JW Marriott Marco Island Beach Resort

Beach was beautiful, we spent most of our time on the beach. Service was great in the restaurants and on the beach. The kids loved 10K alley, overall it was a good expereince.

We have been going to this hotel for years and recently went again for Memorial Day. The hotel has become much bigger and more crowded and service is not as good as it used to be but overall we had a nice stay. I was actually pleasantly surprised after reading so many negative reviews because we really did have a good time. The hotel rooms are nothing special but the resort has a lot to offer with many restaurant options, the game room, two pools, the beautiful beach, etc. It does seem like the hotel has trouble providing service that is up to JW standards because this resort is so popular and is often very crowded, especially on big holiday weekends. The coffee shop is really great and we enjoyed breakfast and coffee there every morning! Quinn's restaurant by the pool is no longer as good as it used to be as it now has very limited menu options so we chose to have lunch on most days at Kane's, which was quite good! The pork belly appetizer dish is just amazing!

Overall, we had a good stay but I think we still preferred this resort when it was smaller and just a regular Marriott. The upgrade to a JW and the expansion made this hotel bigger but less personalized and I think service has suffered as a result. Also, the prices for this hotel are outrageous so you are essentially paying Ritz Carlton prices for an experience that mostly is not even up to most JW standards, unfortunately. We stayed with points this time and probably would not have chosen to pay the over $700 a night (for a regular room) they were charging at the time. It's a shame because this has always been the best place to stay on Marco Island and there aren't a lot of options on the island but the prices have put it out of reach for most families. Still a good option on Marco but go with realistic expectations and don't be too picky and on big weekends prepare to be packed in like sardines at the two relatively small pools and to pay a fee to reserve a lounge chair by the pool if you want to sleep in and actually have a place to relax for the day.

Great resort for adults and kids as well. You can relax solo or have a nice family getaway. The game room is amazing! Direct access to the beach and the pool setting has something for everyone.

We are currently staying here and while the property itself is beautiful and the location is good, I don't feel it's worth the price. Today was the 3rd day this week that we returned from the beach to get ready for dinner only to discover that our room was not cleaned. Aside from that, I don't think the rooms are really clean, as you would expect from a 4 star resort. We are here for a week and there isn't a single hook in our room to hang up wet towels or swimsuits.
Be aware that if you have any packages delivered here, the hotel charges you a handling fee based on weight. We were not advised of this and never encountered this at other hotels before.
I would suggest booking kids activities in advance, as many of them were booked up even before we arrived.
