Wonderful host and staff, delicious coffee and pancakes, and fun game nights where I whooped them all ;)

Such a wonderful stay! Owner and staff were incredibly welcoming and kind. Location is central. There's on-site parking available. Free linens. $6 laundry. Sourdough pancakes were on point! My only criticism, and I hate criticizing this place, is the mattresses could use updating. :(

Lovely, charming, small-scale hostel. If you like cozy hostels, this is the place to stay. There's a super nice common area with a comfortable couch and chairs and even a piano (if slightly out of tune :-)). The staff is very friendly, and always open for a chat. Overall really cozy place. Nice hang out couches and music instruments. Big kitchen. Nice pancakes that you make yourself in the morning. The rooms are a bit cold and a bit loud. Really nice and informative personal.

I stayed at this hostel for a week and would have stayed longer! It's a special place staffed by people who really care about providing a good experience. The sourdough pancake breakfasts are fantastic, and the location was very convenient to accessing downtown or hiking up Terrace Hill. Nice lady at front office name is Deborah I believe ..not bad location either decent priced was going to have the option of checking in early for a small fee nice place !

Everything was clean, tidy & well stocked. Beds were comfortable. Overall if you're looking for a quiet, comfortable place to stay in SLO, this place is great.

Comfortable room w decent AC and wifi. Downside was being directly on Monterrey meant you hear the street traffic early in the morning. Good for 1 night while dropping off students at Cal Poly.

Friendly staff, convenient location. Like others mention, it’s dark in the room and the carpet is worn, but the bed was comfortable and clean. Basic amenities. Don’t expect fancy for the price, but if you only need a place for a night or two, this will suffice.

Surprisingly nice hotel. Good price for SLO. Although the building is old, the rooms are clean, and the property is kept up well. I would consider staying again the next time I come to town.

The people were kind and helpful but the room needed a more at home feel. Clearly, the room being newly remodeled, disguised some of the problems we had. The room is bare minimums. There is no place to sit and relax, (ie, sofa chair, or sofa) only chairs at the dinning table. This makes it good for an overnight stay but not for a vacation where you want to include reading and relaxing in the room...

This is absolutely the cutest budget motel that I have stayed at on the California coast! The room was clean, and nicely decorated with microwave, fridge and coffee maker. The bathroom has a nice updated shower with good hot water and great water pressure. I have already booked another reservation. You can also get coastal access straight down the street. This place is a little gem.

This is a family owned and operated business, and they are doing a most excellent job! Difficult times hard to deal wich exist everywhere in business today. They are meeting many of the challenges that business owners are facing today head on. And with the best hospitality I have seen in a long time. We got a suite because we did not make a reservation and that is the only one they had left. They offered military discount which is great. Most reasonably priced hotel in the area! The suite has a king and a queen bed. We loved it. Very clean, beds are very comfortable, and room is pretty updated. The only bad thing I could say is the floor had a lite dust on it, most likly from the mop they used...

Very nice inn walking distance to restaurants and coffee shops. Room was very clean, lady at the reception very nice. Doing laundry was very easy, as the pub was just across.

Clean and quiet this was a wonderful stay to celebrate our anniversary! The bed was very soft and it was in a wonderfully convenient location. The staff was incredibly friendly and hospitable, we will definitely be coming back!

I instantly fell in love with this beautiful boutique hotel! The service was great and the room was beautiful! The pool area was my favorite, lots of places to sit and relax and my favorite part was the cozy blankets on each chair. I also loved that we were walking distance to restaurants and markets. Stayed here on a Monday night in September, 2022. It's a two-star hotel but it's better than that. It's a really cute, quaint, little place. And I mean little. My family and I just checked out of Shell Beach Inn this morning. I can't say enough good things about this place. It was our first stay and I, honestly, plan to come back. After a last minute cancellation with another hotel due to the storms, SeaVenture was able to accommodate us in a beautiful room with an amazing view. We stayed in a corner room which had a king size bed as well as two twin beds in a nook perfect for the kiddos. The room was clean and tastefully decorated. Great experience at the Sea venture! We stayed here for our anniversary and they were very accommodating. We opted for a deluxe room with the hotel and I will say that it was 100% worth it! I loved this hotel! The beach is right outside the lobby. I took a surfing lesson just steps from the hotel. The room had a very comfy king bed, a romantic fireplace and a, balcony with a private hot tub. Nice quality toiletries. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful with suggestions for local places to eat.

Great experiences at this hotel for years! Relax in the hot tubs, enjoy the view, and play on the sand just by walking out the doors. No stairs to and from the beach! The in-room morning breakfast option is enjoyable with a lot of selections as well. My favorite hotel in Pismo!
