Adria Hotel and Conference Center

first and last visit: feb 7th

the issue is with the place, and not the staff, needless to say this review is related to our experience (of comfort) during our stay -hence, the review. i don't know how or why it shows that i rated this property a 6 or even a 7 from a third party hotel reservation site.. the rooms do not have air-conditioning since, as per front desk, new york by-laws only require heaters for older hotels. the building itself screams it needs a facelift, and i didn't take pictures of the bad stuff (water-stained overhead boards, slow toilet flush, 6-9 inch window opening acting as the AC, lighting fixtures, lobby furniture, etc!) i don't know how or why this has a higher rating than the neighboring hotel.. it's not like you're greeted or treated as a valued customer. i thought perhaps new york just being new york.. but i got a call at 2am from the front desk (someone) -they dropped the call as soon as they learned they got a wrong room/number!
breakfast wasn't worth taking pictures of but enough to get you through lunch without a stomach ache.. and parking area is suffice given not a lot of people stay here but -be warned: hotel has no say with damaged property/vehicles.. anybody can just waltz in the parking lot, not a lot of deterrents, really.. and they have a disclaimer that there have been incidents of break-ins.. so? don't leave anything valuable in vehicles! that says something, no?
i doubt I'll be back.. but if you're booking last minute, i suggest you check the place first and compare next door. if the other hotel chain is worse, i guess you'll end up paying close to $150 for something that's worth CAD$80 or less.
there's fast food right across.. the only thing that's good, i suppose.
