Long Beach, 111 East Ocean Boulevard 🧭 Map
Was there for a work event. The Bixby Ballroom is nice and big. The staff that cleared tables was nice. After I sat at the bar and it took 15 minutes for anyone to even acknowledge us. After we left and drove back to the office we realized we left a laptop where we were sitting. The hotel operator was NO help! She said she checked lost and found, and it wasn't there. And that unless it was turned in...
I attended a conference and a few of us stayed at this hotel. Their experience was a bit better. The clerk was really nice but the cleaning crew didn't really do their job well. They threw away things I had set aside so they wouldn't thrown them away. They didn't restock certain items. The desk fixed it the next time after mentioning it. A small thing to complain about, but it was a big bummer,...
Rooms were very nice. Loved their soaps. The veiws left a little to be wanted. Great customer care. All around very nice. BTW they have a pool table and ping pong. Pool is very nicely heated. And spa is burning. Fantastic!
The location was great, especially if you are there for a convention. It was within walking distance of shopping and great food. The lobby is beautiful and spacious which made it very welcoming. The staff was professional and kind. Anything I needed, they catered to the best they could. If I ever have to go back to Long Beach, I would definitely stay there again!
Nicely renovated but the rooms smell like kitty litter! And, the air conditioning shuts off it it doesn't sense movement. Thankfully it is December but I like a cool, fresh room. Breakfast is nothing special. I will NOT return.
Hotel was designed very nicely and had a great location that was about the only positive things I could say. It is a Marriott hotel however the M club was not open on the weekend. Also there was no late-night food available. Valet is not 24 hours. My husband and I are considered platinum elite as we had our wedding at the Marriott earlier this year, and also hold a Marriott credit card, however this...

Took a tour of the QM and learned all about this ship's amazing history. They are currently working on renovations, so we weren't able to stay the night, but I would love to return at some point in the future and stay on the ship. Highly recommend a tour once they open back up if you are in the area!
Photos I added were from 2012. If you are a fan of art deco or of history from the '20s, '30s, and '40s, then this place will be incredibly memorable for you to visit. Spectacular art deco piece of art with spectacular details throughout the ship. Pictures don't do it justice.
We had a great time. We stayed overnight. Small room but great bath and we had a port hole looking at Long Beach. Food was outstanding. We loved our stay and can’t wait to return.
Historical vessel and now landmark in Long Beach. While I did not enter the Queen Mary for this event, I have been on the ship recently and in the past as a child. It has everything you would expect for a passenger ship. Beautiful staterooms for events, multiple bars throughout the ship, upper and lower decks for sightseeing the ocean and downtown LA skyline. I would recommend a visit.
Pros: as a guest they let you wander all over the ship and explore the bridge, the sundeck, bow, etc. Only the swiming pool and industrial areas were off-limits (but available on the tours which were discounted for hotel guests). It's a beautiful piece of history and a one-of-a-kind stay. There are so many displays and exhibits, and just fun stuff to look at. Definitely visit the promenade shops and...
Cool experience. Nice date spot if you want to just do something different. Good for day trip with friends and or family. Very child friendly. There is also a WWII submarine to check out. A bit pricey but not crazy. Went with friends, made a day out of it. All in all pretty fun place.

This is such a great location! Everyone at the hotel was so kind and friendly. It was clean and such a fun, chill atmosphere. We are adding this location to our definite places to return. Loved our weekend getaway. We already knew going into it that parking would be a challenge, but it all worked out. Just keep that in mind if you are traveling in a bigger vehicle.
Such an underrated hotel for the Long Beach area. I stay here at least once a year. The rooms are decorated nicely and are super cozy. Views from the room aren't anything special, but it's all about the rooftop pool/bar. Great place to hang out with friends and finish up the night with some beer/wine. It's also in a great area and very walkable to lots of good food and attractions. My only gripe is...
We stayed for 2 nights in mid-September. Our room was spacious even with 2 beds, very nicely equipped with modern touch. AC worked without issues and wasn’t loud. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and again very modern. The rooftop pool overlooks Queen Mary and the Pike and offers great refreshment on a hot day! Water was of a great temperature. The hotel had several spaces to work from or to relax...
My son and I stayed here for 2 nights while attending a classic car show. The hotel is fairly new. The room itself was nice. There is a bar and market/coffee shop on premises which as nice. There is also a rooftop bar on the 8th floor poolside which was more relaxing. The desk staff was good. They give you a time frame (4 hour window) for maid service so we actually missed ours because we got back...
Haven't been in a rented room in a while, but have had instance to go inside the hotel lobby area, where many renovations and changes have taken place. All is quite lovely, clean, and modern. Venues inside the lobby include a restaurant and bar with a great outdoor pool. You won't regret your stay!
Clean and excellent rooms. Bed was very comfortable. Rooftop pool is a nice size and well maintained. Lots to see and do right at footsteps of the hotel. Would come back again and often.

Proximity to the airport is the best!! When you have your bags, call the hotel so they can send the shuttle. It is a quick ride. The hotel property is beautiful. The staff is helpful and personable. The rooms are spacious and equipped with everything you need for a long stay or a stay with children. Morning breakfast option is the standard but the dining rooms are large and clean. There seems to be...
Great experience! We were in town for an allergy appointment and I had been researching where to stay for months. We flew into the Long Beach airport and this hotel is absolutely outstanding location as it is just around the corner. It is a safe area with lots of options for both eating and grocery. The hotel had a very clean lobby, the staff was pleasant, room is spacious and clean, and the breakfast...
I have stayed here over a dozen times since they opened and have been really satisfied. Until now. It's been 2 years since I've stayed here (covid) and the service has really gone downhill. Rooms are good, location is great, but housekeeping and service is very lacking. You have to call to schedule housekeeping - I called at 830 am and was told I could not get housekeeping until the following day...
I am not one to leave reviews, but felt compelled to share our experience here because it was so great! Our family of six (including 4 kids ages 8-16) stayed here for 5 nights in August 2022. It was the perfect hotel for our family. Things we appreciated were: • Incredibly friendly staff, from front desk to housekeeping. Easily the best service we have ever had at this type of hotel. • Great breakfast...

I was looking for a place to live while I get my life together and I found a place at the Varden Hotel. I'm a day in day outer and this is exactly what I need to get better. Shout out to Char and Valerie on the easy transition. Thank you.
Nice location very close to a lot of restaurants. Easy walking distance to a lot of downtown Long Beach. Rooms are small and definitely not for a family, but for one or one along with a significant other, it is nice. People were very friendly and helpful. The only thing I thought they could improve was the Continental breakfast offering. The coffee was great, but much of the pastry items were stale...
I've stayed here several times and it is always a great experience. It's an old SRO hotel (google THAT), so yes, the rooms are small. They have done an excellent job of remodeling and the staff is amazingly nice. This is now my go-to hotel in Long Beach. Wonderful bedding and amenities! I've stayed by myself and the full-sized bed is fine. With my husband, we had a room with a queen bed. The evening...
Interesting hotel, and the layout of the rooms makes a lot out of a little space. The rooms are very clean, the staff is very attentive, and the location is great. They also have modern ductless AC units for heating and cooling. I stayed here while attending a conference at the Long Beach Convention center. It's about a 10-15min walk to the convention center, and I was able to figure out where I...
Cool hotel with excellent service. Very convenient to the Long Beach convention center and tons of bars and restaurants. The rooms are tiny but that's part of the charm.
The Varden is a nice boutique hotel, not one of those monolith hotels we are used to. The rooms are small, yes small. My childhood bedroom was bigger, which was small. They makeup with the small rooms and bathrooms, with great friendly service... want a slightly earlier checking time... no worries.. want a slightly later checkout time.. no worries.. want some water bottles (for free) no problem. Stayed there with two young girls on October 5. Friendly staff. Great pool. Clean room. Great breakfast. Only problems were- outlet in bathroom did not work. . Once we had showered and were bare footed, our feet got dirty from the carpet. These are easy fixes. I would definitely stay again. Best pool I have ever seen.
Perfect location, all coastal attractions are nearby. Hotel is quaint quiet and clean, room is large and tidy. Staff is engaging and courteous. We took a non smoking, king bed room, we smoke but hate the smell! To our surprise there was a balcony, bingo we could step out on it to puff! We will definitely stay here again! The only negative? Bring your favorite air freshener, there is a faint bit of...
This is a 3-star Hotel that deserves five stars as a 3-star Hotel. The general manager is a pleasure to deal with and so are the rest of the staff. The beds are comfortable the, rooms are clean and the breakfast is good. They have quiet rooms and a nice swimming pool. Everything you could ask for including a low price. Glad we stayed here.
Let me start by saying that you are staying at a Super 8 Motel. You are not paying for five star service. This is a 3-star Hotel. But as a 3-star Hotel it gets 5 stars and even then some. The rooms are clean. The beds are relatively soft. The staff is incredibly friendly. And the general manager is too. They have a pretty good breakfast. The showers worked well. I can't complain. The price we paid...
Rooms were adequate, manager was amazing! Free continental breakfast AND at 5pm they serve refreshments~ snacks sodas and even wine! Pool and Jacuzzi area was very nice.
Check in was quick and simple, and the room was just as nice it seemed while booking. Would definitely stay here again!

Have recently stayed at multiple motels and hotels down this strip of PCH and this one is definitely the best! Great amenities and service, especially for the price. Also we felt safe and clean here, easily two of the most important things when staying anywhere. Owner was also great and accommodating! Definitely coming back.
I cannot thank these guys enough. The room was spotless and excellent value for money. In addition, the staff were super lovely when I locked my keys in the back of the hire car by mistake. They calmed me down and helped me call a locksmith and negotiate with him, and gave me free beer. This was true kindness that went beyond the call of duty. I highly recommend this place.
Honestly I don't know why so many people have negative comments (perhaps too spoiled 🤷🏽‍♀️). I just visited from Canada and stayed here and the room was clean, had very clearly been renovated and the front desk was super friendly and helpful. If your looking for a good priced cozy motel room this is a fine choice.
Very affordable and neat rooms. The double bed rooms are big and spacious, neat, has all utilities like iron, hair dryer, full functional dishtv, oven and the coffee machine worked well too. Umang patel the manager is very friendly and helpful. very flexible too. well worth the price in a great location!!
Very no frills. EXTREMELY KIND PEOPLE at the front desk. Clean rooms with a microwave and fridge and a good bath/shower and a toliet of course. However, the place really isnt a hotel; It's set up like a motel. Overall, I loved it there!
Purchased a night on a last minute app. The rate was let's say cheap, but the room was fitting of the price, perhaps even below. We could hear our neighbor and basically everything, and the shower spray was more of a drizzle. Overall, it was fine, but I won't stay again. It was more of a motel, and not a hotel, if you catch my drift, but it did its job, and it was only a night. Perhaps in a pinch,...

Great room for a great price!! Great location. There is so much within walking distance of the hotel. The service we received was outstanding! Would definitely stay here again.
There was a $100 cash deposit that they spring on you when you check in, so be prepared for that... there was no pool as is suggested by the booking sites. The rooms are fair and clean but without safe or fridge. It is not a vacation destination but will definitely suffice for reasonable lodging. For $20-30+, stay at a Hampton Inn.
The manager was cool had a mistake with my reservation and he helped me out. Got the suite which was an ok price but nothing really special. The maintenance in the room needed some attention but the room was clean. It was within walking distance of the Toyota grand prix which was a plus.
Very friendly staff and very accommodating!! This is an older model but was clean and the beds we're very comfortable!! For the price and location you couldn't go wrong!
The room that i stayed in was very icky. The shower was really icky. The windows were very thin and the TV was supper small and old. However, my friends who were staying the the room right next to ours was really nice and pretty the bathroom was very clean and the TV was on the wall and the quality was really clean. So some rooms aren't that great but most rooms seemed okay for a cheap hotel.
If all you desire in lodging is the basics for a good night's sleep during your stay in Long Beach, then Vegabond is your best bet. There is no fridge or adequate sink. The interior is so so

After realizing how difficult it is to find clean, safe, cat-friendly lodging, we were so relieved to come across the Kearney Motel. There wasn’t any way to reserve a room online, however, the front desk staff was very nice and informative. We were able to quickly book a room upon our spontaneous arrival. The room was spacious and appeared very clean. I’m not sure if every room has one, but we enjoyed...
This place is a beautiful little Motel hit out in a quiet neighborhood and the manager is everything the reviews have been saying. It was a nice welcoming feeling to walk into one of their rooms he even showed...
The ceiling paintings and black light effects were amazing! Definitely a first and the mirrors on the wall were very cool.
HIDDEN GEM!!!!! Stayed for 6 nights. Very comfortable stay. Short ride to the beach, solid neighborhood. Very clean room, very friendly staff! For sure staying again very soon!!!!!
The motel was perfect for the all overnight stay. The room was cute and comfy, the location was way too fond and management was great
Stayed for 6 days. Cleanest and best service ever. People very helpful and courteous. Maybe too helpful. Bed was comfy even with a bad back. They cleaned the room even when you tell them it's not needed. Just wish they respected Do not disturb sign. For a small hotel grounds (roses n all) are well taken care of. I will DEFINITELY RETURN.

Wonderful view and great customer service. My S/O and I booked a camping trip and we had a phenomenal experience, highly recommended!
8/24/2021 This motel definitely get 5 stars. The employees were very nice & professional, the room are nice and very clean. Its actually 1 of the best motels on Long Beach Blvd in Compton. I would definitely come back again.
This place is grate I love the Rocky and will stay there every time im in long beach the rooms were extra clean and it very conveniently located in the heart of long beach
Place is as clean as any other motel....plenty of parking....competitive prices...but the best thing i like is they dont trip on who you have over.

Hotel is nothing special, good place for a shower and to get some sleep. The room I stayed in could've used a mop, and some maintenance could've been done to shower controls. Overall it was a good stay. The room was a good size and clean. There wasn't really anything to service, wish they had room service. The price is the cheapest around and that's a huge bonus when you have little to no money and just want to take a shower and sleep and feel safe. So thank you.
It's a quiet minimalist hole in the wall that was a great find. Reasonably priced, clean, and conveniently nestled right off the bridge crossing over the riverbed

No adult channel anymore. When I ask to move rooms because the TV wasn't working right they refused after seemingly turning the TV off and on again. Location is ok but only store is the liquor on long Beach and the truck stop across. For the price is a solid 3
We arrived at 3 in the morning. It's not the best but it was the only one that could accommodate a big group. The staff was nice and friendly. It's not updated but for what we needed it worked.

A bit on the seedy side, but if you like to walk on the wild side then this may very well cater to your sensibilities. Clean rooms, ample space and door front parking are well within the fare fee they charge. This is no place to take children. They don't seem to concerned here with how many visitors you have in your room, or who's coming and going, so it's pretty much a free for all.
Honestly the rooms have been remodeled and they are nice looking but my stay here has been lack luster. The first time I came here I was impressed.
