Hyatt Place Salt Lake City Downtown / The Gateway

It was a rough start calling for reservations. I was on hold and hung up and was texting and dropped. I called directly to the Hyatt front desk and Hannah answered. She took amazing care of us, my wife has some special needs. Very understanding and reassuring. When we arrived I was still worried, the front desk gals took great care of us and even bumped into Hannah, who continued taking care of us. It seemed as though everyone was the same quality of customer care as she provided to us.
Now for our stay. We travel the world and this hotel is some of the best, newly remodeled, a great full breakfast, workout room and pool and hot tub. The room was spacious and accommodating. A perfect location, at the Gateway, so close to everything downtown. Last is the value, we have paid a lot more for not even close to the value. We both gave this 5 stars

Nice hotel. Good for kids. It has a nice breakfast every morning. Rooms are reasonably quiet for downtown area. Your across the street from the gateway with lots to eat and a block off of the light rail. The pool is reasonably sized. The hot tub is a good hot tub to relax in. Some pieces of the hotel have a little wear and tear but nothing that should detract from your stay.

Great location downtown close to everything and easily walkable to restaurants or the trax go elsewhere in the city. Room was clean and quiet. Pool and spa was clean. The fitness center is impressive as well and has a Pelaton bike. Customer service was excellent! Our AC wouldn't drop below 70 on the first night and they provided us with a fan. Thankfully the air did finally lower but we were so thankful for the assistance!
Negatives: Bed and pillows were not very comfortable. My back hurt the whole time we stayed there. Pillows were too flat. There is no microwave in the rooms. And no clear pet area. We walked our little guy across the road for grass as there was none around the hotel.

A very nice experience overall. The room was very clean and on the larger side. The staff were very nice and friendly. The free breakfast was very good everyday. Our air in the room was not working great but they did give us a fan to help.

The room was really big. It had two queen beds and a fold out couch. They provided really nice shampoo, conditioner and body wash and offered other sanitary items like toothbrushes and toothpaste. The pool was nice and clean. The hot tub was a nice temperature, but the bubbles did not work. They offered a Continental breakfast with eggs, sausage, bagel, cream cheese, cereal, orange and apple juice, yogurt with toppings and more. It was well worth the price.

Arrived a little early and still were able to get our room quickly. Rooms are big and spacious. Everything is clean. Jacuzzi was nice. Staff is very friendly especially Robby and Rita. Staff able to get us a taxi to the airport for a good price. Very walkable to a lot of shops and restaurants.

We stay here almost every year when we go to the Tabernacle Choir Christmas Concert. It's near the conference center and City Creek so we can enjoy the festivities of the area before the concert. The staff is always super nice and helpful. It has a decent breakfast as well. We totally recommend it.

This hotel is the best rated in this area. I have been staying here for years. If you stay for a few nights you won't be disappointed.

I'm happy with my decision to stay here. The rooms are large and comfortable. The staff is friendly. The location is great. They welcomed my dog, too. This will be my go too next time I'm in town.

Great clean rooms, comfy beds and spacious. Just what we needed for our family of 5. Good breakfast and actually good coffee!! Close to the downtown happy place for eating dinner (where everyone can pick a restaurant that they want)! Definitely will visit again next year on our road trip.
