We are giving this hotel a four for several reasons:
1. Location: Easily accessible from airport by public train transit. Close to center of city and easy walking distance to all things you would want to see in the eclectic and fun Pearl District.
2. Windows that open! So rare these days to stay in a hotel where you have the option to open windows for ventilation.
3. Hotel bar had excellent prices on food and drink.
4. Hotel staff were pleasant and efficient.

We would have to say, though, that we were disappointed that the toilet was not in better working order. The first night there it completely overflowed after our first flush and we had to call maintenance to come and mop and plunge it out. Then throughout our weekend stay it was slow to flush and threatened to overflow a couple of times. This made it inconvenient for us, as we had to wait to use it and then were worried it would overflow. When we told front desk at check out the gentleman was quick to add it to a maintenance list.
***If we were assured the toilet issue was completely fixed we would not hesitate to stay here again.

Was in town for a week and found the price for the hotel to be cheaper than AirBnB. In short: the location, quality of the room and general service was all fantastic.

Located truly central with a Target around the corner and lovely local food vendors across the road. The main square is two blocks away (3 min walk).

The room was a good size, clean, good shower, enough towels and enough pillows. Air conditioning worked and the window opened (oddly not a given in all hotels).

The room service and cleaners were kind and courteous. The porters were fantastic, jovial and gave great recommendations on where to eat and what to do.

Would stay here again next time and highly recommend it for both leisure and business travellers.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Dossier Hotel for 4 days and the experience we had was beyond amazing. We were greeted at the front entrance as soon as we parked and were assisted in a professional and polite manner. The ladies and gents at the front counter were very thorough and made the whole check in process seem extremely easy. Our luggage was brought up to our room and the room was clean and spacious. Everytime we stepped out the hotel doors the staff standing out front were always very pleasant to talk to. They gave us amazing recommendations in regards to what to do, eat and explore. We definitely will be back because of their amazing customer service. Hands down the best customer experience and stay we've had at a hotel before!

I enjoyed a company dinner and cocktails at the hotel. The bar has a warm, vintage style atmosphere with excellent cocktails. Our bar tender and servers in the event space were eager and willing to help. The food was not typical of a hotel dining experience. The steak and salmon were cooked just right, which is difficult when feeding a large audience. I would definitely recommend this place to friends.

As a critical and picky person, I have to say that this hotel exceeds my expectation in all aspects. It is in a great location and spotless inside out. My room has large glass windows from ceiling to the floor, the bathroom feels luxurious with a large glass shower. Most importantly, the staff are so friendly. They actually give you the best room they can find. All in all, I highly applaud the meticulous management of this hotel, and would definitely live there again the next time I travel to Portland.

My stay at the Dossier in downtown Portland was wonderful! The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful. The bed was super comfortable as was the rest of the room. The only minor complaint I have is that I wish the room came with a coffee maker rather than an espresso machine. The espresso machine was a fun change from most hotel rooms but I also really wanted a larger cup of coffee in the morning. There was free coffee in the lobby but unfortunately it was cool the morning that I gave it a try. All in all, I will definitely stay again when I have the chance.

I stayed here for three nights. Audrey was person that checked us in and she was so kind and helpful. She had a wonderful personality and helped my new fiancee and I have a special time. The hotel bar was super. The bartender knew how to make really good old fashioned cocktails and she had great recommendations on other specialty bars to try out. The room was nice and clean with a great view. The hotel was at a perfect location. The light rail is just a block away but even better was the food carts down the street. There was so many great food choices. I recommend this hotel very highly.
