Naples Grande Beach Resort

This was our second stay as a family of four. Last year, same time, the resort offered daily kid’s activities, but not this year. This was a big disappointment for my girls. The resort requires guests to identify with bracelets for amenity use - most good resorts use the rubber removable bracelets or something comfortable. Naples Grande is still using those annoying plastic clip on bracelets that you can’t remove. They were a pain to keep on for all of us. After our first night, the water in our shower smelled foul and we couldn’t get hot water. I texted the number provided, but after waiting a bit, called for service. (Nobody keeps up with the text requests, I’d recommend calling if you want timely service). Engineering came to the room and couldn’t resolve the issue. We were moved next door which was a bit of a smaller room but with a working shower. It took us a good 30-45 minutes to move everything that we had unpacked. Nobody called to apologize or make any concessions for the inconvenience until I asked for management. We were promised that our lunch from the day prior would be comped. $50 was comped. That was half our lunch bill for 3 burgers and 3 non alcoholic beverages by the pool. Pool service was very slow to receive that day. The rooms are definitely approaching the need for upgrades! Impact sliding doors to the patio would be most appreciated, as they would’ve blocked the sound of construction and maintenance work each morning and afternoon. Although my kids love the slide at the pool, we will likely consider alternative properties next summer.
