Checked in today. I guess I was expecting a more luxurious experience. The check in area is on the small side. There were cookies to entice you, but how long had they been sitting out? The concierge sits across from the check in desk, but she didn’t acknowledge us upon entering the resort. The desk clerk was busy with another guest upon us entering, but again, no one acknowledged us until it was our...
My wife and I just returned from our trip to Stowe Vermont. We were very excited about our stay at the Topnotch Resort after seeing all of the photos. The property is beautiful and offers some nice amenities although most at an additional cost. We have traveled the world and stayed at mid to highend hotels so we have a very good idea typically of expectations at certain price points. The fact that...
Great spot for our visit to Stowe in the summer. Front desk, management and maintenance staff are friendly and helpful. Any issues and they respond immediately. Our condo was very spacious with every amenity you’d need. The facilities are top notch too, the gym, spa, pools, so much going on here. On-site restaurant The Roost is a gem too.
I had a couple issues during my stay, Jeremy the assistant GM admitted to the issues and went out of his way to try and make it better. I appreciate that effort immensely, it’s more than other places would have done. It’s a comfortable place that has great people.
My husband and I got married at Topnotch about a year ago and have done nothing but rave about our experience, so I am finally putting my thoughts into a review! We hosted our full wedding weekend at Topnotch -- rehearsal dinner, welcome drinks, wedding, and farewell brunch -- and it was all just lovely. Topnotch has several different event spaces that we were able to utilize based on our needs for...
The Spa was exceptional! I can't remember the girls name, but she did a very good job at making me feel comfortable as for it was my first time receiving a massage. The staff was very friendly, and the facilities were super clean!

A very nice resort, a bit dated but otherwise pleasant. The rooms are large and comfortable. I traveled here for a conference which was paid so not trying into account the cost of rooms or food. Recent reviews are fairly negative but my stay was nice. The food and service was OK.
The Resort could be so nice if it were kept up. Our room was nice and I have to say very clean! The bed was comfy and the resort is charming. Yes, it was a bit outdated, but it wasn't as bad as what some reviews said. The resort is in a great spot! We did a lot in the area and enjoyed ourselves. We went into historic Stowe and enjoyed the town and the little mom-and-pop shops. We ate at a wonderful...
This is a very quiet, peaceful place to stay. The location is superb, as it is within walking distance of many things including the bike rental shop. After a long day of tiring outdoor activities, it was nice to return to such a comfortable and relaxing environment. The rooms are spacious and the fireplaces are so quaint and cozy.
It was a really nice place. They have a lot of extras to borrow like snowshoes! Breakfast was fine but could of had better hours to go in.
Stoweflake is a unique privately owned gem in Stowe. The management runs a tight ship with high standards and consistent service delivery. Love it
Staff was wonderful. They were friendly, helpful, & accommodating. Dog friendly, good location to mountain, shuttle service. Rooms comfortable.

Brilliant location, fantastic room very comfortable, communal area's beautiful furnished. and tea and cakes.in the afternoon were nice bonus
Great service from the front desk team, they were able to change my room last minute. The Inn is an antique, but cute and lovely decorated for Christmas. The location is nice, able to walk the main street. There is an outdoor pool and is a relaxing swim.
This was our 1st time at the inn. We came on Thanksgiving morning. We were amazed because we were able to go to our room by 11am. The Thanksgiving dinner was great. 1 special staff member was so very good to us . Rye was so accommodating and helpful. He really does enjoy his job. All the staff were very accommodating and showed much care for tge guests. We will definitely return ! Great experience
I want to thank Green Mountain Inn and specifically RYE for making my parents’ anniversary stay memorable! My parents have a tradition of staying at GME for their anniversary, as they first stayed there while on their honeymoon 34 years ago in 1988. I called in to have flowers, champagne, and chocolate covered strawberries sent to their room, and Rye was so enthusiastic, fun, and excited to help me...
We stopped in for breakfast while visiting Stowe. What a great place! Maintains it's historic charm while updated. Breakfast is always busy in Stowe, but we were able to get seated and served quickly. The waitress was friendly, prompt and attentive, the food was excellent. We would definitely go back and highly recommend if you're in the area!
Feels very historic and is in a great location to walk around visiting shops and sights. The room was beautiful with a fireplace and nice ambient lighting to make it cozy and homelike. It was very quiet too, we never heard any of the other guests. Breakfast was just okay but the service was good with friendly staff. The 4 stars is because my husband had a broken leg and was on crutches or a knee scooter...

Been staying at Randy's place for years now in all different rooms but the rooms with jacuzzi are a really nice getaway. Like everyone says the Breakfasts are among the best in Stowe, you will see guests of other hotels come to Randy's just for the breakfast menu. That brings me to another point, the room rates for the Jacuzzi rooms are about the same as a tiny room at the big resorts. Gabbles is also...
There is NO better place to stay in Stowe than with Randy and Mickey. Let me start out with the breakfast. It’s literally the best breakfast we’ve ever had. Period. The stuffed French toast is to die for! The rooms are cozy and comfortable. We have stayed here three times in the past three years, and it’s always been a perfect vacation. Thank you to Randy and Mickey for the awesome hospitality! We...
We stayed in the master bedroom, and it was absolutely amazing. Randy was a great host, very welcoming and accommodating. The complimentary breakfast was unbelievable and there's coffee and cake 24/7. Highly recommend this place if you want hotel quality service with a homely feel.
The Gables Inn is a phenomenal place to stay in Stowe. It's located just off a main road across from a biking/walking trail that is well maintained. The amenities are great--nice hot water in the shower, good heating and cooling system, and the Gables Suite (where we stayed) was very large and roomy with a gas fireplace and whirlpool tub large enough for two to sit comfortably. Breakfast is included...
What a great find! We could not have asked for a better B&B or a better host in Randy! The inn is nestled next to the 5 mile hike/bike path that runs along Stowe and is easy access to the mountains and other areas nearby. We stayed in the Gables Suite - we loved the comfortable bed, spacious room, and fireplace. The little bit of fall nip in the air was enough justification for us to use the fireplace...
Loved our experience here at The Gables Inn. Very friendly staff and they have the most awesome dog here! Breakfasts are included and are super good! Accommodating to vegans. If we ever come back to Vermont we will absolutely return to The Gables

Todd and Kristie are superb hosts along with staff member Tony who will take great care of you. The Inn is warm, cozy, very inviting, and beautifully decorated for each season. There are 9 total rooms evenly separated by a comfortable living space, dining space (sit down breakfast), pantry and game room. We visited for a ski weekend and the Inn is situated perfectly between Stowe Mountain Resort (...
Beautiful property in a good location in Stowe. The rooms are terrific. Large well decorated bedroom with a top notch bathroom. Common areas are great. Very good breakfast. The only suggestion is that Innkeepers could be a little more visible/welcoming.
Just an unbelievably luxurious experience from beginning to end. The inn is situated close to everything that Stowe has to offer but just far away enough to be quaint. It was quiet all weekend, the room was clean and updated and the jacuzzi tub, gas fireplace and view of the grounds were all amazing. Well worth the money.
We stayed at The Stone HIll Inn and really enjoyed it! It's on a beautiful piece of private property that you're able to walk around/enjoy. The room and bathroom were both very spacious, the breakfast was amazing in the AM, and we felt that one of the main selling points (which may be surprising) is the washer and dryer that's available to the guests! We needed a place to clean our clothes since we...
Another wonderful experience at Stone Hill Inn! We went on our honeymoon in 2010 when it had different ownership, and both experiences were perfect. The current ownership were friendly, accommodating, and helpful. The location is great, the food was fantastic, and amenities are excellent. Would definitely recommend it.
What a treat! A fireplace next to a jacuzzi tub is simply a dream. Add to that the beautiful grounds and many amenities, and it's easy to see why this place is so well reviewed. The proprietors are kind and helpful and offer many small comforts to make the stay feel like home.

1 star for location. 1 star for cleanliness and 1 star for recent remodel. However would not recommend this place. No coffee or amenities in the rooms except soap shampoo etc. Bedroom door leads to outside. I like my coffee when wake and don’t want to walk 60 yards in the cold for coffee and water in the main office. Customer service is pretty nonexistent. You text them or leave a message. If you...
Perfect spot for a few nights in Stowe. Nothing fancy, but just right. I had a great time staying here and think they do an amazing job. The bar next door is really good too. And if you are a mountain biker, this is the spot, you are literally across the street from the flow trails.
The good: had a nice room, reminded me of my hostel stays through Ireland. I would stay here again, despite everything else I'm about to say. The bad: I think it's a touch pricey for having to do everything yourself: Sign yourself up, check yourself in, and anything extra you need/want is on you. We made our reservation and received and email that said we would get our instructions via text. Never...
The staff here has been more the then helpful. Asked for a late check-out and was told not a problem.Room was clean willing to answer any questions I had .Gave good recommendation for places to eat. The wife and I will be back.
The staff are very friendly and helpful! The place could is a little older and has areas that could be touched up, but it's nice to stay with groups. Large rooms. Indoor and outdoor pool. Bar. Great included breakfast (at least with our group). Shuttle to the mountain comes frequently and picks you up right outside at the end of the driveway. Still uses keys
The rooms are of an older style but they were clean and in good condition. I personally find that it adds a bit of charm to a Vermont ski trip. The pool, hot tub, and sauna were a great was to relax after a day on the slopes. They did have a small breakfast consisted of bagels, oatmeal, yogurt, cereal, coffee, and OJ. The location is less then 10min to Stowe and right in the middle of the restaurants...

We really enjoyed the breakfast. Valerie puts a lot of effort so the guests can start the day with a culinary delight. The house itself is beautiful and the backyard is amazing, great view of the mountains and woods.
We have had the absolute best time here. Ownership just changed when we stayed but it was still exactly what we hoped it would be, in big part thanks to Hannah and Rob. Amazing breakfast including fresh maple scones, cozy rooms, a hot tub perfect for after a ski day and a great fire always ready to roar. We had the BEST stay! Met so many friendly people and the breakfast was incredible we made sure not to miss it every morning! Thank you soooo much! Best wishes on your new adventure.
My husband and I stayed for 4 nights at the Timberholm Inn and I cannot recommend it enough. It had all the charm you’d ever want and was in a great location. There is a great view of the mountains, a garden to sit outside and just enjoy the scenery, and a cozy main room. Valarie cooked restaurant quality breakfast every morning with attention to detail, there was great conversation, and the cutest...
Valarie is an awesome innkeeper! She was very helpful telling us places to check out each day. Had a great stay. Breakfast was delicious every morning. Bed was very comfortable. Room very nice. Was fun hanging by fire pit with new friends from Nebraska! Had an awesome stay!
We chose this lodging for a 4-night anniversary getaway. It was the perfect choice. I picked the Aspen room and it was roomy and clean. It sits at the end of the building, giving more of a private feel. The king bed was so comfortable. The breakfasts were great! I previously stayed at the Tälta the first week of November 2021, only a few weeks after they had finished renovating the entire lodge into what you see today. After my second stay this year, right before peak Fall Foliage season, I can easily say I will continue to stay at the Tälta from now on when I visit Stowe. The rooms are clean and comfortable, the staff is excellent and very responsive to question...
The Tälta Lodge Bluebird is a great stop/stay in Stowe, VT. We (five couples on motorcycles traveling from a trip to Niagara Falls) decided to stay the night and found this hotel beautiful and clean. The hotel has a Scandinavian vibe, modern and minimalist. The rooms were terrific, immaculate, and nicely furnished, and the bed was dreamy comfortable. The staff is friendly and professional, and very...
The modern Scandinavian design makes your stay here wonderful, with clean relaxing rooms and beautiful lounge areas. The pool is great, not too busy and comfortably warm. There is coffee in the morning and drinks available at the front desk. Showers in the rooms are hot, with great water pressure and nice modern fixtures. Beds and pillows are comfortable. The backyard area is gorgeous, especially...
We had a fun time staying in the bunk room. The sauna was always hot and it was nice to then cool off in the cold pool. The room being next to the pool did have a slight bleach/chemical smell to it at first. I would return but not stay in the bunk room. The bathrooms are really nice, great shower, comfy beds and we also enjoyed hanging out in the lounge area downstairs.
Great hotel with an amazing outdoorsy vibe! My boyfriend and I stayed here for several days while skiing at Stowe. The hotel is perfect for a ski vacation since it is close to the mountain and to town. All the staff members were very friendly and accommodating. There is also beer and food available at the front desk, which was perfect for apres ski. We also took advantage of the sauna. The gear lockers...
Not bad for a last minute book at a lower price. The rooms were quite outdated and minimal though clean. The walls/doors/everything are definitely thin, you can hear almost everything when there's any activity around. The heat at night also seemed extremely high, to the point where my husband had to put the AC on in the middle of the night. In the middle of winter. The staff were excellent though,...

Excellent host Bud! Great breakfast from 8 to 9 cooked by Bud. Seems to be a swiss chalet. Very recommended!
Quaint B&B, lovely location and convenient to all that Stowe has to offer. Bud was a great host! Met other nice travelers and Breakfast was great.
This place is full of character so don't go in expecting the Hilton. But that's what makes it beautiful. Bud our host was friendly and warm and sets the tone for a welcoming stay in stowe. Perfectly located to hike the nearby Mt Mansfield. Room was clean and tidy. Breakfast was great ! Only note - Mattress was a bit warn and could use a change !
This Inn is conveniently located near the village. It could use some updating. The host is friendly and helpful, if a bit intrusive. The bedrooms have no lock or Do Not Disturb signs. We told him that we did not need anything and to please not enter our room, but he did anyway. The shower is alternately scalding and freezing depending on what others in the inn are doing. The bedding is quite old, sheets...
The bubbling brook in the back yard provides a bucolic backdrop for this cozy inn. Bud and Carol are super friendly. This b&b is well beyond worth the price, especially given the competition costs double. I will definitely stay here again if I return to Stowe. We didn't have breakfast, but it's included. I heard french toast, eggs, bacon and sausage mentioned as on offer. Really nice drip coffee....

I liked the pool and hot tub. I thought the room was spacious and the bed was very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful.
Nice affordable Lodge, good location. Cute babbling brooks outside you can sit by and relax. Beautiful indoor and outdoor pool. Hot tub and sauna. We have gone here several times. The hot breakfast use to be a draw for us but now is a boxed breakfast. (Hopefully it's just a covid thing and will return to normal dinning) is was definitely a perk for the place!! Over all a great choice for Stowe
The staff was so friendly, the location is beautiful (the stream behind the property is idyllic) and they serve a nice breakfast. Delicious coffee is available 24/7. Check in and check out was very easy. The rooms were comfortable and I'm glad we had a fridge in the room. The location is nicely in between Stowe village as well as Stowe mountain. I highly recommend checking out The Round Hearth Cafe...
We had a lovely stay here! The rooms were clean with good AC, beds were very comfy, nice breakfast, and the staff are really friendly. The surrounding area is beautiful too. Overall fantastic value, would 100% recommend :)
Our room was comfortable. There are no phones in the rooms other than a decorative old phone. No coffee maker. Staff is friendly. No one is at the front desk but you can press a button for assistance and someone will help you. The pool is very nice. Nice hot tub. There's a sauna. The location is convenient.
Great place. Price was very reasonable for a holiday weekend. Beautiful location and grounds. Room was clean and looked nice. Amenities include: pool, outdoor pool, and hot tub, game room, ice machine, laundry machine, vending machine for drinks, tennis/badminton net in the yard, fridges in rooms, breakfast, coffee kept on breakfast bar. We stayed four nights and were so pleased with the accommodations. Everything was in order with so much attention to detail John and Julie were the perfect hosts and had thought of everything! We made a quick driving trip through NH and VT staying 4 nights in 4 different BnB's. Fitch Hill was by far the best inn we stayed at. We were greeted by both innkeepers with cookies and hot apple cider. Breakfast the next morning was great! Our room had all the amenities you find in a hotel plus more; hot beverages, cold water, popcorn and candy.
The house has a nice antique look inside and out. We were nicely welcomed. Rooms are conveniently stocked with everything you'd have at home. Rooms each have a different "personality". The house is very quiet and provides comfort and a good rest. Complimentary cooked breakfast is also tasty and original!
This is a lovely B&B with a lot of charm and tremendous hospitality. The room I stayed in was very cozy, and was head to toe in New England B&B charm. The inn keepers (Julie & John) were outstanding hosts and although I never met John in person, he knew my name at breakfast the next morning. I'd definitely stay here again. Came for a quick trip for the Catamount Ultra. The exterior was a little rough and overgrown, but inside is a cute old cozy cottage feel, reminded me of going home to moms. Room was clean and fresh with a comfortable bed, nice sitting area downstairs. I'd come back for the homemade breakfast of blueberry pancakes and home style potatoes alone! Owner was super friendly...
Lets start with the positive: Fabulous homecooked breakfast, very friendly hosts, cozy/ homey feeling inn. They have a very unconventional check-in, it's outdated, a bit dusty, and run down. All in all it's not a terrible place to crash, but it is a bit discouraging to pull up to.
Comfy place, little discouraged by the upkeep of it, but it served all our needs for a fun filled weekend. Home cooked breakfast was amazing and the hosts were super friendly!
All in all I had a good experience. Expedia wasn't too much help when I accidentally booked the room for the wrong weekend, but I called Bears Lair myself and they were happy to change the date. They were also allowing me to stay the single night that I needed. We absolutely loved our stay at Sun & Ski Inn and Suites for so many reasons! The location is incredible. There are a few shops, breweries, restaurants and cafes that are just outside of the inn and an easy walk. There is a walking path right across the street that is beautiful and brings you to Main St. This inn is very family friendly and such a fun spot for a family with the bowling and mini golf...
Really happy with our stay here! Good rooms, nice pool and staying along the water was pretty. Amazing location to walk to a few different restaurants and spots for drinks! The attached bowling alley was a nice touch and we enjoyed our evening there! Friendly staff, cookies and coffee in the main lobby, and they gave us a tasty breakfast in the a.m.! We would recommend and would stay again!
Pros: Convenient location if your itinerary is in Stowe. Eatery and bowling are cool and great service. Backyard view from porch and drive up access to door is GREAT Cons: water refill station was out of Order. They allowed us to Do virtual Check in then we were told They don't Do It anymore upon arrival. The beds slide at the slightest movement. My mattress moved a full six inches from the wall when...

We had a wonderful two night stay at the 1860 House. Rose Marie is an amazing host and made us feel at home. Her inn is very cozy, clean and centrally located in Stowe.
Rose is a lovely woman and an excellent host. Her house is so nice and comfortable that you are not going to want to leave. Highly recommended.
Multiple rooms, all look newly renovated and comfy. Plenty of parking and a block away from the main road of Stowe. Plenty of space for kids to run. Linens and towels supplied. We would stay here again!
Fantastic owner, location, and house. We stayed here for our honeymoon and could not be more satisfied. It was a quick walk to all the shops and dining places. The room was affordable and the bed was comfortable. The owner, Rose, was extremely welcoming and nice. This is an exceptional place to stay if you want to get the full Stowe experience!
The 1860 House is cozy, warm, and conveniently located in the center of Stowe. We've stayed here twice and this second time was even better since we are getting to know the town a lot better.
