I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here. The atmosphere feels luxurious, and it’s in the perfect location! As soon as you walk in you’re welcomed by a beautiful aroma and directly after by the wonderful staff. They were so quick and courteous getting me checked in. We walked in to a freshly cleaned room. The bed was so comfortable that I slept the best sleep I’d had in a long time. The breakfast served was delicious, my favorite was the biscuits and gravy. Very flavorful, and the biscuit was the perfect combination of crispy and fluffy. I will definitely book again when visiting again

Mrs. Didi Is a very professional and kind person, she is helpful and goes above and beyond to make the guests feel comfortable and safe at all times. she has excellent customer service skills with a professional and kind character. She will be the first smile you see when you get into the hotel and the last one when you are leaving. I also want to say thank you to the room service ladies and the food service personnel.

We were on the second floor near the elevators. If the light rail wasn’t keeping us up it was trash services. We didn’t have two working room keys until we finally requested new physical keys to our room. They apologized and said it was old which fair, but maybe the solution of new keys should have been an idea sooner if it was a known problem. Breakfast wasn’t great, the attendant was so nice but it didn’t help the foods appearance and taste. Only one elevator was functioning the whole time we were there and reading reviews, it looks like it’s been that was for a while. Also when I checked in, I requested every other day service. We stayed 5 nights and didn’t get service a single time.
Walk ability and location were great. The garage was convenient and safe.

A very mediocre hotel with a great location.

The location is great as it is downtown and very walkable to many restaurants and waterfront. Easy access to the interstates, too. Parking is convenient as the parking garage is across the street (pay directly with the garage for cheaper rates). Also on-street parking.

The hotel lobby is nice. Breakfast is served there and is your average Marriott breakfast, nothing special.

There is only one working elevator for the entire hotel. Everybody has to use it including the service personnel. Expect long wait times.

The rooms were clean but not renovated. The door locks were old and didn't allow mobile key. Our key cards stopped working once and cost us two trips to the lobby and fifteen minutes to get into our room.

Might stay here again if availability is limited in the area. Otherwise, no thanks.

This is a very tired hotel in a good location in downtown Norfolk.

We stayed for two nights in mid-July 2024 in a room with two queen beds and two large residential dehumidifiers both connected by flexible hosing to openings in the windows in the living room and bedroom. When we discovered the situation shortly after check-in, the hotel was unable to relocate us to another room with two queen beds, which we needed for our family, so we decided to stick it out. The noise from the dehumidifiers was bearable for two nights but undesirable. We definitely limited our time in the room due to the noise. Additionally, the thermostat in the room was broken and we were not able to regulate the temperature. When it was reported to the front desk, we were told the engineer would look into it, but it was clear that nothing was done.

Otherwise, the room had art missing from the walls, worn furnishings, and sparse kitchen utensils, plates, glasses, and flatware.

One of the two elevators serving the hotel was out of service, with no signage in the lobby indicating so. Both mornings, there was a noticeable wait for the lone elevator, and it appeared to be delaying room cleaning while the staff waited for the demand for the elevator to ebb so they could get their carts up and down. Additionally, the front doors facing Brambleton Avenue were inoperative in the middle of the day - again with no signage.

The staff of the hotel was accommodating and the public areas of the hotel were generally clean. We had breakfast in the lobby one of the mornings and it was adequate.

Our short stay here was adequate, but we would probably not choose to stay here again should our travels take us through Norfolk.

The breakfast had a variety of hot and cold items to choose from; scramble eggs, bacon, toast, waffles, oatmeal, cereal, yogurt, fruit, coffee and juice.

Don't plan to revisit. Unfortunately, not up to impeccable Marriott standards. Carpets in lobby and elevators needs to be vacuumed, room was a bit musty with peeling wall paper in bathroom. Complimentary breakfast 7-9am, but coffee gone by 8am, no refill in sight. Overall not horrible, but at near $300 per night, due to jazz festival weekend, am a Marriott club member and share holder, would like to see standards maintained. Don't mean to be harsh, Hopefully management takes as honest feedback, with good intentions.

We stayed in December 2022 for the first time. The hotel is centrally located, steps from everything. Parking is easy and validated. The lobby is modern, the staff was friendly. This is such a scam, but there is no housekeeping because if COVID (or because they don’t want to pay a living wage to their workers) The room was clean, but needs some work. The wallpaper is peeling in places. The sink is stopped up. The carpet is a little wrinkled. One of the towel racks is bent. This hotel could be a 5, but it needs some major TLC.

BED BUGS AND SUPER LOUD LIGHT RAIL RUNS 6AM-12AM. NO MATTRESS COVER AND SHEETS DON’T FIT.

This was one of the worst hotel stays I have ever had. I travel weekly for work and have never felt the need to leave a negative review, but this experience has left be absolutely irate and disappointed in how I was treated. For starters my hotel room had bed bugs, I woke up with bites all over my arms and upper thighs. (See picture on my yelp review as google doesn’t let me post one). The hotel also doesn’t use mattress covers, just a sheet that barely fits the bed and came off while I was sleeping. So gross to wake up sleeping directly on a bare mattress. (no wonder they have bed bugs) When I notified the manager I was not given an apology but a very annoyed “we will look into it”. I get it, I’m sure a lot of people try to claim bed bugs to get a free stay but this stay is on my company card and a refund does not benefit me at all. I asked for bags to seal my belongings and it took them 30 minutes to bring to my room and when I opened the door they were thrown at me. After packing up my things I went down to the lobby to speak to the manager to check out. Again, no apology, no empathy to what had just happened. I was just told that they have to inspect the room to see if there were actually bed bugs. I was informed that they would contact me to discuss possibly covering cost of items I had to have professionally cleaned. It has now been 2 days since I checked out and no one has reached out to me. I’m a platinum elite member which means I have stayed at Marriott hotels over 50 nights this year and this is how I was treated. No apologies, no offer to make up for a terrible experience.

The graveyard shift staff don't smile when you walk in and act like you are bothering them when you check in. The maintenance guy was mopping the floor and gave me attitude for walking in. The elevator had old dirty carpet and the hallways and room smells bad as well. This place is dumpy and needs a major overhaul. Staff needs to treat guest with a lot better as well.
Before you pay for your room, ask to see and smell it first and see if it is worth over $200 a night.
I hope I never have to stay there again.
