Courtyard Salt Lake City Airport

Booked a room here for a conference a month in advance. Hotel emailed me at 4pm the day before my trip and told me they canceled my reservation due to “unforeseen circumstances” and rebooked me at a Hilton 5 miles away. To add insult to injury they rebooked me with the wrong dates at the Hilton property. Manager has been unresponsive to all emails and unhelpful.

TLDR the hotel overbooked many of its guests then lied and said they had electrical issues affecting the entire hotel. Unresponsive and unprofessional regarding any resolution. This property does not align with the Marriott standard.

This is the worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at due to noise. You can hear every footstep from the rom above you, and every door open in the hallway, you can hear people walking by outside. The door to your room has a large crack in it so no noise is blocked. You can even hear people in the next room turning on light switches! These walls are paper thin so unless you can sleep like a log through a hurricane, I would not stay here! Definitely not worth the price, stay at the Hyatt down the street.

This is such a beautiful city, but unfortunately, hands down, this is the worst Marriott I have ever stayed at. I travel a lot for business and I couldn't be more disappointed. My co-workers toilet backed up and she had to move rooms. Later that night my toilet also backed up. Also, the TV in my room did not work. I understand that things break down at hotels, but my problems were more with the staff and horrible customer service. I attempted to call both the front desk and housekeeping numerous times to report the toilet with no answer. I ended up having to get dressed and walk to the lobby. There was no one to be found in front the entire time. The only person I could find was someone at the bar serving shots to patrons. I asked him to assist in finding someone for me and returned to my room. NOTHING. I called again, to both numbers, with no answer. I finally got ahold of someone in housekeeping but no one arrived. After another call, I was told that they would bring it to me after they were done mopping floors. It was 1030 pm and I just wanted to go to bed. Later, in the morning, I reported that the TV did not work to the front desk. I was told that I needed to come back and report it again when I checked out. From check in to check out, I felt dismissed and unimportant. Considering I only use Marriott when I travel, I am usually treated much better than this, not only because of my Marriott status, but truthfully, it does not matter, ANYONE should be treated better than that. I absolutely will find a different place to stay when I return to Salt Lake.

If you have a choice from the airlines DONT PICK THIS HOTEL. I was given vouchers by Delta for lodging and food. The restaurant here is closed for dinner for a whole month and they DO NOT ACCEPT VOUCHERS for breakfast (which is only served from 7-9am). No lunch. If you're diabetic or hypoglycemic like me, you will be sick if you stay here and don't want/have $30+ to drop on a cafeteria breakfast. Luckily I ate at the airport before I came here or Id be in trouble right about now. Not sure what I'm going to do.

My options are to pay for food here and stand in line for an hour at the airport before my flight to try and get the receipt redeemed. Or search for cheaper food elsewhere with a winter weather advisory outside. Beware.
