like you are out in the country. Very nice and friendly staff. Good food for a light breakfast included. Wonderful waterfall you can swim near after a short hike and bamboo gardens to explore. We were on a two week vacation to the Kona side but my wife and I came to the Inn for one night away and really enjoyed it. Serenaded to sleep by the frogs!
