Hampton Inn Sioux Falls

The front desk employee was the most rude person I have ever came across in my entire life. After waiting because no one was that the front desk I got things out the convenient section and wait for 30 min before I decide to write a note stating what I was purchasing and wanted to charge to my room since no one was at the front desk. He came back and said we had to dial 0 on the hotels phone which was facing towards the employees side so there was no way of knowing that from the lobby from where we were standing. We felt like it was invading your company policy by moving your phone and having to dial 0 from your desk lobby. So we waited then he finally came and threatened us by calling the police because we were “stealing” which wouldn’t have happened if your employee was at the front desk and doing his job. A great place to stay but the late night gentleman was the worst person in customer service I have ever dealt with. The ladies the night before and working during the day were the kindest people I have ever met but the gentleman at night ruined all of my experience because of how rude he was and threatened me and my coworker. I don’t give a dang about refund or getting money back but if you want to have the best customer service make sure to deal with the nice ladies/housekeeepers instead of the rudest person in customer service history. The night of 4-24-24/morning of 4/25/24. Literally disrespectful where I will report to a hire up.

When we arrived, we were told there was no reservation for us. Apparently they had lost the information I sent Jan 7 for a stay May 2-3, and used information from my Hilton honors account that carried an expired credit card (2020!) They cancelled the reservation before we arrived!.and they defended their actions by saying they had tried to call and email us, but we were in an area without coverage while traveling. And to add salt to the wound, their email threatened penalty charges for their cancellation that was after the time for free cancellation. We will never stay here again

While staying at this location, I woke up at
1:30am to the fire alarm after a sprinkler froze and burst. I was room 302 shown in the photo.
This resulted in several belongings becoming damaged and me needing to go to a different hotel.
Nobody from Hilton reached out with any sort of apology or to address my damaged items / additional hotel costs. Overall very poor customer service.
At the time of this review, Hampton Inn removed my reward points for this stay and has not contacted me regarding my damaged personal items.

Avoid do not trust the reviews -
Hotel claims to be dog friendly for travelers then has a hidden non refundable fee that cost more then the cost of the actual room.
Not animal friendly- choose any of the other dog friendly hotels located the same exit with no fee or only requires refundable deposit

I called to check if the sheets were neutral / unscented and they told me yes, even giving me a brand and type. So we booked the hotel and when I arrived - first the manager HANNAH was extremely rude from the first second of our interaction, second, I went to the room and it smelled like cheap perfum. I asked her to cancel the room since it wasn’t what we asked or paid for, and she tried to convince me she couldn’t do it - and to convince me that this chain uses the same products everywhere - when I literally stayed in two other Hampton inn in the last days and they were both NO SCENTED. She had a b face / attitude the entire time and was acting like if I was doing something wrong. It’s insane that someone like that can work with costumers, since she seems to hate people. DONT GIVE YOUR MONEY TO THIS COMPANY.
