Holiday Inn Express Miami Airport Doral Area, an IHG Hotel

This hotel is awful. Outside looks nice and lobby is nice but the rooms are terrible. First of all, they messed up our rooms and gave us a room with one bed when there is three of us. The tv only has five channels and out of the five, two of them don’t work and the screen is messed up. The worst part of it all is this hotel is infested with bugs. There are ants EVERYWHERE! Bed, chairs, counters, tv, the list goes on and on, can’t even sleep at night. Also someone stole my friends $100 out her purse. Needless to say, I would NOT recommend this hotel save your money and go somewhere else.

My husband, myself, and two teen boys landed in Miami around 11PM to begin our vacation of a lifetime down to Key West. We had booked a room at Holiday Inn Express Miami Airport Doral Area months prior. Our intention was to get some rest before taking the beautiful drive down. We had many things planned for the drive and really needed some sleep, we didn't get that. When we got to the hotel this is what we found, "We don't have a room for you." I provided the confirmation email with the confirmation number and that got me no where. The rude person behind the counter just said "I don't know what to tell you, we don't have a room available." I asked if he could help us find another room at a sister property, "no" was the answer. I asked if he could help us find transportation if we were able to find another room ourselves, "no" was the answer again. Meanwhile, to add to the chaos and stress there were several, what seemed to be, sex workers out front arguing and yelling at people coming in and out of the hotel, including us. The entire situation was horrible and I can guarantee I will never attempt to stay in a Holiday Inn again because it was anything but a holiday. Sometimes what we think will be convenient is exactly the opposite. They should rename their hotel to "Holiday Hell Express."
